Click-bait show title, basically. Still riding that “vegan restaurant owner busted after ordering Dominoes pizza” train 🙄. Even though the show seemed to shit on those headlines by featuring the cop clarifying that the pizza more than obviously wasn’t for her. Dumb af title

No man I’ve ever dated has liked me except maybe the one guy I dated in HS. I was way out of his league and truthfully only dated him because I needed someone to go to prom with. He was not very smart and also annoyed the shit out of me. I’ve only received meaningful gifts from a guy who was much, much too old for me. Too embarrassing to go into details. But he bought me a beautiful set of very expensive earrings for my birthday and some of my favorite plants for Valentine’s Day. He’s the only g…

Transcription: I used to think that we had to let a guy know what he did. Like, “Hey, you didn’t call me.” But men know what they did. They know that they were trying to test you to see how you’d react to their bad behavior. It doesn’t mean he’s a bad guy for testing you. But it means that you need to react appropriately. However you react to this is the standard that he’s gonna believe that you hold. Don’t make it about what he didn’t do. Make it about what you value. “I noticed I haven’t heard…

Dear Reddit, My man is a womanizer and I’m jumping through every hoop to rationalize his behavior to myself. Should I continue on this path until I exhaust myself, or should I admit he ain’t shit and live a fulfilling life using the abundant energy I now have after ridding myself of this source of debilitating anxiety? Yes. My favorite thing I’ve learned here is that if you have to ask others, you already know the answer. Especially if the post is this long. OP: you already know. Even if this is your first adult relationship, just trust your instincts that it isn’t working out. Edit: He wants you all to “push conflicts aside temporarily and still feel solid in the relationship” so that HE can avoid conflict. Before you can bring it up again before he’s finished his work presentation, you will have gaslighted y…

I understand where he’s coming from. He doesn’t want to be stereotyped, he wants people to see him for his true self, whatever that may be (i don’t really care to speculate). What I DON’T understand is how he can recognize that women have legitimate fear of men in general and women have internalized what they have learned about protecting their personal safety, yet he is STILL taking their reactions personally. Okay, feel how you feel bro. Then look deep inside you and say, “I am a decent person…

Simply put, it hurts because we are human. It sucks when someone doesn’t like you or want to be with you, whatever their reasons for that may be. It’s personal. Ultimately, though, I think it really hurts deepest that in the process of being rejected by a LVM we realize how utterly impossible it is to find a suitable partner. We wonder why we can’t just do away with our standards and values in order to be accepted by someone. We might be tempted to do just that and to reduce ourselves to a mirro…

I live in an expensive city also and am blessed that I can afford to live by myself. Then again I have been in my career a long time and I prioritize my living expenses so that I can live alone. I would feel so weird dating someone who has a roommate. I’m sure I’m limiting my options with that, but oh well.

Was he reading those books after you were in a relationship/married? It seems so strange to me that even after he had “success” with TRP (in the form of ensnaring you), he would still want to be involved with those ideas. I know you don’t know if he read TRP for sure, but when did you see the stoicism literature emerge?

Ugh it’s especially infuriating when someone says “calm down” when you are speaking at a normal volume and a level tone. It’s so condescending. A lot of times it’s just the other person projecting their not-calm emotions onto you. 🙄

It took me way too long to figure out how to stop the WiFi from automatically coming on. For those who don’t know you have to go to settings and toggle it off there. If you just go to the status bar and tap the WiFi button it only temporarily turns it off until the phone detects a different network.

I grew up seeing this in the relationship between my parents. It helped foster in me an appreciation for being alone. I’d rather be alone than feel lonely with someone constantly criticizing me or bickering at me. I may be a little too content being alone. . . I surround myself with few people and I do not date. I am seeing a counselor to explore this.

LVM and others can use the information you have in your profiles to manipulate you. For example, pretend they like XYZ band or XYZ hobby. Just delete all of them and get a ghost account. I have one for a certain social media because it requires people to be logged in to see even public accounts, and I like to use it just to browse my favorite brands and such. Delete all of your public information. As time passes I find that people seem less and less surprised that I don’t have FB, etc. Plus guys…

I was seeing this scrote for a couple of months. He was saying all this shit to me to get me to believe that he wanted a relationship. “Let’s just take it slow” was his favorite. I always believed that men were some complicated puzzle and women always had to read between the lines to decrypt their messages. I asked so many of my friends what it means if a guy says he wants to take it slow (spoiler: he wants to take everything he can get from you until you quit hanging around, or until he gets ev…

I stay in hotels a lot for work. I never say my room number out loud, I just show the person I’m talking to my key if the number is written on the paper slip it comes in. (Can’t stand when I do this and then they say, “Oh, You’re in Room 262!?” Like gd way to blow my cover.) This is not always doable, but be aware that there is always someone watching and always someone listening.

Omg it’s literally ALL he says! Wtf! A user commented on the original post (I think the mods deleted the comment): “I don’t think it’s weird. I think it’s amazing what someone that young can accomplish.” What all of these athletes do is amazing, at any age. I really don’t care if they’re fifteen or thirty. It really applies to so many things, including dating sites and social media. They’re free for a reason. Your personal information is the product and is being sold to other companies. It’s really important to see these services this way so that we can stay vigilant to how they prey on us.

This is why I hide my contact information on my suitcases when I travel. I see so many people who have their tags out with phone number, first and last name, and FULL address visible for any stranger in the airport to see. Tuck these tags into your bag so that if you do lose your bag, someone can easily find the tag and ONLY THEN contact you. Or get these type (https://www.target.com/p/clear-luggage-tag-1pc-made-by-design-8482/-/A-54251927), write “see other side for info,” and turn the paper so…

I LOVE Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It was such a realization to me when I heard the “Love Crumbs” song. So many of us women hold on to the slightest ounce of attention from the person we like, turning every little thing they do into a positive “sign” for us to continue hoping. Rebecca has some serious pick-me tendencies but it’s very eye-opening to watch it all play out.

Okay there is no excuse for this shit (literally) because there is a brand of wet wipes out there specifically marketed toward men. It’s called “Dude Wipes.” Idk why we can’t all just use fucking Charmin, but there you have it. Masculine “dude wipes.” Use them and love them, for all of our sakes.

I’m glad someone posted about this show because I didn’t want to make my own post. I was excited to learn about the deaf community, but by the end of the series I felt the show was too focused on one pick-me in particular and a bunch of LVM. Alexa was the worst pick-me. I liked that she stated that she doesn’t chase men and that being emotionally avoidant is not a personality. But this girl was involved with nearly every dude on the show. She basically WAS chasing the men—maybe not overtly but s…

It makes everyone look bad ETA: Ok wait I did briefly see a grown-ass man who acted like this. We were at the airport at a restaurant with a self-order and self-checkout machine. Told ya! Lol. DFW has some shining moments with clever language and sometimes his humor makes me go “DAMN” in a good way, but overall his work is too damn dense. I think this list is less critical about the literature of these authors than it is making generalizations about men who read (or pretend to read) it. Most of these works have great value as canonized literature, but obviously we can create stereotypes about the men who read them, however much the men may protest “~nOt AlL mEn~”. Yeah, …

If he knows you slept with his friend, he is trying to be the next in line. Men have no respect for women whom their “buddies” (🤮 I hate this word, just fucking say “friends”) have slept with. ZER0. lol the way she says “assholes” is so beautiful. it’s very disconcerting. But this is so true. Attractive men don’t have to do shit for attention, so they don’t do shit. This is why I’m automatically turned off by and deliberately ignore conventionally attractive men when I see them coming my way. They’ve been coddled and babied their whole damn lives 🙄. Oh Jesus. Men want to say shit like this to imply that everyone deserves a relationship and intimacy with another human being. Not everyone is emotionally mature enough to be paired up with another person, fullstop. So if you want to be deserving of intimacy with another, you need to become self-aware, become emotionally mature, and learn how to sustain a relationship. Same, yet people always guess 100-110 pounds. Just goes to show people have no idea what they’re talking about, ESPECIALLY men. Plus, depending on the brand I can sometimes wear 00 (?!). It makes NO sense and there are obviously no hard and fast rules to weight/height/clothing sizes. Ewww. I blocked a motherfucker on Tinder for something similar. He asked me how tall I was (ok, fine). After I told him 5’3” he replied “Perfect size.” That was the entire message. Idk, just rubbed me the wrong way. Instant unmatch 👋🏼. It wouldn’t have been quite so bad if he had said something like, ‘Ok, that’s perfect. I’m 5’8” so I’ve had a lot of tall women who are uncomfortable with my height.’ Nope. “Perfect size” 🤮 Fuck rite off w that bro

All this is so true. Which makes me wonder . . . What are some GOOD things to see on an OLD profile? Personally I like to see a well-written paragraph (correct spelling and punctuation) of about 5-6 sentences with some ideas of who the guy is: specific rather than generic (“I enjoy surfing and kite-boarding” NOT “outdoors”), avoids references to OLD (“I’m 6’2.” NOT “6’2” since apparently it matters.” Stfu. Why even try to act ironic or whatever? Just put your damn height), something that just ma…

I started talking to a counselor because I felt the same way. How can I ever find someone to date if I can’t even find people to be friends with? Who would want to be with someone who has no close relationships (other than semi-close family)? What does it say about me that I don’t have many people around me? The counselor wasn’t very helpful when it came to tips about how to open myself up to new friends. Their advice was to go to meet-ups and ‘try new activities!’ Yeah, whatever. I do plenty of…

Even if what you’re seeing isn’t necessarily textbook manipulation or love-bombing, RUN. I had a friend I met eight years ago. We talked on and off throughout the years, but never spent much time in person together. Recently I tried to pursue a relationship with him. It was classic wrong behavior. Telling him right off the bat I wanted a relationship, asking him out, telling him my insecurities. He always spoke like this, this type of boo-boo “just ignore me” shit.
