Not true, initially both males + females are used (equally!) to determine if sex has an influence on results observed. Later on, females or males may be preferentially used based on practical / ethical reasons

Thanks for highlighting this. One can assume that this cancel lynch mob have never made any minor transgressions, or lapses of judgement, in their entire lives. Ridiculous.
I feel like many news sites are presenting this story as amusing, or to generate light hearted 'water cooler' small talk. Imagine if it was the other way around?
