Absolutely this reply - people are attracted to each other for all sorts of strange reasons. It is true that if you are typically good looking, good job, a kind person, social you will likely have more attention. But so much of attraction is just illogical. There’s something about that person that draws you in that you can’t put your finger on. It’s also just how well you gel together and your personalities mesh, how easy it is to talk with them and be yourself that factors hugely that you can’t…

I think the amount you contribute if you live together should be proportional to how much you earn. I would argue it the other way as well. If a woman earned 60k a year and her partner earned 40k a year it would make sense for them to split expenses in a 60:40 ratio.

Yes it often is about the overall energy you get from someone. About what you said about apps - I almost swiped left on my current partner, but then we met in person and after talking for a few mins I was super attracted to him and so glad I swiped right! His personality just didn’t shine through his photos. Tbh I think he also didn’t pick good photos there are other photos of him which show him much better.

Yes all the time! I find messages stressful I much prefer using messages to arrange a meetup and not for general conversation

Am I happy in life atm? No but that because my mental health is quite bad, Bad anxiety but I am in therapy and working on it. Am I happy in my current relationship? Absolutely! He’s not perfect because no human is but he is pretty fantastic. I constantly feel so lucky to be with him and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

Thanks - that was indeed super clear and succinct!

Can only speak for me personally but when I was on apps I would immediately swipe left if I didn’t find a guy attractive. But before swiping right I would always check the bio first. I think everyone is different really can’t really make a statement on that sort of thing that is true for all women

I know other people have commented and asked, but I am also curious so wanted to ask too - was it the number or the lying that made you break up? If it was the number, what is it about that that changed how compatible you viewed her?

Tbh I’ve found that what I like in bed is sometimes totally different to what a man’s previous girlfriends like in bed. With every man I’ve dated we’ve taught each other what we like and don’t like. It’s getting to know your current partner and what THEY like that makes you good in bed, not having multiple sexual exploits who have totally different tastes in bed.

I think you hit the nail on the head there

If you don’t think it’s ethical then why do you want to do it?

Tbh I would feel really weird doing that. I felt super guilty even about sleeping with someone after just my first date with my now boyfriend. I now know that that doesn’t bother him, you are not exclusive after one date. He may have been annoyed if I was still getting with other people 3 or 4 dates in though. I feel like exclusivity should be implied if you have been on a few dates already otherwise you risk hurting feelings. But I guess technically you are doing nothing wrong if it hasn’t been…

True casual sex does carry risks, but so do other activities. Take extreme sports you risk things going wrong and falling to your death! They’re (just like with sex) also seeking a sensation via a behaviour that carries a lot of risks, but for some reason there isn’t that same judgment attached. Yes I agree tbh probably a lot of people don’t know why they feel the way they do. But I think that’s why it’s worth discussing these things and challenging. Yes agree with some of your later points (I d…

Thanks for a non-aggressive reply, it really helps make discussions easier! I agree it is ok for people to have preferences, if you prefer a virgin/low body count then you do you. I’m just very much against shaming or being judgemental of women for their body count (just as I am against shaming men too). As long as practiced safely, consensually and precautions taken it is not harming anyone to sleep with a lot of people. If someone feels grossed out by this, fine like there are no wrong feeling…

She may be impulsive and lack self control yes, but it doesn’t mean that for certain: it could also be that she simply enjoys sex. It was easy for her to get sex so she did it. If someone likes playing tennis and it was easy for them to find new tennis partners so they played a lot of tennis with different people because they really enjoyed it, would that also mean they were more impulsive and lacking self control than someone who equally enjoyed tennis but found it difficult to find people to p…

It’s not necessarily wrong to prefer a woman who is a virgin, but we need to stop with this idea that women somehow decrease in value when they are ‘used’. As other posts have said, sex doesn’t ‘taint’ women in any way.

Attraction is often not logical, it depends on so many different factors, including past experiences, the kind of people you’ve had around you in your life, to societal norms, how well someone meshes with your personality, how they make you feel… There’s no way of totally predicting attraction

Yeah exactly! Feeling good around someone, having the right vibe and back and forth and also just feeling like someone actually genuinely cares for you is super attractive as well IMO

Yes absolutely. I’ve ‘caught feelings’ for men I didn’t find physically attractive at first, but we just developed a lot of chemistry when we spoke to each other - attraction grew. It really does just come down to how well you naturally mesh and bounce off each other a lot of the time

Whoever asked for the date should be ok with paying. But I think it’s polite for the other person to always offer to split the bill

For me it’s more on their vibe and charm, also face. I tend to prefer slim and lightly toned personally but I’ve dated people with many body types. There have been times where I didn’t find someone attractive straight away, but we just had such chemistry and spark when we’re together that I became really attracted to them! Thinking about it, none of my crushes celebrity or otherwise has ever been based on body.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
