I bet its a very enjoyable and freeing experience. I wish it was safer, because it's something I would love to do. Several of my buddies got into motorcycles when we were in our 20's. I was so jealous... but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, because of the risks.

I think it made more sense 70 years ago when the wife was expected to stay at home and raise the kids, keep the house, and the husband was the breadwinner. It seems archaic and unnecessary now that these “traditions” are going away.

Just some quick google facts: The WNBA has on average a 10 million dollar net loss (since '96), and the NBA subsidizes them and sustains the loss every year. My question is... WHY?! Are there $$$ reasons behind that (which I don't see how), or is it just the NBA's initiative to get more girls interested in the sport? Because there's obviously no market for it...

It's not just guard duty lol... these are some of the most impeccable soldiers in the entire British military, and the job is considered one of honor and prestige. It's similar to the U.S. Honor Guard that stands watch at the Tomb of the Unknown, or sentries on ceremonial guard duty at the White House. in that they don't just assign any joe-shmo to the job.
