With respect, this is the subreddit to help autistic people navigate what's obvious to everyone else. Dude, that's not respectful nor kind and not even accurate. Social norms are contextual and not always obvious. A helluva lot of energy has gone into understanding and teaching "how to" of seduction over centruries. There is certainly bad advice, but the good advice generally prevails. Not sure why you would rather troll than share your "obvious" knowledge.

I posted elsewhere that women who place their entire work/school/hobby history on Facebook but don't have their status as "married" are doing it because it is adventageous. As far as I can tell, they are unhappy, looking for attention, or looking to cheat.

I tend to meet women through social circles or work (hey, it's a big place) and long-game, so I often know their status. I get bothered by the women who have a boyfriend or husband and plays the, "but we haven't been getting along" or "I think he's cheating" or whatever excuse she needs to make it ok to fuck around.

Good luck! I was in grad school for my PhD in my early thirties. I thought there would be more undergraduates who would be flirty, making it easier for my cautious, no-game ass. I had some touches but nowhere near what I should have experienced. Go get 'em!

I don't think there's ever been a time that I wasn't attracted to 18-22yo (and older) women. Not when I was a teen, in my 20s, 30s, 40s, or now 50s. The only things keeping me from casually dating college-aged women is that I'm not in a lifestyle where I meet them often and I don't imagine many would be interested in my old ass.

Yes. Always stubbornly holding one's ground is not a good trait. One leaves a better impression when they maintain their position unapologetically while adding nuance and demonstrating thoughtfulness and depth. Good example with the crab!

Yeah, and next time you have an opener: "hey, thanks for the recommendation. [Something you liked about it]." Even if she wasn't chatty during the first convo, she may be more warm to it the second time.

What do you want? What do you have time for? Why mess with success? If you have the time and interest, I say just adopt that dude's methods and try it with more extroverted and more introverted types. And let us know how it works. Also, many "introverted" gals who are more timid love a guy who helps them get out of their shell and behave more boldly. Hold that authority frame and be consistent with your responses to her. Guide her (no need to manipulate, be straightforward about it) so that she …

Depends on whether the guy is simply trying to get laid or seducing her into love and devotion. If the latter, making her feel seen/heard/impactful/has something to give/etc. are important and require well-cradted questions. Best case, land her in bed quickly with looks, charm, and wit, then seduce her with actions and emotions.

Tail end of the pandemic,,, I (then 49y0) set a video date with a woman I'm mashed with on Bumble. Both single parents, so we are busy etc. I set up my laptop to provide optimal position and lighting, or a crisp black T-shirt, decent haircut, shaved, And decluttered the living room behind me. She got on with her phone in hand, dressed casually, sitting on her couch, little prep. I held frame and within a couple minutes she started getting self conscious, apologizing for a messy house and not doi…

Hijacking to further ask about how to recover the day after. I just did something similar. I took a work friend of about 6 mo (adjacent but not on the same team) paddleboarding who has seemed into me and I've been working on her (long game). Today was our first outing away from work. Lots of sex talk. She has a BF but mentioned she is thinking of getting out. I'm not one to fuck around with women with BFs but it seemed some escalation was in order. Instead, I kept yammering about her BF conundru…

So true! I suggest being truthful always, but sometimes withhold feelings and intent. "Cold" should not be faking disinterest but, when the situation calls for it, not showing interest. A person usually does not benefit from wearing their feelings on their sleeve.

Offer to babysit or do some sort of maintenance or fix something at her house. Flirt like crazy. If she wants you, it will be on her terms at her place, like maybe after the kids are asleep.

Nice, and congrats! Keep up the positive vibes. You sound fatalistic that you're already going to be Mr sad sack again. Don't let it happen. You will be the same person that day that you are today. If you need to, write down how awesome you are today and refer back to it later. Also, don't be disheartened if she disappears. It can happen for any number of reasons and you can't worry about blaming yourself for it. Just focus on being a better person and others will come soon enough!

And isn't that truly the essence of seduction? The goal is to make a woman feel a certain way then associate those good vibes with you. Your looks, charm, resources, compliments, dance skills, humor. your touch...these can have an impact on a woman regardless of age gap. The limiting factor is usually peer pressure and societal messaging that says older guys are not good partners (generational conflict, less years of virility, he may be scheming, etc.). If you want to land a much younger woman, …

Agreed. I'm curious whether you or your friends have ever dated or hooked up with a substantially older man. I've heard that although most women are most attracted to men a few years older that quite a few experienced at least one age gap hook up/relationship before settling down.

Yeah. Really, just make contact, flatter/amuse, make a plan to see her again, exchange #s, and boom. I once bought a pack of cigs just to stage going up to a girl smoking on a train platform and asking for a light. I didn't speak much Japanese and she didn't speak much English, But I complimented what she was wearing and we discussed what we did that evening. I brought up something about American movies she liked and I asked if she wanted to come to my place and watch a movie sometime, which she…

My experience was a long time ago, but I found they were interested in the same kind of guys any Western woman would be. Bonus points if there's something unusual for them like red hair or blue eyes. Clubs are probably going to be a good bet. I met a couple women on train platforms but I specifically approached bad girl types. I've heard that OLD work really well for foreign men in Japan.

Good posture helps in business transactions, speaking with men, etc. There are exercises to strengthen the back of the shoulders to improve posture without needing to consciously hold it, But I can't for the life of me remember what they are off hand.

That sucks. I'm older and have little time for chasing women, so I do my best to create opportunities and need to take them when they present. My workplace is so big, I can approach outside of my work group and probably never see them again.

This is very timely. I (54M) am a professional at a large US medical center, as in, number of employees equaling that of a small college's student body. I made eye contact with a woman (early 30s? No ring) in the cafeteria food area about an hour ago, twice. I wouldn't approach someone there; too busy, people are trying to get in and out, etc. She ended up sitting in the courtyard not far from me, near the exit. Exactly. Women can modulate access by where they go, how they use social media, And what they do for a job, and can control to some degree what kind of attention they receive through their behavior, style of dress, etc. I realize it can't be avoided in all situations, like if you want to go dancing with your friends, you're going to get a lot of attention. I've known attractive women who stopped going to clubs for that very reason.

It's not a big time and energy suck. Just reflect her concern and suggest A low-key place at which she is comfortable. Day dates don't work as well typically but if she needs to have bubble tea at 4:00 p.m. on a Thursday to feel comfortable, then do it. Have a second location picked out ahead of time so if things go well you roll right into the more intimate date that you initially proposed.

Yes and yes! It can be jarring to find out how little a woman misses you once their emotional and instrumental needs are met elsewhere - and most women always have people in the wings to take over those roles. Another way I look at it is that she (guys too) may be emotionally connected to the support and the gifts, but not emotionally connected to you.

I’m lost at this point. I’m really tired of meeting gold diggers and want to build wealth with someone rather than be a charity over and over. Apps aren’t my strong point as I’m facially ugly and no surgery has been able to fix that. I'm not sure what is going on there, But if you are disfigured in some way, It's likely to affect your confidence, your personality, and how you interact with people. If you had work done on your face and it's obvious, that's also going to impact who is potentially …

I don't know, but I'm guessing, women don't really talk about their wealth or their high-paying job to people they don't know well to keep the scammers and gold diggers at bay. Once they are married they're less concerned about people knowing their job and that they are a high earner.

That's really interesting, and I haven't heard that before. I can see why it would be frustrating. When I say confidence, I'm not talking about being socially at ease, I'm talking about being confident in your ability to be vulnerable. If you're only vulnerable and can only access feelings of attraction after you've gotten to know and trust someone... I don't know, sounds like a tough situation. That's one hypothesis. I wish you well in any case.

Some women say that they have to be friends with somebody first before they start to catch feelings. I think they are likely deluding themselves, and part of the reason That they became friends was because they had some attraction towards them to begin with. Some guys only start to like women who are their friends because they need that safety of friendship first before opening up emotionally. That is a confidence issue that needs to be overcome. You should definitely be attracted to lots of wom…

Very good post! she ISN’T A TRUE FRIEND. She simply wants easy validation, attention, and adoration, without giving anything in return. it will be tempting to try to reject her back, or lose your cool. Don’t go this route. I feel that these go hand in hand. Guys need to know that women aren't necessarily aware that they are leeching off of you. Their perception of how much energy you are putting into the attention and adoration you give is likely much lower than the energy you are actually, or y…

I've learned recently that you have to just be very straightforward with such women. On the other hand, just as her rules of engagement seem different from yours, her way of expressing interest may also differ from other women. Be ready for the possibility that despite the blushing and what not, she actually is not interested in dating you.

I agree with you confidence and vibe are of utmost importance. That said, If everybody around you has dark hair and dark eyes and isn't so tall, the person who looks attractive and different is going to have a leg up.

The similarities in how attraction works between Japan and the US is one of the things that makes me accept the idea of universal seduction techniques. Sure, there are cultural differences, but confidence, authentic flattery, height, etc are still important. I was a rather average guy when I was in Japan And did fine meeting women. However, my taller, redhead friend with long hair took all the girls, all the time. It was fucking frustrating as hell, LOL. I'm guessing that dating, romance, and se…

I work at a fairly big place, and also see some of the same faces over and over. Here's what I do. First, I try to be mindful about being friendly and giving attention to a wide assortment of people, not just younger hot women. I really want my frame to be a friendly person who is interested in others, not a creeper who targets women. Second, when I am in the same scenario of seeing somebody on a routine basis like that, I usually make an observational statement and just straight up say somethin…

I can spit out a bunch of mediocre hypothetical responses on reddit, but in the moment, I'm still learning and it is difficult IRL. Don't pressure yourself; just practice maintaining that mindset in any social situation. Confidence and mindset prep (which enhances confidence). I'm strong in what you might call emotional intelligence, so establishing rapport, comfort, and opening her up is easy. The risk is her getting too comfortable, like in friend mode, or putting you in the therapist role. That's warm fuzzy, which is good for building a relationship, but you also have to maintain excitement and sexy. Think about her needs from a man. If she is telling you about some issues she's having, you want to be a good listener and supportive, while the situation also provide…

A sophomoric comment like that would just prove her point. She must think you're cute, but the banter you had was probably 22-year-old stuff. She's shit testing you to tell you that she's looking for more of a mature, patient, complex. serious, perhaps take charge kind of guy. So if she hasn't blocked you yet, she's giving you an opportunity to show a more mature, sophisticated side. If that's not you, that's cool. YW! Note that this is not a get laid quick approach, it's to make her feel comfortable and enjoy her time with you. Bars (at night) are better for building sexual tension, but you can still build some tension in a coffee shop. And the second location or second date, after she is comfortable with you, is where she is more open to you turning on the juice. I should add, when I say comfortable I don't mean grandma's feather bed, but a relaxed openness to you, a feeling that you will enhance her lif…

Heyoo! Early '50s guy here. Coffee shops can be a fantastic place to get a woman excited about you, regardless of age. They all want to be seen, valued, and to laugh, and coffee shops are as good as anywhere. But skip Starbucks and other boring ass shops that are as sterile as an OBGYN exam room. Hit a cafe or a place that sells art or macrame pillows or shit like that. They provide a lot more character and interesting things to spark conversation. Friend, you're missing half of the attractiveness that comes with being fit. Hit the gym, and you might be the only guy who can hold on to a rope swing at the creek. You carry a keg upstairs by yourself. You climb over walls with ease just because you can. You are better at sports because of it. There are tons of benefits of fitness that increases your attractiveness beyond just how you look.

A relationship really is like a garden. You have to tend to it or it will eventually stop bearing fruit. I'm sure you can find PUA and seduction techniques that aren't necessary in a relationship, but touch, taking care of yourself, show mastery/be interesting, make her laugh, etc. is all important in maintaining a healthy relationship. Pick up any relationship self-help book or academic paper on relationships and the mechanisms of attraction are largely the same.

Dad-bod, runner's fitness (so good legs), 50ishM. 5'8, and told I'm handsome by friends and occasional strangers (probably average or a bit above). I'm often, but not always confident (confidence is very important!). A well-fitting t-shirt, good hair cut, and either shorts that show my legs of slim pants with good quality shoes/boots (plus confidence) brings some attention, whereas a more basic look (eg, mid-quality business casual or basic t, sneakers, and jeans) makes me nearly invisible. Me too, at 52yo. 5 years of dating post divorce. Not sure if I'm not going after women I'm interested in, I'm not at the level I want to play at, I'm too busy with work and coparenting to foster a relationship, or am just having difficulty opening my heart. It's a bit of a bummer.

It dispels the myth that there is something mysterious about women that requires esoteric techniques to attract a woman. It talks about confidence and provides basic advice for what most people find attractive and turnoffs (hygiene, clothing, behavior, attitude, etc.). It emphasizes how to make a connection vs how to increase your body count, and as such has a more respectful tone than a lot of PUA lit. And it's a good read to boot.

I have a potentially unpopular take here. When you are on the clock for work, having any sort of sexual contact, especially with a drunk stranger, is really dicey and likely puts your job at risk. If you like your job but you like to live dangerously, give her your phone number so she can show appreciation later if she wants. Just don't do it on the clock.

People tend to date within a similar age range because those are the people they meet, it's socially sanctified, they share similar interests and experiences, and if looking for a mate, it makes better sense.

A lot of single moms are in 50/50 custody arrangements. I found that many aren't pushing to lock things down because they have their friends, they're busy moms, and they're enjoying their freedom. But if they like you enough, many will want to lock down into an exclusive, every other week FWB.

So true. I'm 51 and rarely approach but I feel like my best look is when I'm relaxed and in running gear, importantly, with a properly fitting shirt, at a park or supermarket. I suppose I could dress in a smart suit to give that handsome middle-aged guy look but I rarely have opportunity to be in that type of setting. If the situation calls for business casual or casual, I just can't compete with younger guys.
