It was definitely a neg, and as an aside, in the future, no explanations or justifications needed - that's an energy and time sink and it does you absolutely no good. Simply block and move on.

You dodged a bullet, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. I wish you nothing but love and healing during this time. ❤️ As for him, he's cowardly scum, and I hope you won't fall for the "let's be friends" crap. He is not worthy of a single second of your time ever again.

Yes! My fiance proposed right around the year and a half point. Perfect timing. He knew what he wanted and was intentional about it. Meanwhile I have a pickme coworker (who is about to get a post of her own) who has five years and a baby on the way with her bf and he still won't propose. So sad. I would never have stayed.

You kinda touched on how I've been feeling lately about the incessant "you've come so far" statements. I myself was in a bad place four or five years ago. But I'll still have people say this stuff to me, and yeah, it rubs me the wrong way. That's a part of my life that I'd like to leave behind... Those statements just seem designed to kick me right back into the past. Like a backhanded compliment. They can't just say "great job" ... They just HAVE to remind me that things sucked for me a few yea…

I seriously had these vibes too - the "he would hurt her horse if she ever left him" vibes. Absolutely terrifying.

That's something I'd totally have fun doing with my fiance. If he'd taken me to do this on our first date, however, he never would have become my fiance.

He's watching porn, messaging other women, and flushing two rolls of toilet paper down the toilet each day to make it seem like he's got bowel problems. That about sum it up for her? Jeez, what a POS, no pun intended.

He probably wouldn't even know what aisle to go into at the grocery store if he had to buy them himself. Also, fruit snacks every day for a grown-ass man, omg.

Sooooo aside from all the other massive abuse here, he definitely wants to fuck his former student. It's highly possible he already has. Also, "kite surfing" 🙄 ... Girl, he is out cheating daily.

I think a lot of them just say they are, to sound interesting. Then you meet them and all they want to do is lay around and watch TV. Blech.

When I was in my early 20's I sold cell phones on commission and gave my business card to every customer. One guy thought I was giving him my number because I wanted to go out with him. He was a gross scrote lol

This is like the third topic in a row I've opened where I read that the woman essentially berates herself for "overreacting" or "caring about something frivolous" when in fact none of these things are frivolous. They are very real issues. I just want to scoop all these women up and tell them all: these issues MATTER! your feelings about them matter! If he wanted to, HE WOULD! My goodness, if my partner wanted to get me a gift right now, I'm sure he has a list of at least ten different things to …

I wouldn't, either. I have four cats, and my partner damn sure had to love each and every one of them for me to be with him. You also have to pay attention to the way the pet acts around the person. My best friend had a wonderful little cat named Yoshi. At one point Yoshi started acting withdrawn, wouldn't eat, started pooping blood. She was afraid it was illness, that she'd have to eventually put him down. Then one night when she woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, she overh…

100 PERCENT. I was a single mom before I met my now-partner... he has no kids and loves my daughter to death and she adores him. I REFUSED to date a single dad even though I had a child and was told I was being selfish or having a double standard. Too bad!! All of the points you made are 100 percent valid.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/12/21 07:08 PM
42

NO and NEVER, and I have a child myself. I was told it was a shitty double standard and guess what --- I didn't care because it was MY standard. That was something I held out for and I'm SO glad I did. Never, ever, ever date a single dad. Even if you have kids. Men leave the mothers of their children for VASTLY different reasons than women leave the fathers of their children. We leave out of fear, or because they are worthless. They leave because they want to be "free" again or again, because …

Yep. I have YET ANOTHER friend who engaged in polyamory at her husband's request. It made her so miserable. He wanted to have threesomes with other women too. Eventually my friend had enough, took their daughter, left, and is now engaged to a wonderful woman. And her ex husband is all alone. Lol. I love it.

I know a small circle of poly people and tbh they're the most fucked up people I know. The people they bring around are so weird, there's no boundaries with their kids, the whole thing is just bizarre. I can't believe any woman would want to live like that. I also know a woman who is a "solo poly" who is dating a married man (whose wife quite obviously is no longer interested in sex with him) and she INCESSANTLY posts about it on Facebook, how "empowering" and "valid" it is. It's always the ones who aren't any good at it, too. I'm ashamed to say I had an ex who thought he was amazing in bed, and he was obsessed with sex like this and didn't understand why women wouldn't be. Holy SHIT, what an abuser. Ignoring/the silent treatment is one of the WORST forms of emotional abuse, hands down. My ex used to use it as a torture method and to this day, six years later, I get terrified that I'm being abandoned if someone doesn't even text me back quickly.

People say that those with NPD can change their behavior and not abuse. That may be so, but I'll keep treating it like the "is he really a nice guy or not" concept: I'm not going to stick around to find out which of them can, and which of them can't. I will continue to avoid them all like the plague at all costs, and assume they won't, for my safety.

It's also completely meaningless. Is he paying child support? Is he actually helping her? Is he there for the kids?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 10:59 PM

Agreed completely. Men SHOULD always put the mother of their children before any other woman, and their children before another woman.

Some psycho dude on a dating site planned our entire future before we even met on the first date and sent me like 14 novel-sized messages after I told him I was uncomfortable and didn't want to go out with him anymore. He was like, "WELL, I'VE been dating for ten years and this has never happened before!" Yeah dude I'm just so sure it hasn't.

Yeah. Men with children are literally never worth it. The reasons they leave their children's mothers are completely different than the reasons women leave their children's fathers.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 10:27 PM

Oh, blech. Men abandon the mothers of their children all the time and then do something or the other to try and make it look like they're such good dads and men. Just do it and quit bragging about it if you're so great. Chances are high he ran off with another woman or at least didn't try too hard to work it out with his family.

I'd take it too. Lol

Yep!! Control and abuse, leading to her dependency on him. You nailed it.

Girl no. No no no. If someone lives in a city and has no need for a car that wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but the rest of it is a HOT MESS.

I would consider this rape too.

Lordy, this is a "block and delete" if I ever heard one. The red flags are through the roof.

Girl, why would you WANT to maintain this friendship??

Someone here said "our love is what made them beautiful" and I think that's true. Once the spell wore off, we could see them as they really were.

well this is fucking insane. glad you got away from it all.

Riiiiight! I used to date a dude who was literally almost a different person each day, but when I talked about my feelings once it was "weird." Okay???

I posted this awhile ago on another thread, but after I was a PickMe who let men do whatever they want, I went through this phase of begging and demanding that they treat me with respect, thinking it was somehow better. It was actually worse. Walk the fuck away from any man who doesn't know how to treat you right.

The thing is, it doesn't matter if your intuition about it was "right" or "wrong." If you felt uncomfortable, that's what matters.

My ex's brother admitted to joining the Marines because he wanted to kill people. It's insane.

For real though. It's super weird to me.

They don't actually think that. They just want to abuse you into staying.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/06/20 01:09 PM

yep! they will gaslight the shit out of you and make you believe you are controlling just for having standards. and it works on so many women, it makes me so sad!

and sometimes it's from the SAME people! I was an ugly duckling in high school and am good looking now, and I still get messages from dudes I knew back in the day who are like OMG I soooo wish I was nicer to you!! And I'm married! Ugh.

This this this this this times a million. If I had a nickel for every time I'd done this crap during my pick me days... I always wanted to have the last word, get the upper hand. By responding, I NEVER HAD THE UPPER HAND. It just fed them my precious energy.

I didn't read that post. I'm sad that happened, though.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/05/20 09:24 PM

Yep! They WANT you to clap back. You're giving them your energy. They aren't bothered by negative responses; they just want any kind of responses and to waste your time. The thing that would bother them the most is to be ignored, and it also doesn't take our energy to do that.

Do. Not. Respond.

This is too similar to "we need to forgive those who have done us wrong." No we don't! I can let go of my anger towards my terrible ex, but I do not wish him well, nor do I need to in order to heal and be whole.

This was years ago, I'm married now to a good dude. But I went through at least a year and a half of that hell.

In between phase 1, total pickmeisha who let men do whatever they wanted, and phase 3, queen who would immediately send these scrotes to the curb, I went through this phase 2, where I THOUGHT I was showing my worth by staying around way too long and demanding that these LVM treat me with respect. Except... They're LVM, so instead of treating me right, they were just typical LVM who treated me like I was a crazy bitch. I honestly think this phase was worse for my mental health than phase 1.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 03:34 AM

Agreed 💯, I did not come to this subreddit to walk on eggshells to make sure I'm not too "mean" when talking about men. Lol.

Eddie Murphy has like ten kids with ten women. He's the epitome of LVM.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/04/20 12:21 PM

HVM won't do this, though, so it'll be easier than ever to spot the trash.
