Yes. He was. "Trevor was an incredible human being. A complete encyclopedia of musical knowledge and someone who really crushed barriers of heavy metal stereotypes. Everyone in metal bands were so angry looking and Trevor smiled and lit up the room when he performed. I think this is good advice. You're not her therapist and it's obvious she has no interest in pursuing a healthier attitude. Establish boundaries with her and make it clear why you're doing so. Simply say you would prefer not to hear comments like that as you find them sexist.

This is a straw man argument. No-one said violence against women is rare. Police officers kidnapping and murdering people is a rare occurance. As far as I know this is the first time it's ever happened. That's the very definition of rare.
