This is what it comes down to. I've been single out of choice for 5 years. It's bliss - I do whatever the hell I want, when I want and exactly how I like it. No one tells me what to do, where to go, how to spend my money or time. I am mid 30s and can't ever see myself giving this up. I know how good it is when I look over the fence and see my friends who have lost their freedom, money and time because of kids and a nagging, hostile partner. I can guarantee this will happen to me (eventually) if …

This is depressing...for Indian men and women.

Mid 30s, I am on just shy of 200k. I am not obese, I am 5 10, and have had enough 'luck' with women in the past (learning the hard way). I guess that technically makes me 'successful' in terms of earnings but one does not necessarily feel successful after taxes and doing the actual work. Anyway, I have been single for 3 years now, while half-heartedly dating. None of it seems worth pursuing after I return home to my pad, fire up some games, grab a beer from the fridge etc. This is usually reaffi…

I think you have given middle-class men WAY too much status. Before dogs? Seriously? What have we done to deserve this?!

Why not just castrate us all instead?

We are not receivers, instinctively. We are the givers.

Sharing my story from the UK. We had this debate back in Britain back in the late 1990s. We were a proud and all-male Scout troop. The Scouting organisation went totally woke on us - even as far back as the late 90s. We had to change our classic (British) green shirts and cargo pants (literally how it all started) and swap them for a PURPLE shirt and GREY trousers. Seriously. We were threatened with expulsion from the org because we kept our uniforms for over two years. The Scouts, the leaders, …

They're just too demanding. And it's universal, not just in the west. Sex is easily available from prostitutes that you can just leave afterwards. Then you can still keep your peace

There are two people in a relationship; one of them is right, and the other one is male. painful shit.

What do you suggest we do then? Most people commenting here happen to live in democracies; we cede power to governments to enact change. Having a Minister for Men would be a lot better than not having one, at least men's issues would have a chance of being a bit more equal in importance compared to women's issues.

I wasn't even aware of the UK debate on having a Minister for Men. Great to see that. Men have their issues too, it shouldn't be the case that women's issues get the vast majority of airtime. Having a separate Minister for Men and another for Women would be a huge result of true gender equality. There are millions of impoverished, disadvantaged and ignored men in the UK who are faced with the added insult of being called privileged and responsible for the repression of women. All countries deser…

It wasn't "more or less" wound up in 476AD. This is total nonsense. The Roman Empire, the same state, continued way up until 1453. Right until the last day, the people of Constantinople identified as Romans. Even Modern Greeks just 100 years ago were labelled "Rum" by the Turks and always identified as Romans themselves. In all the sources from the Eastern Roman Empire, they identify as Romans. They just happened to be Greek-speaking, which was always an official language of the classical Roman …

Despite the double standards, I could never sink that low. There is no need to become that. We still have to preserve our dignity.

The allegations are damning, yes. I've never been a fan of him, I always thought he's completely up his own ass. Like, to the point where I wouldn't even have really wanted a single beer with him, despite his fame. Nevertheless, I defend his right to a fair process. Which he clearly isn't going to get. We now have mob mentality running rife and its concerning to see. In many ways, one could argue this is a media power grab.

The thought of being mocked by women, most of whom are defenceless and helpless (not all, most)...water off a ducks back to be honest.

It makes me laugh when I hear women tell me that marriage sucks for women. It does, but there is always a complete ignorance to how it sucks for men even more, I'm afraid. Marriage, in the modern era, is dangerous for men. In years gone by, men had authority, divorce was rare and literally EVERYONE got married. The juice was worth the squeeze in some ways. In addition, there were few other "options" as to how to run and execute your life. Few paths were open to most people, except the marriage p…

I was unfortunate enough to be in Orlando recently for a conference. Everything was low quality and expensive. I just don't get it. For less, you could take your family over to Europe for some proper culture and proper (edible) food

I experienced a lot of sexism aged around 9-11 years old. Looking back on it, it's pretty shocking. The boys were loathed by the (female) teachers, especially at that age.

I’m generalising here but it seems to me that Australia is one of the most sexist developed countries out there. Glad it’s not only me.

I’m sure there are lots of meetings about feelings. Openly “compassionate and caring” while bitching and shit stirring in the background.

It's not for everyone - these days I think people are most understanding of that. Unless of course, they see your lack of having a family/marriage as a slight to their own life. But that's not really your problem.

It is fine to be objectified as a sex object when jail term is hanging over her. Interesting.

I pretty much never go to the cinema. I'm not keen on celeb culture and supporting Hollywood either. BUT... I'll go out of my way to see this as a matter of principle. If it can happen to Depp, it can happen to any of us. Looks like an interesting movie too.

Ok, but how you used it, it means you don't give a fuck what i think about the topic or what? I assumed it was based as in, "based in truth." Solid statement. Grounded in reality etc

And it's mostly men who are rounded up and executed for being on the 'wrong team' e.g any remote association to the Americans or anything that goes against islamic theocracy like educating girls. It's young males who are press ganged into a life of combat. The men are totally expendable, as always.
