Can definitely confirm I had no idea my husband’s size and my guess was over an inch off the actual size.

It surprises me that anyone spends enough time around someone else’s butthole that this is a real issue. Not kink shaming, just surprised how significant butthole hair is to people (not you specifically).

I was just pointing out that you asked if nobody ever told her. I’m sure the number of people who saw her butthole was limited so if you couldn’t mention it, my point was that it’s likely nobody else probably could either.

I find it subjective, but reading through the comments, see that most people aren’t coming from the same place I am. I agree with a lot of people’s takes and admit that I’m in the minority when it comes to this subject. It kind of baffles me, actually. I’ve never been attracted to men who women flock to. My mentality has always been “ew” with men like that. I much prefer low-key men and that preference landed me an absolutely incredible husband.

I am very, very attracted to intelligence. I think I understand your argument, but it’s a drop dead issue for me that my partner has to be intelligent. I’m going to follow that up by saying the dumbest thing I could possibly say, but if anyone has ever seen Criminal Minds- fans seem to love Derek Morgan’s character (and he’s very good looking). I am a Spencer Reed girl 100%, just for his brains alone though.

I don’t feel like the OP or any comments adequately speak to my feelings as a women, and yes I’m aware my feelings aren’t universal, but here’s my take: I like a man who is nice, and it is also correct I am turned off if he’s spineless. I want him to be able to speak up, calmly and confidently, but not aggressively. He should know who he is and be solid in his beliefs, not get pushed around, but respect others and what they think and believe too. I don’t think it’s necessary for a man to strut a…

Rottweilers and pitbulls have really bad reputations, but people who have them will tell you that you can’t get a sweeter pet. Oscar, my Rottweiler, was the calmest, most docile dog I’ve ever known. He worked with me in schools and daycares and let abused and foster kids read to him and pet him during hard therapy sessions. Pitbulls have terrible reputations but if you look at a sub for owners, most of us know they’re giant babies. They have very strong bites so they get a lot of attention when …

I always get my ass chewed if I mention it outside of my designated subs, but the best dog I’ve ever had in my life was a Rottweiler and I’ve got two amazing rescue pibbles now. Probably won’t ever have anything but a pibble ever again. Most loyal, loving dog anyone could ask for.

I like looking at other peoples dogs on Reddit because I try not to be a toxic person. With your links to a subreddit for short people and scholarly article about the discrimination of them, plus assertion that’s it’s the main thing USA women are looking for, I struggle to believe you don’t bring toxicity into your in-person life whether you’re aware of it or not.

There are biases against so many traits. What I think is a major turnoff is when someone takes a trait they have that might be less desirable, then obsess over it and decide that’s the one and only reason for all of their problems. You’ve completely shut down any possibility that you have other flaws. Nobody is going to entertain the idea that being short is your only problem when you’re this annoying. You could be sitting in front of me, only three feet tall, and I’d still tell you that your bi…

So you think bitching at a random stranger ad nauseam about the perils of being short, being completely hellbent on your victimhood, and not conceding that you MIGHT have some other flaws isn’t a personality deficit? You need to have an honest talk with yourself because I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have insecurities.

I assume what I do because of how quick you were to jump my shit and form a conclusion about and entire gender based on a very small component of something I said. Healthy people don’t do that. And no, I’m not going to read a bunch of posts from other angry people who confirm your bias. I suggest you stop doing it too and get in a healthier frame of mind. It might change your outlook and dating experience.

I’m not trying to be rude although admittedly I know this is rude, but I am betting that most (not all) of you guys who come on Reddit and air your grievances about being short have some other flaw or personality deficit and it’s just way too easy to blame your troubles on being short.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/21 05:37 AM
2

Holy crap dude. Are you the short guy ambassador? You can speak on behalf of every short man? There are PLENTY of short men who do just fine, and many leading men in Hollywood who are short. It’s almost like, you know, you need to have a personality to be successful and you can’t make anger your entire being.

I was calling my anecdote an anecdote. You said my anecdote proves men are less focused on looks than women. I said no it doesn’t, because it’s just MY anecdote. My experience isn’t universal. YOU fail to understand that your experience isn’t universal, though. You personally having difficulty attracting women doesn’t mean all short men do. I actually do not prefer tall men. Okay…. While I appreciate the snark, I have way more anecdotes about attractive women with less attractive men. Most of my friends are knockouts and I’m the only one who’s married to someone taller than me, and he’s only 5’9. Out of my immediate group of friends I’d say one of them has a husband I’d consider good looking, but since that wasn’t really the question I didn’t mention it. I really doubt with the amount of time people spend online, that online dating is declining. Possible that dating in general is declining because of the pandemic or for other reasons, but unlikely people are dating the old fashioned way. I was a huge fan of OLD but I’m an introvert and really enjoyed getting to know people through a week or two of messages before meeting them.

I do believe there was research done on this but am too lazy to look it up. I had an interesting talk with my mom about it once because she worked with a VERY handsome man who was married to a VERY ugly woman, and she said he was completely in love with her, had been for 25 years, several kids, was faithful as they come. The talk lead to some googling on our part and we learned men married to less attractive women were, in general, happier. I believe the reason was because they got married for t…

My husband has a circular electric razor that fits in the palm of his hand and cuts in every angle/direction. Before he showers, he take it to his head and shaves. It doesn’t even take him five full minutes. He got this razor a couple months ago and has really reduced maintenance time.

I tend to be more attracted to men who aren’t traditionally good looking. In a lot of cases they have a much better personality and I become physically attracted to them because of that. I was not attracted to my first husband, although I didn’t realize that. He was kind of good looking but very, very overweight. Over time that did weigh on me. The main reason is that there were things I wanted to do that he couldn’t because of his size, and ultimately I resented it and became less interested in…

I see a few valid points in your assertion. I’m going to take your points one by one, and please know that my disagreement with some of your points is coming from a place of respect and not hostility. School hairstyle: You having to have short hair is wildly less prohibitive than most dress code standards for girls. Girls have to wear a certain length pant/dress/skirt, can’t have holes in their jeans, can’t wear leggings, can’t wear tight clothes, can’t wear shirts with spaghetti straps or tube …

Agreed- the husband and wife were in agreement about whether or not the wife would work. That’s really the kind of thing a couple should discuss before marriage. My husband knew before we got married that I wasn’t really interested in any kind of job, despite my degree and qualifications, I just didn’t find it fulfilling. He didn’t care at all and makes plenty of money. We agreed that I’d handle most of the household tasks while he worked. It was actually a pretty luxurious life until I got preg…

In a lot of cases, my personal opinion (feel free to disagree) is this lacks important and valid context. I think it’s justifiable to be annoyed with your husband for not working full-time if it’s putting strain on the household. It’s easier for men to get jobs and they generally are paid more, so unless the wife can support the household and his lack of employment was agreed upon, her frustration is valid. A wife’s lack of full time employment not being an issue in divorce is probably because i…

I clearly stated in my first comment that I’m not going to debate because minds are already made up. I’ll provide a link but you’ll just do what people with your mentality do, which is attack and attempt to delegitimize the source. This provides some examples of male privilege. You will probably find it unrelatable, and that’s the problem. To be fair and honest, there are a few things on this list that I think aren’t the absolute most solid arguments, but many of them are very valid. I will not …

Never said impossible. I said it’s hard. Empathy isn’t a trait everyone has. You don’t need empathy to see certain forms of privilege in everyday life. Improve your reading comprehension if you wish to have a debate of any substance.

I think that really depends on the subject. If you’re talking strictly about dating, yes, I’d empathize with men and say they don’t have it easy, and would say in a lot of ways it’s significantly harder for them, just in different ways. If you’re just talking about regular life and not specifically dating, I don’t believe men “want” to be oppressed. I am not going to engage in a debate about this, but I do think men are more privileged, particularly white men. To notice, though, you’d have to se…

Men divorcing their wives for younger women is literally the subject of the post.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/21 05:38 AM

I hate to be the “actually,” person here, but you’re not completely right in your first paragraph. Yes, women as a whole leave before men, but if you look more closely at the data, you see the numbers shift with age. Total, per year, women (combined ages) leave more. If you look specifically at divorces of people over, let’s say 50 years old, those numbers shift. Men DO leave for younger women. I will not claim it’s the primary reason or that men initiate more divorce at that age, because I do n…

My comment was in response to the douche who essentially said women want to be hit on by attractive guys. Wrong. Many women just want to live their lives and not get hit on at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/21 03:10 AM
2

You explicitly said flirt, not talk to. Many women don’t want to be flirted with at work or the gym, which is the point I made. You replied with a “boo hoo” comment and asked why you should give empathy. That sounds like you don’t respect women or their boundaries and yeah, if you’re going to “flirt” with them when they don’t want it, you shouldn’t be surprised when they consider it harassment.

I’m sure you get the chance, that’s totally believable. Some people just don’t grasp something they can’t relate to and that speaks more about them than anyone else. I know my husband has had chances, but I never worry. I’m thankful he’s the kind of person he is, because I know that while his love for me is a big factor that keeps him faithful, the way he conducts himself and the standards he lives by don’t permit him to even consider cheating. I’ve known plenty of people who are the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/21 07:02 AM

I agree with what you said completely. My husband would never cheat on me. I know he absolutely adores me, but that’s not why I say he wouldn’t cheat. He wouldn’t cheat because no matter how he feels about me, he holds himself to a high standard. If our marriage was struggling, absolutely terrible, and he couldn’t stand me, he still wouldn’t cheat. It’s not who he is. Drives me bonkers when people think they can classify an entire group of people the same way rather than recognizing them as indi…

I proved society is abusing men? How?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/21 02:56 AM

Maybe we need men to quit pretending they’re the victims of abuse and start proactively listening to what women are saying. You SHOULDN’T hit on women at work and most women DON’T want to be hit on at the gym. Accept the fact that women get continuously bombarded with male attention and don’t always like or want it, and just because you mean well doesn’t mean that she knows that and doesn’t mean you’re not just another random man who’s bothered her for the 50th time that day. Think in terms outs…

Trying to date at 50 is irrelevant. “The wall” is something those crazy men say happens at 30, sometimes they even say that’s too old. My mother is a widow and decided she might be ready to date or at least look for a male friend. She’s 68. I made her an account on POF and her inbox was flooded with messages from men her age. I helped my recently divorced friend too. She was 55 at the time- she went on several dates and ultimately met her husband. I don’t know if it’s some sort of revenge fantas…

Yeah, a lot of comments about prevalence of cheating by men in IT surprises me. I would be curious to see that broken down into specific fields of IT. I guess it could be a path to inceldom if your standards are Kate moss thin, Elon musk rich, and Einstein smart. If those are your standards I think you have more to address within yourself to be looking for a partner anyway. I don’t have a problem with people compromising, but I agree with you. My biggest piece of advice for my single friends is to look for somebody with no “buts.” “He’s great, BUT ______.” “I really like him, BUT ____.” After a while the little buts you’re willing to overlook at first become annoying big buts and that’s not fair to you or the person you’re dating.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself. Your particular stance, whether it’s intentional or intrinsic, means (or at least would cause many women to believe it means) that when you do have sex with someone, there’s a greater chance it’s because you actually like her and aren’t just using her. It would also suggest you haven’t had sex with 56 billion people and that matters to some women. I actually had more reasons but unfortunately they slipped away and I can’t seem to recall. I actually think it’s a really respectable position. I can also understand how women could feel insulted by it, given the collective societal assumption is that men will hump anything with a pulse, but a woman’s choice to get offended instead of listening to your rationale is not your problem.

Can you clarify? Sorry if someone else has already asked but I’m not scrolling through 150 comments to check. Do you mean you don’t have casual sex with complete strangers, or you don’t have sex with women you know until you get to know them on a deeper level? I’ll bite. I’m willing to take this challenge. I am an above average attractive woman who regularly had hundreds of men in my inbox. I also have a degree in soc/anth/psych and helped develop some of the personality tests we use today. That might make men uniquely positioned to make a fake dating profile. Using OLD, I actually never had a bad date and met amazing people, but do realize that isn’t the average user experience.

To be fair, I think at some point I did say that I realize my experience isn’t universal. I’m not trying to debate anyone’s points, I’m expressing surprise that some of these things are an issue BECAUSE I haven’t seen it. My lived experience showed me something different- but at no point did I say that I believed my anecdotes were representative of the population. If I were actually debating someone, I’d bring more than my experience to the conversation.

I very much appreciate the conversations that have broken out on this thread, a lot of them I think are insightful and healthy rather than some of the mindless arguing I see happening a lot.

There interesting. I’ve been married long enough that tinder wasn’t a thing when I was online dating so the whole swiping/matching wasn’t a thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/21 03:25 AM
1

Why do you think that is? I know online women have men coming at them from damn near every direction if it’s anything like it used to be, but I’m curious why you do so much better in person than online. Is it just a matter of having the kind of personality that’s likable?

Literally none of those things you mentioned would be dealbreakers for me. My husband is 5’9-5’10, doesn’t really use social media, and is extremely diplomatic/polite. He’s not a pushover- he’s quietly confident and will say something when he needs to but the rest of the time he’s unbelievably chill. He makes enough money that I can choose to stay home while our kids are little but we’ve got to budget and can’t go crazy on luxuries. All of those little things: the quiet life, the good natured pe…

That really sucks. I truly wouldn’t have thought 5’7 would be a dealbreaker. I actually prefer men on the shorter side (or used to, before I got married) and it surprises me that height is so important. My closest friends are all 5’10-5’11 with very successful careers, are beautiful, smart, thin, and could probably take their pick of men. They’re all married to someone shorter than they are. I’m curious if demographics play a part at all.

I realize my life experience isn’t universal but I have noticed the same thing as you- the men I know who are short (I’ll define “short” as under 5’8) all ended up with short women (under 5’4). I didn’t make a habit of asking about how the casual sex market was for them, but I guess it’s possible that it was harder to find someone.

I’m really surprised a 5’7 man is struggling like that. Has anyone directly told him height was an issue? Not debating, genuinely curious.

To be fair, I think there’s a pretty significant difference between telling her she did the right thing, and telling her she did what she THOUGHT was right at the time. My takeaway from that wasn’t that the therapist thought she made a good choice.

I actually never said I was 100% unbothered by it, all I said was I never asked and don’t want to know. I’m also positive that despite not knowing a number, it’s below 12, not that I’m concerned about my ranking. We each put in an effort to keep things fresh and enjoy satisfying each other. Not to be judgmental but it seems like a pretty sad existence if your primary concern is whether or not you could get a better lover than the one you have. Sounds exhausting. Assuming you’re a man, how do you feel so comfortable speaking on behalf of women, specifically virgin women? I find it hard to believe that if you know any, you probably haven’t had this discussion with them. Is this just a fantasy you’ve concocted in your head? My question was specifically towards men who want virgin women because I can’t even offer conjecture on this topic. I’m not a man, and I’ve never had this conversation with a man. But you just had the balls to tell me what virgin women …

I think it’s weird that men care, and I don’t know if women would so I can’t answer but for myself. I never asked my husband and he never asked me. None of my past boyfriends asked either. Honestly I don’t want to know or talk about anyone who was before me.

I’m not touching the first question, since there’s some haziness regarding the definition. As for the second- I think it’s dehumanizing and degrading for a woman to knowingly keep that information from a man and let him think he’s raising his own child, while simultaneously another man has a child in the world he doesn’t know about. That doesn’t even get into the trauma that could be inflicted on the child. There should be some kind of punishment for inflicting that much pain on innocent people,…

There is more to family court than custody and child support. In cases of domestic violence, family court often re-victimizes women and children. The most recent tool utilized is abusive fathers using the term “parental alienation” in attempt to convince the court that the mothers are simply trying to alienate the fathers from the children, even in the face of actual evidence/police reports/restraining orders. While I agree with that family court is unfair to fathers in many instances, particula…

Your experience isn’t universal and you can’t present your opinion as fact. The bitterness oozes out in your comments, even. Nobody wants to surround themselves with people so negative. The “chads” (I hate that term) may have an ego and live according to it, but some of these uglier guys are MEAN and I agree completely, they’re bitter and sexually frustrated. My husband is easily the kindest person I’ve ever known, devoid of any scrap of vanity. He also achieved his physique at home, mostly using a tree branch and exercise bands, some weights, and running to the nearby school and working out on the bleachers. It doesn’t apply as much, but it’s not a make or break either way. My first husband was very overweight and I wouldn’t do it again because he couldn’t do a lot of things I wanted to do. My husband now was very muscular when we met/got married. On our honeymoon he was mistaken for an American Ninja Warrior and was built like it. Even if I was a 0 I could still appreciate a fashionable man regardless if I was able to date one. Zero problems getting dates and I was always the one who got to decide if a first date got a second- the man was always willing. The group of women I call friends are all very attractive. I am going to go against much of the group, and it’s just a matter of personal opinion, so I don’t think this is an issue in which anyone can be wrong. Please don’t rage at me because of my answer. If men pair up at night because they’re afraid of women lurking around waiting to sexually assault them, that’s news to me. If you’re nitpicking my comment because men pair up to protect themselves from mugging, getting jumped, etc. by other MEN, please stay on topic.

I don’t think women sexually assault and harass men as much as they do women, no. Men don’t have to pair up to go to the bathroom or to walk in public at night, check for roofies in their drinks, carry mace, avoid certain places at night, etc. That said, I DO think men get sexually assaulted and harassed more than the statistics show. Women buy more clothes than men, therefore they care more about appearance? Plenty of men use social media. Even if what you say is true, that doesn’t mean woman care more about their appearance and status.

Like I said, sometimes men wanted a hookup and I wasn’t in the market for that. I said that from the start and it still didn’t always appear to sink in, but when I reiterated, the men were respectful. I’m being genuine and honest here, and will probably get downvoted into oblivion but wanted to share my story. I guess you could say I got white knighted but my husband fell hard and still loves me. When I met my now husband, I was unemployed and didn’t have a $1 to my name.
