I am saying that a father figure isn't there to be MANLY. Positive leadership skills are certainly a must, but so is empathy and being able to solve problems without resorting to raised voices or anything physical.

This is wrong in so many ways. Being a father is isn't just being masculine, and acting as if that were the case degrades fathers themselves.
