As a skilled laborer who also cannot take days off (no sick time at my company), I'm right there with you. Kinda sucks, if I get really sick, I either have to come in and muscle through it, or stay home and get no pay and come back to work with a black mark on my record. Shit sucks, man.

As I understand it, many women use hormonal birth control as a way to regulate menstruation, be it regularity or intensity, so the argument is there to have it covered under health insurance. I agree, I don't hate feminism, I think it's done some good things for women in the past, and continues to do so in certain areas of the present. As a liberal MRA, I was once actually told that you can't be an MRA and not be against big government. It's getting kind of disheartening. As another liberal MRA (and WRA for that matter), it is definitely alienating to hear the conservative part of the movement dominate the discourse. I would hope we could overlook political differences and just advocate for men's and women's rights where applicable, but it seems that just doesn't work, unfortunately.

I don't think I'd categorize that as creepy, it's strange, sure, but creepy? When I think of "nice", I think of a person that is polite, willing to help out when there's a problem, and good mannered. When I think creepy, I think of a person that doesn't understand personal boundaries and makes the other person incredibly uncomfortable with their advances. I'm not sure how bringing roses to a date qualifies, but we're probably operating on different wavelengths about creepy vs. nice.

I think that in this case it may be appropriate for the article to say that the victims of this are actual rape victims because there was no man involved. If they had caught a man fitting the description and began the media circus that plasters his name and face all over the news, yeah, he would be the victim, but that isn't what happened here.

As many as half of the 9,000 released inmates will be women with two years or less remaining on their sentence who are parents and non-serious or violent offenders. I'd like to know who gets to determine what a non-serious offense is, and what the criteria are. I'm all for reducing the prison population, but that seems a little strange to me.
