Pretty sure my ex is a lesbian now too. Makes you feel wierd as a man to lose a woman and see her with another woman. She needed to go though... I guess I've one man's trash is another woman's... slightly less trashy trash?

I feel you brother. Try my best not to use the word hate though. More like despise, disdain, pity (she has the eternal victim complex, hard not to feel sorry for someone like that), etc. Wanted nothing more than to see her dead for a while, so very glad friends and family talked me off THAT ledge. Only my daughter would have suffered...

Ouch, her being a teenager probably made it way worse. They'll say or do almost anything to get what they want. I was accused of molesting my own 4 yr old. Literally NO ONE who knows us and has seen me with my kids believes a drop of it. Not my family, friends, acquaintances, CPS, courts, judge, sheriff, NO ONE. But it still cost me close to $20k in attorney fees that I didn't have (and I think it led me losing my job too, my performance suffered and I was missing some time). I'll never get that…

Congrats on the healing. I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm over her, but months after the divorce was finalized I feel like she's still using my kid as a weapon against me, telling her things that have absolutely no purpose but to try and estrange her from me. She left me, I moved onto someone else first and I think the jealousy made her far worse. But then again I don't think she will ever stop no matter my situation. Truly think in her heart of hearts she believes that I do not deserve happine…

Yes, this. I've always thought of this sub as an emotional support group. Lot of good advice as well, stuff I wish I'd known back when everything happened. Ok probably wouldn't have listened though, I'm pretty stubborn when I'm angry...

Yikes that's pretty insane. Luckily this situation is not quite that extreme. I mean she's that crazy but she also has a very good paying job and a house (One which I used to have claim to but I gave it up in exchange for $50,000 and 5 years of no child support as part of our settlement), and gives off the appearance of being very responsible and stable to everyone it seems like. Well except for myself and my family who has seen the worst of her. I don't have a whole lot to work with. I went ahe…

It's one thing to take the high road, it's another to feel like a damn constant punching bag. My next step is to call CPS on her, for emotional and mental abuse. Apparently I can't file for emergency custody without claim of physical or sexual abuse and I refuse to lower myself to that level without knowledge of that activity happening. At least not yet. If she keeps up then I might have to go that low just to get my daughter out of there...

That might not be the case in every state though. We're in North Carolina where men get screwed pretty hard, but I will say when I was forced to pay child support it was to be paid directly to my ex. There was no escrow or government intervention in the funds themselves. Unless there's some wonky child support tax law I'm unaware of, they don't have their hands in THAT at least...

5 CPS visits now. Police involved. Dragging my 4 year old daughter into the ER for signs of sexual abuse to support her bogus claims (surprise: nothing found). Accusing my girlfriend's 4 year old son of molesting our daughter. Divorce finally ends after a year and a half of court battles. She wanted sole custody, I wanted primary custody, knowing that if she continued with primary custody that it would be an ongoing battle to be with my kid. She wins primary custody but I guess is unhappy that I…

Happening to me as well currently. She seems to have NO regard for my daughter's emotional well being - ALL she appears to care about is making my life hell. She can clearly see that my daughter and I have a very close relationship and that she loves me more than anything... and I'm pretty sure that's what is triggering the psychosis...

Happy father's day! Got surprised with a fourth complaint of child abuse by CPS from my super fucking crazy ex-wife. The fourth time they've invaded my new girlfriend's home asking bullshit questions even to my 4-year-old daughter, that they know are false. And it's North Carolina so apparently she can do it as much as she wants with no penalty. Yeah, Happy fucking Father's Day...

It's almost like they're all following the same script. Even my current GF claims she can never understand why a woman would want to keep their kids from their dad. But then again she never went through a divorce, she's a widow. Not sure which is worse at this point...

Similar situation. Accused of sexual allegations against my own daughter by my vindictive ex. The last year and a half were the hardest time in my life. I burned through almost every penny I had. Never gave up though. She never relented from wanting me to have like one visit a month or something stupid. In the end I never even got joint, it's all about the money I think for her. She wasn't going to give up that child support without a fight. Women are absolutely evil in these situations. I'll ne…

I wish I had heard this advice at the start of my divorce. Especially regarding attorneys. My divorce just wrapped up and I spent an ungodly amount of money. Probably over a full years salary in just over a year and a half. Drained my savings, drained my retirement, and took out a loan. Nearly maxed my credit. I think my ex realized how effective it was to drain my finances and keep baiting me into doing stupid things (reacting with anger and then she claims I'm "threatening" her). When she firs…

I missed that you have a child with her. So you'll be in each other's life in some capacity for a while. I'm in that situation now and my ex refuses to co-parent. Make sure when it comes time for custody court (and if she's anything like my ex it WILL go to court), that you fight like hell for your kid. My ex came to custody court wanting full sole custody with me having an hour visitation a month. I had a decent lawyer and I put a lot of time and money into building a case for myself where I as…

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. Had a baby early 2019, was laid off in July, COVID starts not long after. Took a major toll on mental health just like you, relationship deteriorated pretty quickly. I had a breakdown later, she left, said she would come back if I got help but I got help and nothing got better. This is obviously a condensed version of the story, I didn't do well for a while. Turns out I'm pretty sure she was cheating on me. Sometimes women just suck. Best way I got ove…

I met the woman of my dreams about 9 months after The date of separation. I wasn't ready yet but she was also going through a hard time and we bonded quickly. Almost a year in and I've never been happier. I was having the same problem brother, seeing the same qualities in all the women I was talking to. Then I found her, or I should say she found me. It's been heaven ever since, not without the occasional difficulty but that's life. Give it some time, you'll get back out there when you're ready …

It totally sucks but they're right. You're probably not ready and women will sense that. It gets better though, just takes a while sometimes... I did nothing but strike out until I was actually ready. Then it was like a whole new me emerged. You'll see that a lot here. Because it's true.

I'm a big believer in that statement, that it was "your turn". That seems to be the way the world works. I'm also a hopeless romantic and serial monogamist, and I've already found someone else. I hope I'm not making the same mistake twice 😂

Being cheated on sucks no way around it. My divorce was recently finalized and I just found out recently she was very likely cheating on me at least a few months before our separation (found files including pictures of other men on my computer via a one drive account she was using and didn't know it was going to the cloud and to my account.. She was using a laptop I gave her when hers died). Knowing that then would have killed me but now it's a feeling of vindication because I knew she was shady…

I've always wondered how the heck could they even enforce that. I haven't been to court for final child custody yet but I honestly have no idea what my daughter is up to when she's with with her mom, she doesn't make that very clear to me, we don't have communication. Are you required to somehow let them know when you're not going to be watching your kids and wouldn't they have to prove that they weren't with you?

My mediation cost me about 4k out of pocket and accomplished exactly jack shit. The mediator was supposedly one of the best and very confident. My STBX was 30 mins late and refused to be in the same room. She's still clinging to the claim of domestic violence even though the judge threw out the DVPO last December. After 9 exhausting hours, we'd somehow managed to go BACKWARDS. The mediator was flabbergasted and amazed. I made dozens of concessions trying to move her towards joint custody (to me …

Nobody I know understands why she's being like this. I guess only I know the insideouts of our relationship but I never did anything that comes to mind that warrants this behavior. She's literally trying to erase me from her life. She has to comply with court ordered visitation but if the judge doesn't order it, she won't do a single thing to help me or our daughter. It's infuriating having an adversary like this. She used to be my best friend, it's hard to get used to this new "normal".

I like the attitude but my daughter is 3 and is my life. I only get her Wed-Sun EoW as it is. She wanted to pull me back to Fri-Sun and my lawyer and the mediator made it abundantly clear that the judge is not going to remove the time I have now and will possibly/likely give me joint once this goes to court. I've tried to talk her into settling with me and she won't give. I made an overly generous global settlement offer months ago which she rejected/picked apart, so I told my attorney I would n…

This, 100%. Its taken almost a year but I'm getting there. And people see the change. It's amazing to me how much I HAVE changed. I was ready to put a gun in my mouth and now I'm more successful in my career, can manage my time 100% how I see fit, and have found God and a church and dozens of MALE friends which I never had before when I was with her. I'm also seeing someone else in possibly the best/easiest/sexiest relationship I've ever been in. Downside is not having my daughter enough but I'm…

That's what I've had to do too. l Just automatically assume that everything is going to be shitty behavior or ignoring/stonewalling, and am learning not to expect or even hope for anything else. It's made it tremendously easier to deal with. I'm never surprised anymore. They're (she and her mom) are treating my mom like shit too which pisses me off, and (I'm pretty sure) are now telling my 3yr old things like "daddy doesn't love you", and "daddy does bad things to you". All four of those definitely applied to my marriage. She hit me with all four on a regular basis and as a result I developed my own contempt and defensiveness. I always thought I liked being with strong-willed independent women because I can handle them. I don't know if I'll make that mistake again 🤣

Women never want a gentle caring man. That's a lie we've all been force fed. The challenge is breaking that cycle if you've been raised that way like I was. That's what happens when your father is not involved in your mother was the dominant caregiver. Women want a strong stoic rock that they can lean into because women are naturally more volatile and emotional. Our masculine energy is designed to be strong and reliable and a counter to their emotional volatility. I'm a work in progress in that …

I feel you man. I got fat and lazy with my wife, gave in to just hanging out with her circles with friends instead of my own, let her manage way too many important decisions because she's very independent and it was easier, got slack with my kid, didn't address my own mental issues, the list goes on and on. I carry an unbelievable amount of guilt, it sounds like you do too. But trust me when I say that that will not make anything better. It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on where you …

I know when I hear about things like Johnny Depp situation it just totally reinforces to me how garbage women can be. I'm not saying he's a total innocent here none of us ever are, but look what that bitch has put him through. This is so true. But that goes back to his point, never capitulate to a woman and let her shake you out of your frame. Because they'll just keep doing it and keep finding new shit tests and keep finding ways to keep you off balance. My goal right now is to find my own center and get grounded in it so strongly that no woman can ever shake me loose. Once I've reached that point I'll go back out there and try again.

I feel like I'm replying to every comment here but this is so hitting close to home. We took a big turn for the worst after my kid was born. It was a double whammy of me actually getting the postpartum depression which was scary and unexpected. Lack of sleep will do that to you. And then it seemed like now that she was a mom she no longer wanted to be a wife or have to be intimate with me anymore. That was kind of the final nail in the coffin looking back, because I didn't take it well and thing…

I agree with this too. You get comfortable and lazy when you're married it seems like unless you fight actively to resist that trap. Like a lot of guys I quit dating my wife and took her for granted and she did the same with me. This in turn would just turn into a roommate situation, except as a man I still had intense feelings for my wife that I didn't know how to express to her because she couldn't reciprocate. And naturally things imploded on themselves. And as anybody here will tell you, hav…

Oh my God this 100% is so true. The last girl I dated after my divorce had me convinced I was for her and she was for me and we were going to be this great thing. About a month later she flipped the script and sent me this long teary-eyed massive text message about how neither of us were ready for relationships, and how she just wasn't "feeling" it. What actually happened was she found another guy who was younger than me, more shredded than me, and a complete and total shameless flirt. And she f…

Yep this is pretty much how it goes. I've had a lot of really good looking girlfriends too as well a gorgeous wife and there is indeed a never-ending line of dudes waiting their turn. I wouldn't call them men, they haven't earned the right with their behavior. It's like a teenager mentality where they think with their dick and have no brain to back it up. And don't get me started on the "simps"...

This is true, if your woman is good looking there's always men waiting in the wings. Simp culture has become a real problem in my opinion. Too many "men" willing to hang in the shadows and the DMS of your girl waiting for their turn. Total and complete lack of integrity across the board. It really sickens me.

In sickness and in health doesn't mean much these days to your average woman. As soon as the situation takes a turn for the worst they're already looking for that next dick to jump on. Of course I'm a little cynical and bitter right now but it is what it is.

I don't think anything could have saved my marriage either outside of a miracle from God himself. I've come to the conclusion that she had checked out a couple years prior and had probably been waiting for the opportunity. All evidence since the separation points to that being true. Women are just different from us men. I was talking to a buddy last night who agreed it would have been easier and better to cohabitate with his ex for the sake of their child. Can you see many women agreeing to that…

I actually went insane in a sexless marriage. It wasn't completely sexless but was so rare that it may as well have been. I had a break, she got scared and left and that was that. It's been brutal and awful, but now I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus once you're single sex is on the table again all you have to do is find it and it's pretty easy these days tbh. You'll still see your little girl, even if you have to settle for EOW. You can also fight for 50/50 which is what I'm do…

Just remember what you put into the universe is what you get back. Right now it feels like everything is sh*tting on you, but it can also be a matter of perception. What I mean is that if you can mentally put a spin on things to make it more positive, you'll reap the rewards of that positivity. Look up the law of attraction. Also I'm sorry about your mother, my mother has the same diagnosis just recently. We'll all get through it brother.

Fight for that kiddo! I'm finding if you fight hard and show that you WANT to be a healthy active father, the courts will usually get you EOW at the very least. Be prepared for a war but as men we're more than equipped for a drawn out battle. Stay strong!

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but I enjoyed I Prevails album "Trauma". It's not exactly that deep but it puts a big ass spotlight on mental illness, depression, anger, sadness, etc. The song "Let Me Be Sad" hit me pretty hard the first time I heard it.

/r/Divorce_Men29/01/22 08:48 PM

That's the goddamn truth, no one wins in divorce. It sucks but be careful which hill you choose to die on. As long as you put your kid first and everything else secondary, you'll find yourself making good decisions. Even if those decisions somehow benefit your ex as well, as long as you're doing it for the kid it's worth it.

If you haven't already get a lawyer and file for emergency parental custody. If you're a good dad and she doesn't have anything she can show that makes you look like a drug addict or worse, you can expect with the very least to get every other weekend and in your case, probably 50/50. I heard California is good at that.

I'm not normally one to advise addictions but video games is a solid one when you need to escape for a while, and it doesn't have any chemical addictive properties. I myself spend a month or two playing way too many video games when I was coping with the worst of it. It's still pretty bad but I feel like I'm clear of the manic depression so I've given up the gaming for now to focus on more important things. But when you're right smack there in the shit it's a good distraction!
