Subscribed to it. I mainly go on reddit to browse r/all so I don't hit the bjj sub very often. Might have to look in there more often. :)

Guarantee you could hold your own against most dudes already. It's amazing what changes with even a bit of knowledge.... especially if that knowledge is in jits lol. Keep at it brother, training has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Very true. The toughest guys I know are like 180lbs... they're just amazingly quick and precise.... can't hold a candle to their flame when it comes to the boxing side of things. I think the moral of the story is that you just should avoid picking fights period. I was just throwing out the big/experienced guy thing as real world experience of what was said earlier.

Well... in a lot of ways I think. Before I always had drama in my life, was in and out of trouble with cops, and lacked motivation to do much other than get drunk. Didn't see much of a future, so I just drank to forget about those problems. Obviously that is a short term solution to a complicated problem. After quitting completely, I went through some counseling to help me with a few of the heavier problems I had. Then I met my wife, a non drinker, less than a year after quitting. She supported …

Yep. Definitely wouldn't screw with a dude with a gun. In Canada it's pretty much impossible to legally carry a weapon. Even knives can be really sketchy because if you use it then it'll be suggested that you were carrying it with the intent to harm. Or something like that.

Gave it up about 8 years ago myself. I find that my life has gone so much better without it. Mind you I was a terrible drunk...

I'm 6'4, solid 260lb. Black belt in jiu jitsu with years of muay Thai/mma experience. Friggen blows my mind how many people have picked a bone with me. I'm usually really good at talking it down but man. Common sense says not to screw with somebody bigger than you

I've been married to my beautiful, loving wife now for 6 years. She's happy, the sex is great, my career is more successful than people I know who are twice my age, and the future is looking bright for our small family with many good prospects on the horizon. I attribute my life to having a solid foundation at home with my wife. I handle my relationship with her in a respectful way which tends to lead to win-win scenarios more often than not. None of this keeping score crap, no playing games wit…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
