He said it was supposed to be a one year temporary move for him and the children (last paragraph).

Don’t do this. She moved there because of the court system. You are playing right into her hands by doing this. At a minimum Sweden will start at 50/50 custody.

Start divorce proceedings in the country you moved from. There may well be a reason she asked you to move there. It is not yet the children’s habitual residence however.

Don’t get married! Why on earth do you need the government involved in your relationship? You’ve seen the warning signs. Have whatever relationship you want, keep the government out.

It doesn’t sound like you have custody issues, thank your lucky stars. Start exercising, go to the gym every single day, keep at it. That journal could be a gift, cut that relationship off, she got into it for the wrong reasons. Use it as closure and move forward. Use what you feel now for something positive.

This reads like some kind of plug for “socialcatfish”. How did she go about finding out who your ex is? Literally nothing in your story makes any sense.

Congratulation. So no custody drama?

I don’t know Mark Sing, Rich Cooper is a chump. Full of himself. Kevin Samuels passed away, knock yourself out on his old recordings of him running the same script on the same types of women over and over again if you think that helps you somehow.

Yes, ol Sushi_connoisseur222 herself knows women have preferences, criticising men’s preferences is just what you’ll face now. Men have dated younger for millennia, it’s nothing new. A 25 year age gap between say Macron and his wife is extreme, if it was the other way around she’d be called a pdf. https://www.reddit.com/r/vrouwvolk/comments/1rj0hgk/hoe\_belangrijk\_vinden\_jullie\_de\_lengte\_van\_een\_man/?tl=en

I appreciate your input. Your contribution is exactly what this thread needed, to give everyone an example of the kind of person to avoid, like the plague. Sounds like you didn’t have to worry about family life or a partner this morning, with the time you had on your hands 🤡

No-one in this sub said anything about less desirable. Men having preferences are not something to shame. In fact, you’re the one designating older women as “bottom of the barrel” time to head back to your sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/datingoverforty/comments/1sowkfa/do_you_even_bother_when_youre_the_bottom_of_the/ “As long as you dont have a problem with a fellow bottom of the barrel equivalent. I never see the harm in putting in the effort though. For yourself primarily.” Or your own prejudic…

⬆️ exactly, think about any advice you’re given or read. Go on the dates. They are just dates, you’re not putting yourself on the line for that debt yet. Make an informed decision, think it through, you don’t need to live together or get married to have a relationship.

You could live exactly the life you want, without giving the government a say in your love life. It’s not about your past dictating your future, it’s about the statistics that more than 50% of marriages end in divorce. Believe it or not, you’re in that stat. Exactly the life, identical, without a one sided contract that could again cost you massively. “Love is a gift”, sounds like it is not love without that government stamp?

Where do you live now? Where do they play on moving to? How many children? Where were they born? What citizenship do they hold? Are you agreeing to this? Your post seems to be very passive about a major change.

This is the problem anyone dating a single mother will run into. As much as you think you stood your ground, that story is not over by a long shot. “She accepted it”, LOL, no she didn’t.

How does someone you met, less than 8 months ago, just “find” 40k in any of your bank accounts? How does that happen?

The state you’re in matters, keeping it secret is a disadvantage. Sounds like there is no coming back from where you are. Do not have children together. Your church… they will talk you into trying to stay despite what is happening, keep your eyes open and your wits about you. Is start recording what is happening, phone, watch. She may very well be aware of the immigration paperwork requirement coming up.

Well do you plan in relocating? You’ll be affected by the Hague convention and the concept of a child’s habitual residence? https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a7bff1be5274a7318b90648/The_1996_Hague_Convention.pdf You should also consider your ability to reside in Switzerland, if it’s tied to your spouse you have another factor to consider. The same goes for the opposite scenario, does she have the ability to legally reside in the UK post Brexit? https://www.stephens-scown.co.uk/fami…

Mate, you sound like someone who has never dated a single mother, and frankly someone who has not thought it through. There is a whole new world waiting for you. Minimal time for you to even date, weekend clashes with your own shared custody, different schools and drop offs, financial support, children that you cannot discipline in any way shape or form, emotional support, oddities with the father, child support. If all that works for you, by all means, go for round two. You think single women d…

Let’s say you have two women, identical in every way, looks, demeanour, drama, education, religion, values, whatever is important to you. One has children, one doesn’t. Why would you choose the one raising another man’s children?

You need to start recording these things, you will need those to defend yourself later. Get a Plaud Note Pro for phone calls, Plaud Pin for discussions as they happen(buy a watch strap, it looks like a fitness tracker). Your hunch may be correct, but don’t underestimate spite. The cost of the two hardware devices will be nothing when solicitor and barrister fees start adding up. It will be less than an hour of their time. If she is getting advice from a malicious group or spiteful friends she wi…

She gets paid more by you in CMS payments if you don’t have access to your children for over night visits. Expect that to be weaponised. Expect false abuse claims. Whatever you do, do not move out of the family home. This is the basic calculation you should be familiar with, the rest could take years if it becomes contentious: https://www.gov.uk/calculate-child-maintenance Reach out to some charities before you pull the pin, you need to be prepared for what comes next. You’re crazy to try and move on with another single parent in a permanent way. Be realistic, why? Find someone who has no children of their own. You’ll also blow up your daughter’s friendship with her best friend. Work on yourself, start going to a gym. I can tell by the self esteem talk you’re not working out. The kissing, touching, might help you move on. I don’t know why you semi-quoted your wife in this post, move on, you’re not discussing this with her. She’s not your therapist and will abs…

You’re severely overerestimating the role any court will award you while working 60 hour weeks. If you believe your therapist, then he/she will be right. You’re done. If you get your self set up to serve paperwork, get the MIL out, and then try to salvage what you can you might have a chance. I usually lean towards unfixable, this is not it. Sounds like you two have not been near true trials and tribulations in your lives. Have either of you been seriously ill? Lost family you depended on day to…
