I agree. Focusing on something that cannot change holds people back from looking towards the future and creating the best future for themselves. Why even want someone who didn’t want to be with you anyway?

I agree with this, and would also suggest starting with things one or both of you already do that you like. Start with the positive affirmation, then mention that you like (or would like) X, then bring up Y that you don’t like... ease into it.

Join a club! Volunteer somewhere. Take up an intramural, coed sport. Grab some friends and hit up a trivia night. Go to a book reading or a seminar on something you like. Take a cooking class, or any other type of class or workshop. Put yourself in new situations where you meet new people. Talk to strangers, for no other reason than to practice your conversational skills. If you’d prefer not to use apps, get out there into the wide world where you have more opportunity to meet new and different …

There’s a lot of good advice in here so I won’t say all the same things. What I will say is that if you are looking to be more feminine, what helped me was to start from a place of “how can I say something nice?” Put yourself in positions to interact more with different types of people, ask questions about them. Respond to what they say. And aim to say positive things. If you’re around someone, and you notice something nice about them, say it. “Wow, I really love your makeup.” “That scarf is so …

Hm, after 5 years I wouldn’t say that. Seems more like he’s comfortable/complacent in the relationship and has stopped caring or putting in the effort it takes to maintain. OP, I agree with the other poster. Have a backup plan in place and if he forgets your plans, do something else. He wants to see you? He can make the effort.

Their face cleanser is my go-to! Highly recommend it. I like their face moisturizer too but in the winter I prefer their ultra repair cream on my face as it gets really dry here. If your skin tends to be more oily though, I’m not sure it’d be your best bet as it can be a bit heavy. The ultra repair cream is also great for anywhere else on your body though! And their serum is pretty light. I also use the facial radiance pads (tip: there’s enough product on them that you can cut them in half and g…

First Aid Beauty (FAB) has been helpful for my sensitive skin! Their skincare line is gentle enough for every day use and totally saved me.

Keep it casual! Ask him to go to lunch or something to start, and get a feel for how you two interact when it’s just the two of you, out of the office. You can also ask him to grab coffee with you or something if lunch feels like too big of a step. If that becomes a regular thing, then mention something you’re doing or would like to do on the weekend, and if he seems interested, invite him along.

From a nutritional standpoint, vegetables are objectively important for growing children. Have you asked him why he is so against serving them vegetables?

If you’re looking to try things on, I’d recommend a department store. If you’re comfortable measuring yourself and shopping online, I’d recommend Journelle for a range of different price points and products - they’ve got everything from everyday pretty underthings to nice pjs to the really va-va-voom pieces.

I think OP is saying more that men assume women think in the dichotomy of Alpha-Beta (which is untrue) because men think in the dichotomy of Madonna-Whore (which is also untrue). There’s assumptions on both sides, neither of which appear to be correct.

My boyfriend sometimes has periods of high work stress, and what I’ve generally found seems to help him in those times is being a soft place to land, actively listening when he talks about it, and encouraging him to think about what’s best for himself (rather than putting his superiors/job first). Sex and blowjobs are also great ways to take his mind off of it! Idk if this can also be applicable to your situation as well, but he tends to feel a bit guilty for not helping more with house things w…

At least in Canada, I wouldn’t have been born with my father’s last name had my parents not been married. If you’re interested in having children, this could be pretty important. Speaking as a woman, I would not have children with a man who would not marry me. I’m intending to build a life long partnership, and if he can’t commit to the same ideals, why would I want to build anything with him?

Thank you for elaborating! Yes, I would be interested in more detail if you wouldn’t mind. Without getting too into the weeds, I met my boyfriend while he was dating others. For approximately a year and half, I lived with him and another woman, which was happy for the most part. She left because it wasn’t what she was looking for, and we are now disinterested in fully involving another third due to all the drama she caused. All that to say that I do understand what you’re saying about having to …

Fair! That’s completely understandable. It’s a toolbox, not a one size fits all solution, etc. It’s about taking what works for you and discarding what doesn’t. I guess I’m just curious about your dynamic? Not to apply to myself necessarily, but I’m curious about non-vanilla/monogamish instances of RP relationships, and you’re the first person I’ve seen to mention something other than monogamy. My LTR boyfriend and myself have explored playing with others, and that’s central to our shared sexual…

Do you cheat on your partner or is this an agreed-upon arrangement? Does she have the “occasional romp” with other men as well? I’m just curious as most, of not all of the RP discourse I’ve seen revolves around a monogamous couple.

It’s okay to be upfront about what you’re looking for. If you want a guy that’s decisive and takes initiative, don’t be afraid to say that in your bio, or another phrase to that effect. Men who know they don’t have those traits can self-select themselves out of your pathway.

Hey! I looked through your post history to find the post you mentioned, but couldn’t find it. I’d be curious to read what you wrote, if you wouldn’t mind linking it.

It depends on how it’s done. People who smoke pot before bed and after their responsibilities are done, aren’t being destructive. Smoking when you wake up, or going to work or driving stoned, well those are very different (and destructive, yes) things.

I can understand why it would be a dealbreaker for some, as smoking cigarettes can also be a dealbreaker. Weed is certainly less harmful than that, but many people may see it to be very similar. I will say not all women who smoke pot are like that (my girlfriends and I all do, and we’re all in several-year-long LTRs), and it doesn’t mean you necessarily have a drug dealer on standby, it was usually more along the lines of a friend/acquaintance you texted once in a while (but not even anymore sin…

Jumping on the Essie train to suggest their Treat, Love and Care (?) polishes. They have sheer colors and more opaque ones, and they strengthen and nourish your nails too! You’re taking care of your nails, not just making them pretty, so that might help justify the price? Edit also to say, I do the oval/rounded tip nails and I find they don’t break much. They mostly break when I’m grabbing heavy things, or when they get long and something catches the underside of them, which only happens more of…

No man is going to treat you badly for no reason? Women have been killed for incredibly minor things, including just existing. Are you saying it’s their fault? What should women in abusive relationships do if their husband/boyfriend abuses them? On a less extreme note, what about all the women that do everything for their husbands/boyfriends just for them to still cheat? Expecting a basic level of respect is healthy. Allowing yourself to be disrespected is unhealthy. Everyone draws that line dif…

Respect is still important though. If your husband doesn’t respect the work you do and treats you like shit, what kind of life is that to lead?

For something less expensive but still cute that can be worn to more formal functions — I got a waterfall coat from Missguided a couple years back that drapes so prettily and has gotten me compliments every time I wear it. It’s open at the front and you can always dress it up with a belt to cinch the waist, but it comes across as very chic without breaking the bank! It may not work as a winter coat, but good for in between weather. ASOS may also have some really nice coats!

I was reflecting on this last night, actually! My current partner is the closest I’ve ever found to my ideal man. He’s pretty wonderful, and I feel pretty lucky. What it boils down to is I need to be able to trust him to lead. I need to trust his judgement, his word, his ability to be mature and communicate and be partner to this relationship just as much as I am. To do what needs to get done, whatever it is. I also need someone who is dominant in the bedroom, but these two things usually pair n…

I completely respect your attraction to uniformed men. They’re hot! I get it! They virtue-signal for a lot of great things. But since I’ve been dating my military boyfriend, I’ve been disappointed to learn that there are actually a lot of military men who are cowardly, who play stupid disloyal games behind the scenes, and who join because they don’t know what else to do, and climb over anyone they can to improve their station. There are a lot of awesome guys in the military, however please be wa…

Depending on how cheesy you two are, there are a few gifts you can get him like the “book of love” where you customize it to say all the things you love about him (can’t remember the name of the company), or there’s a company that does a map of the stars of a particular date and location (where you first met, first date, etc.). If he’s more into time spent together, I would agree with the other commenter’s suggestion of a trip, even if it’s just to a nearby park for a picnic if money is a bit ti…
