I think this situation is not permanent. If physician says you cannot lift for your life, then you should start training using techniques that does not require using your arm. You can also train legs 2 times a week, abs nearly everyday, train like a triathlon athlete(i did this when i was injured)

I have training in many martial arts, capoeira, bjj, judo and muay thai, have fought in several professional muay thai matches. I have also been in more than 50 street fights (living in 3rd world country hood until i grow up causes this), i can easily say that only kicks you use in a street fight are low kick(very effective) and front kick for distance. I suggest lifting and muaythai or bjj (pick the one ia near where you live and have better trainer)
