Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say? What does iow mean? I don't think glorifying women and demonishing men is equality. But you're right, that is the reality right now. As a women, I understand the importance of empowerment. It takes a lot to unwrite the social messaging that we receive. That we shouldn't take up space, that we shouldn't have a seat at the table, that we can't lead companies, that we shouldn't be in certain industries. So yeah, there's some very strong messaging to try to combat that. It's not necessarily a bad th… | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 04:14 PM
Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say?OP was talking about how to debate with friends today about the topic he brought up. In today's context, during a conversation, it is more likely for someone to double down if they are feeling attacked or unheard. That's all I was referring to. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 03:51 PM
Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say?I was just talking about the US, but very interesting about Canada. Thanks for sharing. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 03:03 AM
| -13 | Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say?I guess I just meant that it was expected that women didn't have opinions, whereas men were typically in positions to make decisions, which usually required having and stating opinions. And if a woman spoke back to a man, she was called a witch and burned alive. But yes, both genders were killed overall. Feminism: gender equality. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 01:28 AM |
Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say? That makes sense. Although, I'm not sure about the beginning of civilization, but white men who owned property was the only group of people permitted to vote in the first US presidential election in 1789. source I think women start to double down even harder about things when they have not felt heard or validated. And honestly, men too! It's a human characteristic to want to be understood. So, To have conversations with people who believe that men's history is this amazing privileged experience,… | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 01:13 AM

Female rapists faces additional charges| people in comments are saying that getting raped is a teenage boys dream.I'm sorry that happened to you. It's not okay and those women took advantage of you. There was a clear power difference and you were just a kid. The double standard breaks my heart as well. Thank you for speaking up about it. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 12:33 AM
Have Women really had it worse in history than Men like most people say?It depends on what you're comparing. I don't really like the idea of just a blanket, "who had it worse." The world is a traumatic place. Whether it's war, economic scarcity, or natural disasters. Women used to be punished or killed if they spoke their mind. Men used to get killed or tortured in battle and conflict. Mother nature doesn't discriminate haha. What made you ask your question? What do you think? | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 12:27 AM
To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Again. I'm not here to debate or prove anyone wrong. Just trying to engage in sincere conversation. See y'all soon | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 12:20 AM
To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why? It's a lot to digest and respond to thoughtfully. I will get to it and respond when I have time and when I'm not on mobile lol. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/22 12:18 AM
| -1 | To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Well, I can't really speak on behalf of all feminists lol. But when I was in grad school for counseling, another female colleague of mine worked on research with our male professor on men's emotional health and men's resiliency. She really helped shape my understanding for men's needs (based on research conducted by a man for men, not what other women told me). This is just one small example that I can point to. There are more. But they get drowned out by the loudness of the movement. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:54 PM |
To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Okay, I hear you and I get where you're coming from. I hate when a bunch of men tell me what would be best for me, like when men in the government dictate women's healthcare laws, same deal, oppression, so I get it. Just to clarify, I'm not just going off of what other women have told me. I'm a mental health professional, have an undergrad in psychology and a masters in counseling. I understand the research that has been done by both men and women for men and women. And I'm letting you know, it … | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:49 PM
Men have the right to have boundaries in a relationship without being labeled as “controlling”100% In healthy relationships, both women and men need to reflect on their behaviors and not assume that any critical feedback is an attempt to control/shame. Key word: healthy. When someone has been abused or has never seen a healthy relationship, they often lack the skills to navigate those delicate interactions. Or when they've been seeping in echo chambers online and have learned to generalize everything, emotional intelligence is decreased, which also makes delicate interactions challenging… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:37 PM

| -23 | To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Hi. I don't understand your comment. Sorry. Both men and women suffer... Suffering is part of the human condition.... Both women and men suffer at the hands of each other. Do you truly believe that women have it easier than men in life and that they are the root of men's suffering? Do you truly believe that men don't have any advantages over women in society? I'm not sure if you just made the comment without thinking it through or if you actually believe what you said. Because if you actually be… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 02:14 AM |
To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?A sense of belonging and solidarity is a powerful place and can have great influence on a person's belief system. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 02:07 AM
To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Hi, I invite you to read my comment that I left on this post. I'm a feminist. I don't think I was seeking attention or trying to emasculate anyone. I think men are human and deserve to be treated as such. I also struggle with the label feminism because.. Well... I've also been attacked by women who are deeply polarized. To deal with women like that, I take a trauma informed lens. And this goes for the men on this sub too who are too deep in the echo chamber of men's rights and have inadvertently… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 02:05 AM
| -25 | To the feminists here that are constantly trying to shit on men having equal rights… why?Hi, feminist here 👋🏽 I actually believe in men's rights though. Like, I'm the kind of feminist who believes that women clearly have fewer societal rights than men because, duh, we couldn't even vote up until 100 years ago and still get paid less than men. And rape disproportionately affects women. And there's a lot of work to do still for women's rights. Don't get me started. There's a lot of work to do. But, honestly, feminism Means equal rights for both genders. There are serious and damaging … | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:57 AM |
Just because I produce testosterone, doesn’t mean I must be physically strongYes yes yes! Men have extremely rigid gender roles. And it's devastating emotionally (but don't show any emotion if you're a man!) when you step outside the box that has been drawn for you by society. Be stoic, strong, a leader, financially successful, humorous, muscular, etc. And if you aren't any of those things, you get called names and emasculated. Don't be vulnerable. But be a great husband. ..... It's okay for you to not be masculine. It's okay to show up exactly as you are. Want to paint … | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:40 AM
Men have the right to have boundaries in a relationship without being labeled as “controlling”In some cases, absolutely. Sometimes women are controlling. Sometimes men are controlling. Humans can be controlling. Sometimes women manipulate men. Sometimes men manipulate women. Sometimes women manipulate women. Sometimes men manipulate men. I say all of that because I don't think your comment is totally off base. Just be careful generalizing that if a man is called controlling, it must be a means of shaming him. If you're ever called controlling, having that mentality would prevent you from… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:32 AM
Men have the right to have boundaries in a relationship without being labeled as “controlling”Agreed. If someone has a strong opinion and preference, that should play into who they choose to date instead of trying to change a person though. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:23 AM
Men have the right to have boundaries in a relationship without being labeled as “controlling”I think it's absolutely okay to have a preference for what you're comfortable with. If a girl likes to dress in short shorts, and that makes you uncomfortable, then you should totally respect your boundary and stop dating her. Telling her what she can and cannot wear is controlling though. How would you feel if you got into a relationship, wore a shirt that you loved, and the girl said that because of her boundaries, you couldn't wear that shirt anymore? It goes both ways. You should just love y… | /r/MensRights | 23/06/22 01:20 AM
Absolutely Terrified…Eh... I have several friends who have gotten pregnant and were blindsided because they were on birth control. Condoms, the pill, and IUD. I've seen them all fail. I even know a dude with a vasectomy who got his wife pregnant (paternity test confirmed). It's really not unfounded... | /r/MensRights | 22/06/22 01:12 PM
I think there's a growing issue with generalisations made against men, and something needs to be done about itYes, she teaches courses on those topics. Curious what point you're trying to make? | /r/MensRights | 13/03/21 09:33 PM
I think there's a growing issue with generalisations made against men, and something needs to be done about itHi, I recommend reading a book called Braving the Wilderness, by Brene Brown. She's an amazing social researcher who has done an enormous amount of research on vulnerability, shame, and connection. Issues that imo deeply impact men. Ive always considered myself a feminist and I care deeply about social justice. But in the past few years, it's been tougher and tougher for me to relate with feminism because of how much I see language that Others men. Yes, there are systemic issues that oppress wom… | /r/MensRights | 13/03/21 03:50 PM
