I suppose in this context it might be more about treating yourself as the most important member of the group and helping females perceive you as the most valuable thing in sight. I try it out when I'm downtown but don't take it too seriously. Attracting attention and affection is one thing, but I wouldn't want it from someone I don't enjoy spending time with. 'Alpha' has a specific definition in terms of the social sciences and I've always been frustrated with its use until it was explained. Still not sure about it, though. Or don't shoulder your way through a group in order to 'lead' them. Even maybe even, don't bully your idea/decision on the group in order to be the 'Alpha'. In other words, relax and don't be a douche. I always wondered about that. Although the OP is mentioning behaviors that are only possible within the context of a group (the first two at least).
