I think a big part of you head confusion is that you don't have clearly defined goals and actions towards achieving them. This is it. I focus on the micro, next steps, rather than defining the big picture and the path to it. That keeps me warring in my head about what I should do next to get to this nebulous idea of satisfaction.

Thanks for the brutal honesty.

By moving the bar repeatedly every other day. I'm not that concerned with what the scale tells me. The bar tells the unabashed truth, right? And I did push my BP to 120# today. And I'll push it to 125# on Sunday. Rinse and repeat. This is a stupid fucking argument.

It's from a scale, and I know they aren't super accurate. I have lost 5% BF since I started making an effort. It's totally possible that I was a 30% fat fuck when it read 25% in the beginning. I'm not where I want to be yet, but lifting and moving a lot (35-40 miles/week) is getting me there.

The downside is that you have to work for it. That's what separates strong men from the 90%, and I've enjoyed the work so far. I'll be there soon enough.

Very helpful - thanks. I woke up today in a much better mindset. Sleep deprivation apparently turns me into a massive pussy.

These aren't max lifts. This is where I'm at with SL. Thanks for the opinion though. Edit: A bit of ego protection. SL isn't the only lifting I've done, but I am a novice lifter, so I started at the bottom to focus on getting it right. My 5x5 BP was 115# two days ago, and I'm pushing it to 120# today. If I should post my 1RMs instead of what I'm working with, I'll do that instead.

If I land a kiss poorly, we laugh a little and try again. Sex is clearly still on a pedestal for me and I take it wayyy too seriously. Thank you for shining a light on that. I am way too far into my own head - been that way as an insecure Nice Guy my entire life. I am also breaking free from codependency which is why I think I'm so badly in her head (and probably has everything to do with the specific gripes I listed). I'll re-read NMMNG after I finish MAP. I appreciate your response MITW.

Not the entire goal, but it was my eventual yardstick as you said. Acknowledged - good call out.

Thanks. I'm in the gym.

Focus on you. Not her, not her friends, not even the sex, because you're still too weak and unattractive to expect gains there. You're right - which is why I'm questioning the authenticity. I do need to stop and just focus on me. What are you doing to take care of yourself, build strength and self-respect? I built a home gym and started StrongLifts from the bottom. Most of my numbers are low, and they're easy lifts. I cut out the double rest day to speed up the progression. I've lost 22# since t…

It's like you've moved from your wife's to MRP's frame, but still not your own. I think you hit the nail on the head here. I've caught myself wondering how honest my OYS posts have been. What am I not including? Am I just looking for validation? Thanks for that. I am absolutely an analytical person, and have always been in my head a lot. I think you need to do what makes you feel good, given you can accept the consequences. That's what's congruent at this point. Perfect. Thank you.

I started this process with no sex, ready to nuke, and felt like I was fairly OI. Then the relationship started to feel like it was getting better, and I didn't plan for what happens next. I'm slipping.

Have you told her what the consequences will be if she does that again? It doesn't look like you've established a boundary and enforced it. I'd kick my wife out immediately if she hit me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
