A guy I went to high school with lost his baseball scholarship over being falsely accused. Him and a teammate spit roasted a girl and people found out, and she went scorched earth. I'm the same age and had the same sort of dilemma about a year ago. I recommend reading Aaron Clarey's "Enjoy the Decline." Again, very similar to my situation, same time table and everything. Mom and stepdad being good to me are the reason I ended up okay and functional in life. Very similar situations. My father boozes every single night and it's obviously a core issue with how he is, he'll never accept responsibility for anything with a negative outcome.
