As someone who was a heroin addict in Ontario, having needle exchanges always confused me a bit. To get needles, all you have to do is go buy them at a pharmacy over the counter (you don't need a prescription) and they are like literally $5 for 20 iirc. Sure, this saves them some money I suppose, but really I'm not so sure sharing needles is as big of an issue in Ontario as it is in the USA (afaik in the USA people can't just buy needles like that, so these exchanges are necessary). The thing is…

nope, didn't say that, sorry

No worries, but just know that I didn't ever say that, just for the record. Even the part you put in quotes above.

because the core argument was that respecting law makes you a decent human being no, it wasn't, actually that was something you just came in with out of no where. My original argument was simply that statutory rape is still rape, and that it is a horrific crime and against the law. you: Im going to overrule them by making it out to be a horrific crime. me: he isn't "making it out to be", it is the law making it out to be. it's called statutory rape. . your argument is flawed I think you mean the…

Yeah because slavery and ethic cleansing are really close to statutory rape in terms of the severity right? /s I don't know why I'm responding, because surely you must be trolling me by this point and I'm also sure no one else will care to read into this thread, but I feel I must reply, perhaps your trolling is effective or just on a higher plane, who knows. I don't know. Well, thanks for admitting that. So now I am (according to you) not a decent human being because I respect a law that states …

why? how is respect for the laws around statutory rape a bad thing? how is this a "problem" that I respect the age of consent?
/r/MensRights12/01/16 04:06 PM

umm, those are both rape, so yes

yep looks like the sub isnt right for me, thanks for your insights

so your argument comes down to statutory rape not being rape. cool.
/r/MensRights25/12/15 12:45 PM

so your argument amounts to "women can't rape because they don't penetrate" - sounds pretty legit /s

it isn't about tramatized or not imo, it's about the law. Having sex with someone under the age of consent is stutory rape and should not be something that we joke about or "like" or tell victims to shut up about, regardless of gender. Just because a victim enjoys the activity does not make it consentual, especially when the victim is under the legal age to consent in the first place.
/r/MensRights23/12/15 06:59 PM

And not every case of a father having sex with his 6 year old daughter is rape i had your back on this thread up until this point, lol
/r/MensRights23/12/15 06:50 PM

But an attractive 30-ish female teacher hooking up with a physically-matured teenage boy, a situation where the boy wanted and pursued it? That is so different, for so many reasons. not in the eyes of the law, if the victim is under the age of consent then its staturory rape, regardless of how physically matured they are, regardless if the student liked it, etc
/r/MensRights23/12/15 06:47 PM

he isn't "making it out to be", it is the law making it out to be. it's called statutory rape.

Who are you to tell someone what their experience should be labeled as? clearly he is someone who understands the law and statutory rape, unlike you

But there is room there for me to acknowledge that as a 15 year old boy, I lusted after a couple of my teachers. so what I hear you saying is that as long as the victim lusts for their perpetrator it's ok? Bottom line is sex with a minor is wrong and appaling. Whether it's a joke or not it's about how people interpret this. In this particular case 17k people agree with you - that women having sex with a minor is ok as long as the perpetrator is lusted after/attractive. You come here to talk gend…

change all instances of the word "men" with "people" in your statements and I'm in agreeance. But what you said is completely sexist and just straight up against the values this subreddit holds. PEOPLE there should be fighting to rebuild, not men or women in particular. PEOPLE should be accepted if they pass the security screenings, it's as simple as that (regardless of gender or family status). imagine what would happen if our country was attacked. I'm quite sure that PEOPLE would defend it, re…

At least the first policy I could embrace a bit as it didn't really appease either side (male or female), but doing this afterwards just makes no sense.

I hate my country today, especially after being so proud of him going 50/50 on the female:male ratio in the cabinet; to have him do this right after is just shameful and completely non-canadian

Yeah, I once made some off hand comments about how a girl I knew didn't also consider that some of the things she was posting could also apply to both sexes and that those problems also affect men. I was bashed by like 3-4 people and then had to defend myself, which only caused even more flaming comments to commence. My response was to just unfriend those people and move on with it, pick your battles I guess is my advice.

This is the first time on this sub that not only was I enraged at this blatant disregard for parenting and outright bigotry but I also became sick to my stomach. I was really expecting the authors response to be something like "look, I understand your a feminist and blah blah patriacrchy but seriously you need to get some help on how to parent your child instead of forcing him into gender roles, and calling your husband "xer" is not cool, not cool at all". Instead she just supported her......lik…

It really annoys me how I only see more and more of this stereotype about men or especially fathers being dumb/short-sighted. Its almost to the point where every "dad" figure in movies/tv shows are cast in this light (modern family, the simpsons, etc). Every 2nd commericial on TV now is like: "oh look dumb dad can't do the dishes right on his own"

It seriously scared me how she couldn't even acknoledge that it would really be possible to rape a man, like she thinks it's so farfetched (then she tries to cover it up by saying she "knows female rapists exist" in that I'm-just-kidding-around type tone). Is this really how women think or is this girl just completely bat shit crazy?

Is it weird that I enjoy that it's a female giving this type of a "rebuttal"? It kind of gives me hope in a way :p

I really hope this movie conveys the issue in the right way and doesn't make it into a "joke" type thing for young women - this is a real thing - women take advantage of men like this and ruin family's every day, the worst part is the man is the one who gets blamed!

one word: divorce another word: run seriously though, either one of those or just literally show her this post so she understands how much you hate her and her lazy ways. tell her "you need to do more around here such as a, b, c or I am leaving in x amount of time" then walk away and don't let her manipulate you from that point on. as for the kids. stop rewarding bad behaviour - she asks for money? take away something she has, she marks your car? smash her computer in front of her and tell her w…

the "reverse the situation" is what i always default to when reading this sub. its disgusting how blind some of these women are. equality does not involve shaming people for having feeling/emotions/tears

Amazing how she doesn't give in even when the other women are yelling and not even letting her get a word in edge-wise, even when they can all hear the audience clapping for whoopi's opinion. Thank god there is at least one woman standing up for mens rights on this earth!

Man when I was a kid we used to play in the park all day (literally) until the sun went down, and we didnt even have a cell phone or anything. Never once did anything happen to us. I can't believe a mother could get in trouble for something like this - no wonder American's are so fat and lazy - their kids cant even go outside anymore without risking hvaing the parents arrested. Since when is a mom required by law to watch her child while in a park anyways? THIS MAKES NO SENSE ARGHGHGH

I think he lays this out well enough to get the point across, which is that a person in her position has no right to force me what to believe/practice politically, that should be my choice. Honestly though as someone from Canada, I have trouble even grasping how something like that could ever be implemented - perhaps it is just a bigger problem over there I mean.

wrong, dictionaries report on the meaning of words, not the amount they are used. EDIT: from the dictionary itself: a book or electronic resource that lists the words of a language (typically in alphabetical order) and gives their meaning. kthxbye

This is so crazy - before I joined this sub I had no idea things were this bad. I dont understand how people can just so blatantly observe double standards and somehow think its ok.
/r/MensRights27/06/14 03:56 PM

yep, its because of the whole "a man cant hit a woman" thing - since we can't hit back it's like they have free reign to just beat on us any second they please. The worst is if you react at all physically then automatically you become the perp.
/r/MensRights25/06/14 07:10 PM

yep, then they act like you owe them the world for the "great experience" they gave you, and they get mad when you question any part of how that type of behaviour is ok

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to hate that guy more than I did previously lol. What an asshole, does he really think that male rape doesn't exist!?! He even has the nerve to call the victims "lucky". Imagine if you called a woman who was just raped lucky, how much outrage that would cause. We really need to stand up and make people answer for these actions, this is not the education our youth needs. More male rapes are reported in the USA every year than female rapes (think prison), making …

Dude just think about it, all those losers with multiple partners in late highschool/college are all either dealing with whiney babys now, or unable to stop itching their junk from all the various venereal diseases they picked up. Being a virgin isn't all that bad, I don't even see why ou care what other people think about you so much really. I would focus on the up-side dude, some girl down the road will appreciate you not being a dirty old washed up prick like the rest of the 99% of guys she's…
