As someone who’s gone through a variety of therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists for PTSD after combat, a treating therapist generally won’t make their own official diagnoses. At least at the VA. It’s standard to send to a different psychologist for evaluations as treatment therapists are not impartial.

When I was active duty, I was assaulted by my now ex-wife. I had video evidence of her wailing on me. Multiple angles. The officers asked me what I had done to get her to this point and then I was forced by my command to leave my own house, where I was attacked, for the week. Some officers just don’t care.

You get over a billion people crammed into a limited number of cities and there are gonna be issues. It doesn’t mean the culture promotes that.

Way to miss their point entirely. They just asked for perspective from the opposite situation. They didn’t say anything about forcing a woman into an abortion.

With the quotes I’m inclined to perceive “loose” as a command to release arrows in a drawn bow, i.e. toss, throw, or forcefully send away.

That’s fine and dandy but that’s not what I was referring to. Op said they were glad he’s speaking again. I relayed that his words don’t hold weight as the man is a grifter. It doesn’t have anything to do with the content of the article. The problem with grifters is they’ll go where the attention/money are at and they’re susceptible to more. He may be 90% right but if he changes with the tide so will the message making it unprincipled.

Maybe a decade ago I would have stepped up and defended women. In today’s litigious society we live in, it’s nothing more than a risk for me and mine. Unless it’s directly life threatening, I will turn the other way. There is no benefit to helping strangers while judges accept civil suits from persons who would otherwise be maimed or dead because they got a cut or I knocked someone out who was involved in assaulting another with a bat (that was my last straw). You have to remember that negative stories will naturally aggregate in a forum like this. It’s just as curated as the rest of social media just from a negative perspective. The things I’ve gone through wouldn’t make you or anyone here feel any better and are on par with some of the worst stories here. Where I don’t lose hope is the circle around me IRL. Like any great male soldier; knowledgeable, knew her role, and always strived to learn her boss’s job. If she was talented or a skill was deficient, she took that into account while planning the same way she would with others’ shortcomings and strengths. She knew exactly what she was capable of.

In Afghanistan we had an infantry NCO take shrapnel to his right leg and shoulder. He couldn’t move himself at first. We had a female drop her rifle (not to the ground as it was slung but not in a way as to continue defending herself) and attempt to use 2 hands to drag him back behind cover. She acted quickly, deliberately, and at the right time to grab him. Problem was, he was about 190 before kit and she was about 125 without kit. It’s because the WNBA aren’t good players. They can’t dunk, shoot, jump, and are slow down the court. They don’t have explosive power plays to the basket. I have no issues with the WNBA or their existence but watching their games is less exciting to me than a boys high school game. You’ll occasionally see a dunk in there.

When a judge can appoint a campaign donor to make decisions for the involved parties like; can I get a new job, am I allowed to move into a cheaper domicile, can I date someone and then charges you $700 to ask permission for those things, it feels more like you’re being robbed by a mafia for ‘protection’ money.

I don’t miss the days of kicking my boots off after a 16 hour workday and subsequently being nagged that the house looks like crap and I need to pitch in. She didn’t really respond very well to, “if I wasn’t working 5-6 days a week with 8 hours of homework on sundays to pay for all this, there wouldn’t be a mess to clean up. We can downgrade to a smaller house if you want”.

You’re equating groping with women not being able to take their tops off, two separate issues. Both are wrong and downplaying one is the reason issues won’t be addressed. In a few places women came go topless, should be everywhere with people left to make their own decisions. Go straw man somewhere else

Ok and? This is a sexist as fuck take. Treat me like I treat you and we’ll be fine. The second you start giving preferential treatment you start undermining half the population. I don’t care that it’s “perceived” as worse, you’re justifying groping men as it isn’t as bad as women. Go fuck yourself.

The bias in sentencing between women and men. Courts often cite a woman’s mental health or that she was tricked into a crime. The UK courts treat women as if they have no agency and if they do fuck up, it wasn’t their fault. In the UK, a woman cannot rape a man according to the law.

That’s a situation where functionally equal still produces unequal outcomes and that’s fine. I can’t control how long other people live. People need to accept that equality is only fair if we don’t force outcomes.

This is correct. When my main pipe collapsed earlier this year we called for two days trying to get someone to come fix it. I had to go to the county and request the name of the owner to contact them directly to let them know nothing was being done to fix their property. We had a plumber out within an hour and a half.

They are functionally banned as a requirement in Texas. Why is a family court judge making health related decisions where there is no precedent or stated reason for doing so? This is blatant overreach by a judge to leverage the injection of an emergency approved but otherwise untested vaccine to protect a demographic that is highly resilient to the virus. People should probably get it but the fact that it hasn’t properly been tested is a valid reason IMO to say no to getting it if you so choose.

Less than 300 kids died in the United States to covid. It isn’t particularly dangerous to them. It doesn’t state the reason why they were ordered to get the vaccine but if there wasn’t one, it’s a worrying precedent that anyone going through the judicial system could be ordered to get one as a condition for favorable treatment.

I got married when I was 23.
