The whole thing angered me, but the bit that got me was "I was proud of her for making money from her hobby." It belittles the time, effort, care and costs that she's put in to providing a service. Even if it started out as a hobby she's literally creating something for someone in exchange for money. THATS WORK. My ex once told me that my career choice was just a hobby and I was livid. Being creative is a job, whatever the income. I hope she leaves his sorry ass.

I've had this a few times and it took me a while to realise I deserved better. I dated a guy in 2020 who I'd known for a few years and he was the one that initiated things. At first he was great, then got lazy with chatting and suggesting dates. So one day I just didn't text him. And that was that. I've dated a couple of other guys since then and the second they even hint at being avoidant I end it in my head and cut contact. Even if they're still keen. I just decided I'm not wasting my time on …

I'm having an apartment clean and spending it at home in the bath watching Queer Eye. I did have plans but Covid got to everyone but me.

Yes. I've done the whole levelling up, when me and my ex broke up and went out and got the career I wanted, bought my own flat and made a bunch of amazing new friends. I've been single for five years and dated about and it started bothering me that I hadn't met someone. I got really down a few times about it and started beating myself up about it. Weirdly though, having spent multiple lockdowns on my own in my flat I've come to realise that if anyone is going to be part of the life I've built fo…

I tend to avoid guys that don't have any social media. Mainly because I can't hunt them out. I'll take whatever information they provide either from their profiles or conversation and search until I find them on insta or Facebook. I'm not digging for info but trying to confirm they are who they say they are. I'll look at who their pictures are with, who they're tagging, whether there's mutual friends anywhere, what their captions say. If I'm going to go on a date with them I'll send a couple of …

I do pole classes in a womens' gym. Even when they started doing mixed classes briefly, no men came. My studio has class options that either allow you to do strength based classes or exotic dancing, but the exotic classes are incredibly private and the videos are only ever posted on a private group for gym members if everyone in the class is OK with it. The vast majority who share videos themselves do it on private accounts set up specifically for pole that have no information about who they are…

I blocked all mine a couple of months ago and I swear they're creeping back in again.

It seems even more so at the moment. I mean, if I find someone unattractive then that's my thing, I'm not about to berate someone because I don't find them good looking. But in terms of my standards and what I'm attracted to, they're either not my thing or I've already dated them. So taking a break seemed like the better option.

The main word is "if". If he does this thing I'll reward him. A suit for some shoes? Nah mate. I'm fine with alternating who pays to some extent. But its not a given and it's dependent on whether I think it's worth it. Which isn't often.

Yes! I have a type and I rarely venture away from it. Occasionally I've been attracted to someone outside of that, but it's been rare. I've been told I'm too picky but hell to it, I know what I like.

A guy I'd been seeing for a couple of months. Seemed decent, put the effort in, seemed to really care. A lotta green flags. Anyway, one weekend he started getting super persuasive to have sex even though I told him I was on my period and it wasn't happening. Anyway, he left for work whilst I was still asleep and when I woke up I decided to not deal with it for now. But he rocked up that evening, apparently he'd told me when he'd left he was coming over even though I was asleep. He kept trying it…

I had this for a bit. But then they all broke up a year later.

When I was in my teens, I had mostly guy friends. The girls at my school (like everywhere) were awful (I was the quiet emo kid) so I ended up hanging out with a bunch of guys. They kinda looked after me and stuck up for me. So I always felt comfortable around them (seems like a wild thing to say in this sub) so I stuck with them. It was only when I went to uni that I realised that I could make female friends and not feel like I was going to get punched in the hallway. Now I probably still have m…

I swear this sub has changed my entire outlook. A couple of weeks ago I was moping about a guy who treated me like his insurance policy. Now I'll happily never see him again. In the bin, off you trot.

The social media approach freaks me out a bit. But only because I try and keep mine to only people I actually know. I always find to weird when someone follows or adds me and I don't know them. Which is annoying, cos there's definitely guys on there I'd like to connect with.

Yes! My ex of seven years didn't like the idea of me having a career. I worked in a job I hated but it was flexible, had loads of holiday and good maternity. His idea was he was progressing enough in his career that he could support me when we had kids. When I told him I wanted a new job that would mean working more hours, he wasn't happy and kept trying to talk me out of it. He didn't see the point if we were going to start a family. Four years later I'm in the career I always wanted 🖕🏼

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
