I agree. I used to have this fight with my NVX all the time, embarrassingly enough. We were similar in build to what was described here and he just “could not understand” and get so offended when I’d be terrified when he squared up to me or did anything physically aggressive in anger, even if he never harmed me. So he’d rip a glass of water out of my hands and get in my face or throw soft things like a shirt at me mad as hell, and I’d cry and leave. He’d say, “you act like I’m going to hit you.”…

I kind of have an answer to this! So first things first, fair or not, in the interest of your well-being, “crazy ex” is a huge red flag. Humongous. Not only because 9 times out of 10, he did something to warrant that sort of response, but because if he IS the victim, he’s won’t be a good candidate to date until he has healed properly from that terrible experience. A lot of times, men and people in general are very bad at knowing when they’re healed and ready. So I’d say a good amount of the time…

This comment couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. My bff just spent her birthday weekend driving six hours to help a man she is just talking to unpack and organize his new apartment. For her birthday, he left her alone in his apartment with no wifi and nothing to do for ten hours, was an hour late to the dinner he promised, and just got her a card for a present. She really called me EXCITED about him and how the weekend went and was nothing but defensive when I tried to tell her that it so…

Omg, exactly! You can even see what you’re talking about when he says that after being hung up on this person for 13 YEARS, what he’d do differently is “wait for his ex to come back”. Not be a better bf to his ex, not move with her to wherever she went, N O T H I N G. Just wait for her. Makes zero sense.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
