Both female and male child genital mutilation is wrong and should not be excused. The reason why FGM is getting more attention is probably because more children die because of it. While MGM " only" involves the foreskin( still not excusable) FGM cut of a lot more leading to excessive blood lose, infection ect. It's sad how many dead children it takes for people to see that something is a problem and sadly until some major problems arise because of MGM it will probably go unnoticed

If you prefer the bachelor lifestyle that is completely fine, but should marriage be about love and not about if its cheaper or not ?

I already explained this in another comment, i work in health care and since i aspire to become a midwife i work primarily with woman. They also get called hysterical a lot be it by psychologist or other health care operateur. I get that OP wanted to vent and doing so is valid but making generalisations and have people constantly confirm them , could lead to resentment. Instead of making this a woman vs man we should talk about how MI is viewed and how to get better support

I work in health care and have experience it myself. A lot of friends have to. When you are in this toxic headspace and already think you are going crazy a professional telling you that you are will just confirm you own belief and you will stay with the therapist. Also i am currently looking into becoming a midwife and a lot of woman get mistreated while giving birth. So even when in physical pain it will be called overdramatic. I could see if i find some articles in english ( i am german) about…

Like I said professionals will usually call us hysterical instead of helping. We mostly find support with each other

Its okay if you dont care about all that, but why put women down. Woman like to dress up for themselves and like being independent. If that is not for you there a plenty of woman that like to take on the role of the homemaker. Look for those eomen instead of putting independente woman down

I have agreed with op on another comment. I just wanted to show how MI affect women just as negatively. Yes we might get into a relationship more easily but at the cost of being in the hand of some one who could be abusive. And i am replying to a of this because i wanted to give an insight on female MI and get hate just because I am a woman. Does this not show that woman also get treated unfairly based on gender ?

No I didn't, first of all i didn't not see myself as worthy of love ( which is absolutely not true every one should be love even if only platonic) and second of all i though i would only walk this earth for at most a few more months, so it would be cruel to get into a relationship when i will kill myself. Now that i am much better i am in the dating market, but I have seen my mental illness being sexualised. So there are a lot of men that want mentally ill girls because they think they are easie…

But again you are reducing this to sex. If this is al this is about, again why not sex workers? And a man that slept with 150 woman must be really bad in bed or an awful person otherwise they would manage to keep a partner

I am doing research and dating and loneliness. I am in health care and work with psychologists to understand the rapid loneliness in young folks. So I am not just talking about my personal experience, but the ones sex psychologists that work with couples have toled me. Women nowadays can earn money themselves and get to a higher social status. Therefore, they dont look for that in men anymore. Before, women had to find good earning men to provide. Now, they look for emotional compatability. And …

I still don't get It. Why not go to a professional? Why lie ? Wouldn't you feel bad knowing you are lying to get your way? I have had a narcissist in my circle of friends who would do the same. They are now in therapy because their compulsive lie let to problemes

But that is deception and falls under rape. Like I said, you can get sex by paying for it . If you want affection, why get it from someone who only likes your money and the lie you made up. The incentive is to get a true bond. Otherwise, everyone could just sleep with everyone, and we would have families

I think everyone should have a healthy amount of fear regarding others, especially strangers. Women are also careful around men to protect themselves, so it's only fair men do the same. Better safe than sorry. But remember, caution can become paranoia really quickly. If you think it is affecting your life negatively, seek professional help. Edit: grammar errors, thank you to the person who pointed them out👍

Actually, it is the fault of the patriarchy that men are still seen as what they can offer. Back in 1950, man got wives because they provided for them, this is not a feminism issue. Most women don't want a 6-figure, 6-pack , 6-foot Guy. Most of my girlfriends are with guys the same height as them and out earn them. And yes, men do have it harder on the dating market, but again, this is because of the traditional belief of man as the breadwinner

If you just want sex why not just go to professionals? Why lie to someone?

First of all, I am 18( yes, 2004 was 18 years ago) I am from an immigrant household I learned how to pay taxes when I was 12 and take care of all the paper work on our second house. I'm young, not incompetent

I hope you get out of that dark place sooner rather than later. Your experience with mi is valid. When you are mentally ill, everyone else seems to have it much easier. And I do agree with the romaticisation of mi in women, but this done by and men( the whole thing with daddy issues) . So might women get relationships easier but at the cost of being fetishised. And again, I hope you and the woman you were talking about get the right support from your therapist and your community

I am German, the legal drinking age is 16, and I have been driving for over one year now. I don't pay from my Internet but for food, transport to school and school books. I also had to manage the household for two years while my mom was working and my dad in the hospital. I don't know everything but I have more life experience than you might expect. You still didn't answer my question

Why ask for my questions and not answer them? You complain about no own understanding man's issues but don't want to communicate your problems

This post literally talks about women's mental health and the way they are treated compared to men. So to understand womens mental health, you should know a bit about it. I get that mens mental health is overlooked and didn't want to take up space I 6 not supposed to, but why compare men and women and not allow women in the discussion?

If someone called you an a-hole, is their opinion still valid, or is it just an insulting remark?

Well, what adequate questions can I ask when apparently my whole existence as a woman is bothersome to the people on this subreddit? I guess it al boiles down to why? Why think of feminism as this big pity party and then go on to do this? Why dislike generalisation of men but hate all women? Why this much resentment?

Like I said I only am on reddit because i am trying to find out what mans right is all about. The person talked about the male experience so i gave my female one . When i talk about my female experience i like getting insight from male peers wo why not the othee way around

Can someone for the love if god tell me what it means to have an anonymous account ? This is the only one i got and i hav only been on reddit for a few days. Also i am not trolling i am simply curious about mens right, since i myself am a feminist, that is why i came to reddit in the first place. The way i see it the people on here are struggling enough as is why try to troll them?

I am a feminist and belive in equality of both gender, i just happen to like feminine things and am happy that i can choose to do them and not be forced to. Also the male feminists i know are good respectable man, so do not insult them like that

You know what , this is actually really valid. I have had bad experience with man and therefore avoid them. I see how man could have a simular experience. We also put way to much importance on the Sex live of others when there is nothing wrong with choosing celibacy.

As a woman, your feelings are valid. I dont understand why anyone female would discredit your emotions. A lot of us have been there and having your trauma simply dismissed is heartbreaking. Regarding your therapist i belive you should tell them a professional should be abel to deal with it appropriately. But at the same time i understand not wanting your trauma to be out in the open like that. So take your time but realise that if there is anyone who should not judge you it is your therapist. I …

Woman go to the gym to you know. And everyone can be who they want to be. Im a feminists and still fall into a traditionally female role ( i like cooking, cleaning and child care) and have gotten nothing but support from fellow feminists. A lot of the male feminists present themselves in a masculine manner and we all support them.

As a woman who also suffers from adhd and had depression to the point i even tried to kill my self one time, it is also not easy for us. My first therapist, right after my first attempt, tried to tell my i am only like this because i am a Virgin and my body is telling me to seek a mate, so basicallyhe wanted to Diagnose me with a modern version of histeria. I also believe that because others think woman have it easy anyway, when you struggle people think its just to get attention. My adhd didn't…

Women also get mocked for still being a Virgin. We are called prude or get told something is wrong when we are not in a relationship. It think we generally care to much about the sex life of others

Where I live you also have to pay more according to your age, so very young and very old people pay more. Is this not also discrimination? This is not a sexism issue it is a business strategy

As he pointed out woman have to guard themselves from strangers, so we should also be isolated, no? The reason why woman still feel intimacy is because we look for it in fellow woman. Why don't men do the same? Yes you will still want intimacy from the other gender, but you will not feel so lonly till you get that

Suicide is always a tragedy so we should make this into a contest of ho suffers more. Woman try to commit suicide just as often as man, but in less violent ways e.g a man killing himself with a gun is less likely to be able to survive, but a woman killing herself with an overdoes can still be saved. We should instead focus on providing better health care for all demographics

This actually not true man have historically beautified themselves. In ancient Egypt make up was woren by both sexes. Even a few decedes ago in Europe man wore make up and wigs. Woman beautify more often because they have been socially thought to do so. It is like brushing your teeth because a habit and you don't feel clean without doing it.

The only reason woman have body positivity is because they advocated for it. If man want it too it is on them to do so. I personally believe more in body neutrality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
