Myer's Briggs was invented so they have a few things that sound right much like a broken clock is right twice a day. Big Five was discovered as a rule of nature which is that individuals vary on these 5 dimensions. Not just in humans but in all animals. i.e. A high openness rabbit will wander a larger radius further from its home than a low-openness rabbit.

Great questions! Thanks for the thoughtful post and for listening :) You make a great point and I will ask him your question on air.

Let me try to clear up some confusion here - there is no "left/right" "winner/loser" in evo psych. It's a continuum in the shape of a bell curve - so most people are somewhere in the middle with each extreme getting rarer and rarer as it gets more extreme. The rest of what you said, I still can't put my finger on it, so I'll leave it be. You're trying to say something, but I don't quite know what. Other than disagreeing with "evolutionary psychology" in general, I don't know where to go from her…

I'm not really sure what you're trying to ask. I read your last comment on air from the post 2 weeks ago and Dr. Lisle couldn't understand what you were trying to say either. You've got some ideas and some questions in there, I can tell, and if you can try to ask/explain them in a slightly different way, perhaps we can go over it. My offer still stands, however, to do a pre-recorded one-on-one call with you and Dr. Lisle - it may help us answer your questions better. If you're thinking it, chanc…

Great questions and thanks for listening! Also after episode 13 I've realized you guys have fielded questions from what I assume are redpillers about Hypergamy. There was a failure to connect Dr. L to the redpill bc we see Hypergamy as the most attractive fertile girls in western society jumping from guy to guy in fast succession but Dr. L only has the perspective of science and men spreading their genes. It seems to be a problem of perception on males out there right now vs. a strong evolutiona…

I'm still learning all of this. Why not iTunes? It's not video, so we likely will not do YouTube, but I'm open to other podcast platforms. How do you like stitcher?

Thanks for listening! We may take some papers and dissect them in the future, however, we are already probably pushing it in terms of the esoteric & deep thinking nature of the podcast. We don't want to bore people too badly either. Currently, we are trying to balance theory & entertainment so we don't lose too many listeners. There is nothing like this out there currently, so we have time. :)

Whether you're trying to bluff your way into getting hotter mates, better business opportunities, or better friends, that will end up being either short-term until "the wig falls off" or very superficial long-term. Finding happiness is not a short-term strategy nor is it skin-deep. Edit: It's not for the faint of heart, either. There are some very insightful and potentially painful realities that people must face about themselves in order to orient themselves appropriately to begin their own jou…

Thanks for the offer - it would be fun, but I struggle with social phobias. I'm safe in one on one or one on two situations, but with an audience listening, it would be a trainwreck. Any debate would be over, before it began, in favor of whatever position I'm not taking. If you're interested, we can do a private pre-recorded one-on-one session with you and Dr. Lisle and then see how it goes and if you're comfortable afterwards, I can replay it. I've done that before with one of the episodes. Dr.…

There's many reasons for misanthropy. Usually it has to do with being on the ends of the bell curve of a few personality traits. For example - Agreeability - someone who is on the very low agreeability end of the bell curve (say..10th percentile) is a person who does not feel like life is fair unless things go their way 90% of the time. Since everyone else is closer to 50/50, the 90/10's live their whole life feeling chiseled and cheated on just about everything. Intelligence - if someone is ver…

Great questions. I'll read them. Dr Lisle didn't invent water fasting, there is a long history of its use from certain physicians around the world. He is the research director for True North Health Center - an integrated medical facility that includes medically-supervised water-only fasting as its therapeutic options. I worked there as a staff doctor supervising patients during their fasts. Answering your question about fasting is beyond the scope of this thread because it absolutely will get de…

We broadcast live. You are welcome to call in and have an intellectual discourse. You raise some good questions and I give you credit for editing away the intellectually-deficient phrases that surrounded them. Listen to more than just 1 episode and see if some of the ideas that seem "out there" start to make some sense. Evo Psych can seem a bit esoteric. Think on it, let the ideas percolate, revisit, and see if it comes together. Again, feel free to call in and comment/ask questions. That's what…

The main reason why there is contempt for fat people from an ingrained evolutionary sense is that their weight is visual evidence that they are taking far more than their fair share of the village food supply. Today, failure to maintain weight is perceived by the public (laypeople) as evidence of low conscientiousness, low willpower, and low intelligence, however, this is not true, scientifically. It has everything to do with the food & environment (very rich, high calorie-density foods that are…

The podcast is not intended to be a "TRP Podcast". Rather, evo-psych was an interest of mine and so I made the podcast. When we got to the subject of Sex/Dating/Relationships, I found out about TRP while researching. Like I said in a previous post, the posts on TRP are interesting and seem to make sense in some ways, but they distinctly lack many fundamentals and because of that some of their conclusions are way off base. However, I've talked about TRP specifically w Dr. Lisle (off-air) and we d…

We touched on this a few shows back. Part of the answer is that we are generally a pair-bond species (not necessarily for life, but for a good few years for the average). Also, a pair-bond is phenomenally more profitable for everyone involved - just think of how much more someone can accomplish if you have a partner on the same mission who can help. So, fertility isn't all of it, although it's a lot especially as people hit reproductive age. However, as fertility declines, the pair-bond desire d…

Some of the TRP that I've read is in line with the research. However, there are places where TRP itself over-reaches not out of bad intentions but because of oversight of some basic fundamentals. Keep in mind, this is a psychologist with clinical experience working with all kinds of people on every side of a conflict. Seems to make sense to me so far. Thanks for checkin it out, though.

Thank you for this write-up! Really, really appreciate it. This podcast started as just a hobby for me and it's fun to discuss this w Dr. Lisle on air and get a broader understanding of the world. Really good points. If you ever want to come on the show and have a discussion about this, we'd love to have you. I'll definitely bring these up, but you seem to know your position much better and I can't do it enough justice just by picking out the questions on air. You make some good points, but let's make sure we're on the same page. When I say a "6/10", it effectively means that this person is more attractive (fewer gene mutations) than about 60% of the population. IOW they "are in the 60th percentile" of attractiveness. So, of course, it is seen in context with the competition. However, it also means that by definition not everyone will ever be a 10 or even close. Looks is only part of attraction - mates evaluate us on the whole package - your looks, ho…

Great question. We're getting ahead of ourselves but here we go anyway. Let's say you're born a 5/10. With some really hard work through lifting, getting a good job, being friendly, etc.. you can fully express yourself as a true 5 and therefore you'll likely get the mates/resources that a "5" will get. From what I've read at these forums, some people believe that they can genetically be at a 5 and work hard to become a 7-8 through lifting, game, and finances. However, that is not true. More like…

Ultimately, the "implications" is what the entire podcast is about - that people will wind up following their genes which may or may not result in happiness. In fact, in some cases it absolutely will not. Your genes are designed to get you to behave in a way that gets you to survive & reproduce. They are not designed to optimize your life experience & happiness. Oftentimes you can have both but we have an ancient brain living in a modern environment so the podcast is about outsmarting your genes…

Great question! We touched on this during the last episode. The answer is this: As we've evolved into having a society, women also compete for the man's resources which he only typically shares if he's developed a pair-bond with a woman - (pair bonds form through friendships and through sex). It's also why women slut-shame - because casual sex has the potential to establish a pair bond with a male, who will then be more willing to share his resources. He explains it much better over a few shows,…

In what way? In terms of size and strength, women aren't as strong or big but I'm not sure what you mean because the question is so broad. If you can be more specific, I'd be happy to present the question.

These are great questions! Thank you! I will be asking these exact questions on the show. Edit: In past shows, specifically, Gender Dynamics & last week's show we went over marriage and how it is not really a natural process given how society is set up with barriers to exit (like expensive alimony, societal pressure, etc..)
