That is the problem yeah. At least the initial one. The larger problem is that those irrational feelings/actions are then validated somehow. Either by her online audience or (imo worse) people she's close to IRL. And the reason for that larger problem should be studied & understood. IMO it's because of something like- the current culture does not allow us to push back and say "hey, no that's wrong", because the past decade or so has been all about validating their feelings without taking the tim…

Yeah it sucks. The idea of being 5 years into marriage with kids, and finding out my wife has one of those parent shaming tok tok account sharing very personal and one sided takes of my behaviour is pretty scary to me. Not just because of the disrespect from her (and probable consequences of that- divorce), but also the reputation destruction. Specifically regarding the example I gave in #2, I can think of examples of my sister acting this way when we were very young... She would be the last rea…

You've really nailed it lol that's exactly my experience... Recently I managed to make progress in that I tried to collate all the things they did that upset me and I was able to see that I was valid in being upset by these things... I had internalised that the problem was my anger/reaction to their behaviour. Having that feeling really helped me to be more at peace. One part I'm still stuck on is working out if I can call it manipulation... I think because initially I thought manipulation requi…

Some examples from my personal experience with family members... 1) They will offer you a choice, but secretly want/expect you to pick one specific option (usually because they want the other one)... When you don't pick the one they expect, their desire to get what they want trumps their need to play these games. And you asking them to not do this is apparently more rude than their behaviour. Example: Her: "We have 2, would you like red or blue?" Me: "Red please" Her: "... actually... I'd quite …

I've seen many cases online and a few irl where there were very obvious signs that a certain guy wasn't going to treat them well. Does he regularly gets into fights and seems to pick weaker people to physically intimate/bully? Then he'll probably do the same to a girlfriend... Does he openly admit to cheating on his last few partners and seems to not really show remorse for it? Then he'll probably cheat again... Does he have 2 or more kids by different mothers? Then he'll probably pressure you i…

First of all I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. It really sucks to lose someone and I sincerely hope you're doing OK. I'm also glad that you got some kind words from a colleague. It can make a huge difference to know someone both doesn't judge you and wishes you well, and thinks you're doing a good job. To answer the title question - when did you realise you aren't the problem - I think I first realised there was a problem with the "feminist agenda" a few months after I was exposed to fem…

I won't deny that. But in my experience it's more likely to be women doing this, or at least it's more likely for others to tell her she does nothing wrong when she does this. Whereas if it's a guy doing it people will tell him he isn't communicating well.
/r/MensRights05/07/24 05:17 PM

The examples I can think of include women in relationships who will hold their tongue when something bothers them, so they don't communicate their wants or issues clearly. This then becomes anger which they vent to their friends, colleagues & family (even online- see partner shaming videos), and they also seem to think somehow this should be solving the problem... So inevitably when it does not cause their partner to change they repeat the cycle and get more and more worked up in the process... …

Close social circles tend to have people who have some shared values, so there are high chances that they do agree with their delusional friends. The same goes to online communities. A mixture. Realising I'm making progress but also that I still have a long way to go. My main current goal is to try to have more consistency in terms of healthy/productive habits. And that in turn helps me reach all my secondary goals, so I'm trying to keep that up. More examples/notes on red pill below. One of the first examples of incorrect advice guys tend to notice is in dating. Guys are told "just be nice & be yourself", though lots quickly see this does not work and that actually the assholes have more success. They hear women say they can't find a man who earns enough for them, or that isn't educated enough/tall enough/other for them. They find out about hypergamy. They find out about how most marriages end in divorce and that most divorces are initi…

So most of it has been covered already but I thought I'd add a little bit of my own opinions. Blue pill- is the view that most of us are taught growing up. It's an acceptance of mainstream narratives, and is either ignorant or refuses to acknowledge complex issues where men at victims/have unfair standards forced upon them. It portrays women as victims (both historically and at present), and says men need to change their behaviour to not fall into their toxic masculine behaviours. As with the ma…

Refreshing somewhat, but to me it still felt like it still hasn't quite sunk in for her... My friend Sally, a lovely 55-year-old with eyes the colour of Eau de Nil, once said to me: constantly feel unwanted as a woman because feminism taught us that the traditional female was a stereotype invented by men to keep us down. Accordingly, was anti-men to the point of driving them away. Now, I'm paying for this! Her friend Sally is lovely! Just so lovely she is. Let me describe the colour of her eyes …

Brainwashed maybe but she absolutely had choices. Being single (when she clearly doesn't want to be) at 30, then 35, then 40, then 45, then 50... All of those years she could have taken the time to reflect on her world view, her choices, and whether she should change something about herself... But she never did. She has to take responsibility for that, don't allow her to pass the blame onto her "brainwashing" when it's convenient for her.

One case I can think of is where there's a high amount of effort but it's applied to the wrong place. A case where a woman & man are dating, and the man is either not doing something that she wants or is doing something that she doesn't like. I've seen many cases where she hides her feelings on this, then speaks to lots of people about it to vent her feelings & ask for solutions (including her friends, family, coworkers, etc). She gets more and more frustrated by the issue not being resolved, an…

The other response I've heard is: "well you only seem to care about male victims when I bring women who are victims so you're just shooting down an important discussion by saying wHaT aBoUT mEn..." Which is also imo tied for most bs answer. They bring up female victims to support their arguments, with the implication that it is a gendered issue that men don't suffer from... when you try to show them that that is not correct and that this affects men too, they dismiss it.

I had some thoughts about this question but can't answer at the top level so hope you don't mind if I dunno then here. I have met a number of women (also some men but mostly women) who seem to have managed to go through life without being challenged on their beliefs or held accountable for holding contradictory views/double standards. True he didn't say 100%, I could've worded my comment better. The point I was trying to make is saying "women dominate" those fields isn't going to help convince people that articles/attitudes like this are an issue... Instead they'll just say/think mens rights guys over generalise and that we think women are only intelligent enough to have dumb jobs. I push back because I want to be able to call out something I disagree with no matter which side it's on. Supporting someone or a movement isn't a…

Dude I don't think it's helpful to generalise that much. It might be true for a certain % of the population but it's definitely not true for all women, and phrasing arguments that way will just make the discussion confrontational. Personally I think a better argument would be that the articles like this are biased in that they see any stat like this as an issue that needs to be fixed, but if it were reversed (i.e. men were less satisfied) then they'd call it a win for women (and either imply or …
/r/MensRights09/05/24 03:55 PM

Agreed, I'm not a fan of articles like this that clearly show bias but I'm also not a fan of people saying that most/all women do XYZ or whatever. It makes it so much harder to have important conversations when they start being confrontational with over-generalisations. They should make a case better and not generalise so much.
/r/MensRights09/05/24 03:50 PM

You can see patterns with these types of articles. If women are perceived as worse off by a certain metric it is deemed to be a problem that needs to be fixed. Whereas if women do better by a certain metric (i.e. meaning men do worse) then it is deemed as a win for "equality"... The double standards are showing. Also is a 5% difference really that significant that it warrants an article/ government funding /initiatives/changes to workplace policies in order to correct it? (Or whatever they're ar…

Are you US based? I'm in the UK and luckily haven't experienced this at my workplace... We do have some out spoken feminists but (very luckily) they seem to be semi decent in that when they've argued for changes they've actually done a decent job of being equal. E.g. when they campaigned to upper management to improve the maturity policy they also got them to improve the paternity policy. I'd be interested to hear any stories you can share from your job

It depends, I don't think you can say it's likely to be as you outlined but that is one of the possible scenarios. Another scenario is that she is in the situation-ship because either she doesn't want to commit to a proper relationship, or because she doesn't want to have the conversation about committing to a proper relationship. I feel your post only outlined the case where a woman is trying to secure the guy as she perceives him as worthy of a relationship. And while that does exist, I believ…

Personally I wouldn't say never show my emotions/open up, as I do believe that in order to have a deep connection you do need to be vulnerable. I'm just very careful about who I do open up to. I've had ex's complain that I didn't share things with them, then when I did they would be supportive at the time... Yeah, it's frustrating for sure. I think part of the issue is that there are no consequences if they (either people here on IRL) choose to dismiss your point of view. They can just glance at each other with a look of "oh boyyy... Didn't realise this guy was a {loser/misogynist/MRA/incel/ insert other name here}... The red pill only makes sense if you live in a city where dating is shallow and harsh, like Miami or something. If someone was to tell you that they've experienced this would you believe them or deny it? I have many examples of things like this happening to me, and that's not just for one city or even country. For example I had a "relationship" with this girl (when we were both late teens/early 20s), which was more of a: we hang out all the time, do all the things that couples would do including…

It's a combination of things. The main one imo is that the idea of committing to one guy is scary for them (understandably to some extent). Not just because theres a lot of anxiety about picking the wrong person, but also because the dopamine hit you get from someone you've been dating for a few weeks will dwindle compared to the hit you get from the dating apps or Instagram DMs... So this cycle of matching, dating, getting bored and getting on the apps again continues round and round. And inste…

It's the same as when guys get mad when they are told no. Reality didn't match their expectations, rejection stings, and they aren't emotionally healthy enough to deal with their anger in a mature way. I do think there's been a big push in the last 10 years or so to tell men how bad it is to do this... Unfortunately these messages have almost exclusively been aimed at men so lots of women now are unaware that they can/do act in the same way and that they shouldn't do that.

So your pov seems to be that this content is made for men because there is an audience of men who will watch it because it plays into their "revenge" fantasy that women actually want them and will be sorry when they hit "the wall". I will agree that in some cases they jump to conclusions, e.g. the case where the woman was actually married with kids and uses the filter to see what she looked like as a teenager. However I think you're mistaken to imply that they are wrong/that the guys who watch a…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/23 12:13 PM

I strongly disagree. Women cannot sense anything, especially if a guy is toxic and tries to put on a front. That why almost every girl has a “toxic ex” but then after that they get another. Lol gottem. They can't claim both to have "a women's intuition" and also a string of toxic exs. TBF if we think about the audience of these types of videos in OP, I do think that some of those men will be affected by them to the point that they become more outwardly toxic... No I was aware of that, but your comment was so vague and incoherent that I couldn't tell you were referencing that study. You clearly have no interest in a good faith discussion, you don't respond to the majority of my points, you just dismiss them or falsely claim you've disproved them. You're a troll.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/23 05:15 PM

Your whole thing is assuming antidepressant No not the whole argument, just one part of it. And it's not that big of an assumption to say relationships and family are some of the biggest sources of long term happiness for people. It also follows that if less people have those things they are missing out on a major source of life's happiness. What you're doing is called backwards rationalisation. You decided initially you don't want to admit anything I'm saying is true, despite how much sense it …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/23 04:39 PM

Very ignorant to assume all cases of depression are due to loneliness. I never said all...? I said a huge cause. I.e. a significant %. This is why looking at the cause is important. You’re sitting here assuming its involuntarily. What if theyre not ready to commit? You didn't "look at/prove the cause", you just suggested another different cause. Then this was a horrible point to make. Why even make it? Just because not everyone wants kids doesn't mean that a significant % do... And an even bigge…

If a guy is not able to function as the bare minimum as an adult (hold down a job, take care of himself, keep his environment clean, etc) then I would 100% point the finger at him and say he needs to take responsibility & get his shit together. /r/PurplePillDebate18/11/23 03:18 PM

Exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/23 03:17 PM

Loneliness is a huge cause of depression... I didn't think that had to be stated. Why? Because if a large majority of men are not able to get into a relationship, that will be very bad for society. The main reasons people find happiness in life are family, i.e. having a long term partner and children. Ofc not everyone wants kids, I'm not saying they do. If men cannot get a long term partner or have a family they will become disaffected & unmotivated to contribute to society, I.e. to work. And li…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/23 03:15 PM

That doesn't hold in the analogy because you don't "buy" a long term partner... (Well some people do but that's a whole other can of worms). The point is: 1) no one is perfect, everyone has flaws. 2) some flaws can be worked on and improved 3) the bar for calling men "a project" has been lowered and lowered until it's hypothetical & not reasonable. Women have most of the power earlier on in dating to choose their partners and they reject men who have very normal level of flaws, which not acknowl…

Instead any time they realise the guy "doesn't get it" they get the ick and move on. Personally I feel it's important because a lot of current issues we have boil down to double standards & hypocrisy. If we are able to give clear examples of double standards- and particularly where these examples are "every day"/common scenarios, and not things that only happen once in a blue moon- then there's a chance more people will start to realise that: 1) this is wrong 2) this is more common than they think ...which hopefully should lead to less of this behaviour

When I've seen videos of women saying they need a guy to make 100k or some other ridiculous number, I kinda always assumed that either 1) they have no idea what the average salary is or how unreasonable it is to expect a 20-25yr old to earn that (and that once they get into the real world & start work themselves their expectations will be checked by reality) Or 2) they were born into money and expect that because that's what their family & family's friends make. Even if that isn't the case and a…

Definition from Google: 1) The mental activity required to manage or perform the routine tasks necessary for maintaining relationships and ensuring smooth running of a household or process, typically regarded as an unappreciated or unacknowledged burden borne disproportionately by women. Sometimes, but some are definitely not junkies, and instead just like the "lifestyle" of money and "status". One girl told me she was out with her bf and other guys were obviously scared of him & moved out of his way. In her words: "...it was like really hot..." It could be that this lady (like many other women I've met) has to connect with someone on a personal level before she is attracted to them. Attraction can be very different between men and women, men tend to be more simple and "linear"/consistent in their attraction. Women can be much more complex and their attraction to someone can be fleeting or easily lost due to a small thing that a man wouldn't realise. Or it could be that she doesn't find you attractive and wanted to try to let you down g…

And given how the numbers on male suicide are increasing, while at the same time the numbers on men under 30 having less/no sex... If one defines success with women as sleeping around of course a toxic hot guy has more success than a nice one. But that’s because sleeping around is a qualifier for being toxic in the first place. Being toxic is only a positive modifier if you're hot Agreed No but I do believe a handsome toxic guy will have better luck than a handsome nice guy. I would sort of agree. Maybe more so for younger women given that a person usually needs the experience of being with a toxic person before they are able to recognise the signs and avoid them in future. But I feel as they get older they're more likely to avoid toxic people, unless they have issues which attract them to toxic guys continually

The question was about women in general not women with attachment issues. True, I guess I should've stated in my comment that I believe this doesn't just happen to women with attachment issues. Some have just never encountered a person who is malicious/manipulative and go along with it because it is attractive to them to have a partner who "takes charge". In hindsight they can realise that it wasn't that their partner was "taking charge" in a way that was respectful of their boundaries. E.g. a g…

Women are attracted to handsome masculine men. Agreed Doesn’t matter if they are toxic or not. I disagree. Some aren't attracted to toxic guys, but some are specifically attracted to toxic men because of psychological reasons/issues. There is nothing that women are, say, or do that makes a man more or less masculine. ...I mean, that's a little strangely worked but I guess that's mostly true. In that a woman's behaviour doesn't inherently make a man more masculine. Except in the sense that a woman who is showing that she is attracted to a man is signalling that she picked him and that can certainly raise his social status. There have been studies to show that a man is rated as more attractive when he is desired by other women…

Are you saying this non-verbal communication that women do is acceptable and that men should just learn it then ta-dah that will solve communication issues between men and women? That's such BS 😂 why not just be clear and both verbalise the communication? The only reason I see not is that it's difficult as it opens up the possibility of rejection. Late teens to early 20s is when most adults (particularly women) experiment with dating and part of that experience allows you to know what you want and what you find acceptable.

I don’t know. It jus seems to me that you’re taking her dating philosophy (with regards to asking people out at work) to heart way too much. She and others can believe what they believe and you can believe what you believe. No harm done. Maybe I am. But I also wonder if you'd feel that way if you continuously saw this kind of thing happen. Like I think the first time I was in this sort of situation I noticed the hypocrisy but didn't say anything as it didn't seem worth it. However when it keeps …

Women don’t just cry because you call them a hypocrite. Yeah, some do. It’s clear he said some stupid disrespect shit and that’s why she cried. Nope. Nothing other than what I wrote I had said in another comment. Your assumption of this is very telling, and quite frankly another thing to add to this list of OPs thread: Women (and men tbf) will listen to what you say, then make up their own extra details of what happened so suit whichever side they wanted to believe. Sometimes they fill in the bl…

I completely get hearing someone preach non-stop about one thing and then turn around and make “exceptions” to do another. That can be annoying and frankly, tiring after a while. So I understand your frustration. I appreciate you saying this She’s not the queen of the world here, dude. Her word isn’t bond. I know lol You called my example about dieting different because it doesn’t affect you. Newsflash: neither do her “insights” about dating. I disagree. If it was just her then yeah I'd agree, b…

See my other comment on this thread with more info. I get it might have sounded like I badgered her and was rude until she got upset but in reality it was only 2 comments from me and then she wound herself up and got herself upset. It would be like if a friend said “I’m going to start a strict vegan diet from now on.” and a few weeks later, you all meet up and they’re eating a steak dinner. Then you start badgering them “Oh, what happened to the diet? Couldn’t take that vegan lifestyle, huh?” Th…

I’ll be honest. You were rude to her. Making someone cry to prove a point is… not a good look to say the least. I’m not surprised they excluded you. You assuming I'm in the wrong just because she's crying is exactly my point. We only had about 2-3 exchanges, 1st me reminding what she said earlier, her claiming that it was different, me asking how it was different when she'd said it's never ok to do that even though that's exactly how she met her bf, then her getting shrill and going off at me be…

A few more I thought of 1) They will ask questions and get upset when you don't give the answer they wanted you to give. "Ok we have 2 leftover choices for dinner, pizza or chicken, which so you want?" "Oo pizza please" "..." "...what?" "...that's what I wanted" "...then why did you offer it?? You have words, use them and say what you want! I'm fine with chicken, but what you're doing is crazy" 2) They learn a new fad term and overuse it. Example from another comment: "Oh you had sex with him an…

An example of holding hypocritical views: I had a discussion/debate with a friend recently (well, maybe a year ago). She maintained it was never OK to ask a woman out while at work (didn't matter if the guy who was asking was a customer or a colleague). I tried to empathise that I get it could be annoying/harassment to bother someone who's at work but it felt too absolute to say it's absolutely never ok. She was adamant that it was never OK and said I was being creepy/inappropriate if I had aske…

That for various reasons (including the dating culture of men usually being the ones to pursue women & women being the selectors), women do not get called out on bad behaviour or incorrect/hypocritical/contradictory opinions as much as they should. Obvs a generalisation and it does not apply to all women, but overall if most guys want to have sex with a woman they will let her say opinions that don't make sense without pushing back or pointing out that it contradicts other thing she said earlier…

The wisdom of people not in relationships vs of those in relationships would tell me otherwise You got any examples of what you mean by that? Feels like you're looking at some dumb things guys did in relationships and concluding that they'd be better off single. But being single won't necessarily guide them to not do those dumb things, where as being in a relationship that fails because they did a dumb thing is much more likely to get them to change their behaviour. The problem is humans have a …

I agree that working on establishing one's self is beneficial, and even essential to being a fully competent adult, but I disagree that a celibate person will be able to learn what they need to about relationships within being in one. I think you learn more about yourself from trying & failing at relationships, then having a period of being single to reflect & work ok yourself. You (can/should) learn what you are doing wrong, compare what you are looking for vs what you should value for a long t…

Yes, men being more aggressive does excuse being violent in part, Nah that's ridiculous. the difference is that being violent has actual physical and possibly legal repercussions. Cheating is pretty much victimless. Cheating is definitely not victimless. I hope you get treated the way you treat people, then maybe you won't do that as you'll see it's better to give what you want to get back

Right. And differences in biology shouldn't be used to excuse bad behaviour.

At best that's flawed logic, at worst you're being deliberately obtuse to excuse your own or other's bad behaviour. Double standards are acceptable if they make sense Can you give an example? men and women are biologically not the same so it kind of makes sense ...are you saying because men and women are not biologically the same it makes sense that it's OK for men to cheat? No it doesn't, both men and women have sexual desires, just because men's sexual drive might be higher on average doesn't …

Again you can believe in your feminist religion of gender equality, but you don't call yourself red pill? I never said which way I believed, so why did you assume? I'm not a feminist. In fact when I said "certain toxic ideologies" I was including parts of feminism... I agree with some red pill messages but it is filled with dumb takes like yours so I don't subscribe to all red pill ideologies. Right, so I have a problem to call yourself red pill therefor believe in double standards ...wut?

What a ridiculous take. Cheating both for men and women is unacceptable. Part of the biggest issue I have with certain popular toxic ideologies is how often they promote or excuse double standards. And this OP falls directly into this category. It doesn't help and tbh this post is probably a troll

Not sure if this counts as an example but a friend's workplace named their company charity to be an anti-domestic violence charity that solely helped female victims (not against that in principle, it is a worthwhile cause, and though male victims get less help you could make that argument that different genders of victims have different needs, so specifically catering to one gender isn't necessarily a bad thing). However, he was asked by his work (along with all other male employees) if they wou…

Sorry to hear you've have had bad experiences here. Unfortunately these types of places do attract people who are more into shouting down people they perceive to be against them, even if those people are trying to understand/don't disagree with them. The same is true for many similar spaces of political or related topics. My message would be to accept that when you come to those places there will most likely be people here who disagree with you, and even hurl abuse at you. Not much can be done a…

If thinking about approaching women is damaging your self esteem and mental health then IMO your priority should be to improve those things before you go back to approaching women. Yes those things you mentioned do happen (false accusations etc) and you should do you best to reduce the risk of that happening but they are not as common as the internet makes them out to be. There are many legitimate issues facing men today, but let us not get to the point where we are creating narratives in our he…

(comment recreated after being deleted by mods) Can you (OP) give an example on the kind of advice you are talking about? In my experience women don't give good dating advice (that's anecdotal though, so not saying all of them don't), but there is a clear reason as to why they wouldn't be able to- they don't have experience flirting/talking to women as men. Most don't have to try to women, and certainly not from the perspective of a man. Women will give each other more time/patience because they…

I disagree. I think not all police are part of the problem, and they definitely have an incredibly difficult job to do. However there are so many examples of times where justice was not served because of a police officer's negligence, bias or malicious behaviour. Saying "they only enforce laws" is a bit of a cop out (excuse the pun), as some are too keen to arrest without evidence, or fail to pursue legitimate suspects because of laziness or bias.

"In this case calling the woman management dumb is ad hominen." -Maybe you could look at it that way. For the sake of discussion if we assume they are not dumb then in OP's post they have displayed carefully thought out discrimination against men... Which makes their actions even more malicious. However it is very easy to argue that they are dumb, or at least have acted stupidly in this case, by pointing out that they have sent this out in writing when it is clearly discrimination. From a legal …

I don't agree with your points. I do think that the stats that are normally touted on the wage gap are incorrect, and as a whole I don't believe that women are paid less than men, however this video doesn't really add anything. This video is just an adult putting a mic in kids' faces and asking them a leading question. If you ask a kid "why is {statement X} true?" ...then of course they'll assume it is and come up with anything as a suggested reason. My point is let's not sensationalise kids' an…

Personally I am against toxic behaviour regardless of gender. Part of the issue is that the phrase toxic masculinity is used very frequently, and applied incorrectly in many cases. Sure there is toxic behaviour that is more frequently exhibited by males, but the same is true for females. Both happen, both are a problem, so why is there push back to calling out one while calling out and demonising the other is praised? The real question is, if someone is happy to call out/reduce any bad/toxic par…

To me, the part in your post about dating preferences of height/age are exactly that: preferences. People are allowed (and should continue to be allowed) to have preferences because the alternative is restrictive laws on who people can or cannot date... Which is immoral and crazy. The part I question is you saying you don't want your children to be short... If you did marry a guy > 1.9m, but you child still happened to be short, would you not love them anyway?
