I think this is a good list for women who also like gaming and wouldn’t mind being with another person who also games. It’s a hobby that’s becoming increasingly mainstream, at the end of the day; a lot of us technically play video games without really thinking of it as such. For example, mobile games. I’ve always enjoyed video games. My dad is a total shit but it was one of the ways I connected with him as a kid, and I kept the hobby up into my 30s, same as I have reading or anything else I enjo…

I’m 5’0” and look really young (in my early 30s but without makeup or anything I look like a kid). I used to think it was weird how much more often I’d get hit on randomly when I wasn’t really trying and usually when I had been more overweight than my average baseline - until I realized I’m probably just attracting legit predators who think I’m barely legal. Or that I’d be easy to physically dominate since so many scrotes are weakpots. (I was a competitive strength athlete though so lol.) I stay…

I’m sort of reeling from realizing my ex was probably a covert narcissist who used stone walling and gaslighting to keep me in some dumb peaks and valley cycle with him. He would laugh at me when I made a point he disagreed with, put down my hobbies and claim I was just being sensitive, turn away from me in bed if I tried discussing something with him, would actually get angry at me for crying but would not even just leave me alone, he’d come into the room I would bawl in and then get visibly ex…

This resonates - I’m just about finished with “Why Does He Do That?” and it’s making me sad to see how badly I missed the signs/clues in my past relationship. He used to laugh at me whenever I tied to calmly talk about issues in our relationship or disagreed with me, and would get upset at me and imply I was just being manipulative whenever I cried. These assholes have no empathy in them.

I've helped a lot of co-workers and friends with job searches. (I have 3-4 years under my belt of being a hiring manager and find networking really painful, yet force my awkward turtle self to do it.) LMK if you need a 2nd pair of eyes on a resume or just want to chat about what you're trying to look for.

Congrats!! I ended up not completing the program, but I did Nursing as a 2nd degree when I was in my mid-late 20s and it was a good time. I made amazing girl friends. Nothing brings you together like needing to learn how to study for nursing exams, LOL.

I just need to vent so I can move on with my life. I dumped my boyfriend (who is 40) in Feb. We were living together and he moved out in March. Saw him on Tinder not that long ago with a bio that felt sort of like a personal attack on me. He mentioned being "naturally happy" and that he was looking for someone who was the same way. Despite the fact that I'm generally happy and medicated for symptoms of C-PTSD, he would tell me whenever I tried talking to him about problems in our relationship (l…

I’m sort of at a fork in the road in my life. Got fired from my job recently, with no warning and despite having an excellent history with them re: my reviews and record moving up quickly. I’m almost certain I wasn’t liked by some men who were friends with our executives, so maybe that was it, but anyway... it let me re-evaluate myself professionally. Ultimately the company didn’t treat me well, even if I succeeded professionally there, and worked me to the bone. The industry I was in was male d…

Lol reminds me of my ex, who would meanwhile try to equate anything I complained about re: his behavior to something from several months ago I "did" that was not the same at all.

I’m getting head hunted for an executive level position within a pretty male dominated industry (that I’ve been in for a little less than 3 years already). Never imagined I’d be on a path like this!

Thank you! I feel that way myself, especially since I've been more or less ignored despite having some huge achievements under my belt - in addition to having my own concerns never taken all that seriously. (Lo and behold, I'm one of very few women in a leadership role.) Even if I don't get fired, this little blow up has made me think about a future that doesn't necessarily involve the company in a way I hadn't before considered.

I tore a guy I work with a new one over Slack after dealing with his stupidity for the last two years. I was seriously tired of him bullying people, mostly women, to get online - when he'd admit to not even being at a computer - to assist him with things that more or less contributed to his bottom line. (He's in a sales type role, we're more like risk analysts and often need to vet clients.) The lack of gratitude was always precious. I was similarly annoyed with his tendency to question our deci…

I feel like FDS is way more helpful than a lot of the dating/relationships-over30 subreddits. Definitely helped me with my standards.

Not a bad feeling, just a concern. Definitely need to have a frank conversation with him.

I hope he can be an exception to something that seems very endemic in men - where being a woman that earns decent money is a source of tension regardless of what the man earns. And jeeze - I can relate. Hear you loud and clear on guys minimizing managing teams within an office environment. I managed Customer Support for awhile before moving to something different finally, and on top of needing to hit KPIs, I was also responsible for 60+ entry level people where we had 24/7 hours of operations. S…

Yeah, I'm trying to gauge where he's at and realizing that if there's something that's a red flag with him, it's his inexperience with trying to actually go for a job vs falling into one. I actually set him up to interview with my company (and he got far in the process, but didn't get the offer) and didn't take the rejection well at all. He'd be a very good father and I honestly don't mind if he makes less, since at that point it'd make more sense for him to be the stay at home parent (and home …

I'm getting concerned my boyfriend feels some sort of way over me making double what he does. (He's in education, and I work for a tech company in a non-technical role.) I hope it doesn't become an issue. He's a great guy and treats me well, but it's a little more apparent as we progress in our relationship that it may be a problem for us ultimately. Really don't care what anyone does or how much they make - but I want drive and/or some evidence they're happy with what they're doing. He's not ha…

Yup, don’t try to live on the bread crumbs these dudes leave instead.

Hah. Such a predictable pattern on OLD. As soon as you put up those boundaries, they continue to test them. The implied message is “if casual sex isn’t on the table, I won’t be continuing this conversation”... despite shared interests and connecting on something that isn’t super common to find mutual ground on.

I’m so annoyed that one of the mods of r/datingoverthirty is a guy whose comment history, when not whining about being single, consists of him fetishizing athletic, muscular women that lift. I find it incredibly demeaning and frankly a form of misogyny-lite to wank off to and objectify these particular women - it takes a ton of work and dedication to be a muscular female, especially if you’re not a female bodybuilder (and do CrossFit or Oly or powerlifting instead). He also gets coddled by a lot…
