Misleading headline. Her appeal was dismissed because of a technical error on her part (she deposited the initial check while the appeal was still in progress rather than waiting). The court did not rule against her because she's a greedy vampire, but because of what amounts to more or less a clerical error on her part. If her lawyer had advised her properly, she would have been able to proceed with the appeal and may well have won. There is no justice here.

This is extremely insulting to women. They're basically trying to codify the notion that the only reason a woman would willingly have sex with a man is if there's some financial reward in it for her. At most, this should be a fraud charge, not a rape charge. The article just says "alcohol was involved", which could mean anything from "she was a bit tipsy" all the way up to "she was blackout drunk and didn't know where she was".
