You view things in a black and white context. There is no such thing as absolutist reality, always remember that. I would recommend you read to expand your thought pattern and knowledge. Yes that is the obvious solution and one which everyone would recommend. The problem is most people don't hit the gym because they don't know who they are from within, their thought pattern is screwed up and essentially they are not okay with the difficult process of self-improvement. It's hard work and most peo…

You can take this as good or bad advice. In the middle of the 'date' or 'coffee', I always expand with; "I get that you're beautiful, and don't get me wrong that's a huge plus for any guy, but what more is there to you? Are you into chess or tennis?" You can use any example of your own. This will make her expand on her Netflix or she will make things up to validate that she is sporty etc. This randomness catches them off guard as she would usually think I would be dazzled by her beauty, then she…

It has been a learning experience and I appreciate you taking the time to write a well directed response. Entrepreneurship is extremely difficult already without the need for all this BS. I must remember the key points from the last two sentences as I tend to forget to contract people explicitly. I must draw up agreements and keep transactions saved. Thanks again.

I was naive. Friendship is based on 'trust', at least that's what my young self thought. It won't happen again.
/r/askTRP19/05/15 01:53 AM

I accept my naivety of 'trust'. It won't happen again. Real friends are rare, which makes this world god damn difficult sometimes when you can't share what you want without judgement or bad mouthing afterwards.

Solid information. Recommended and saved on my Mac for when I have doubts and need to internalise. Cheers man.

What do you suggest to do 'now' then?

This is the best piece of information to cover my ass for future purposes and continue to pursue my concept.

I have a tendency to ignore people and not really delve too much into aggression. However I do agree I need to show them who the fuck I am.

I agree with the adage but I have a feeling life will take care of him and his average life. The best retributive form of revenge after all is success. I shall remember that. Here in the UK we just call him a cunt.

The verbal contract 'discussion' stated that he was supposed to simply hand me back my domain once he was done, as he was in a bad situation and was close to getting kicked out of university. Most people are stating don't worry about it, but this has essentially made the whole situation dirty. He will have to get dropped immediately. I don't care too much for retribution, his average life and bad habits will take care of him.

Incompetent. You'd be surprised how people are simply just incompetent rather than malicious. They take it at face value and run with it. Just look at religion man. People don't even analyse anything, they just accept what they are being told. The majority of humans are inherently very very stupid.

I honestly don't care what he does with the concept as he's not intellectual enough to make it work. I just don't want him wasting my time and trying to come after me in the near future and lying that it was his concept. So I will have to keep emails stored in my hard drive for any future purposes.
/r/askTRP18/05/15 03:54 PM

Then I will take your advice fully on board. It's all a learning process and I thank you for your time.

I don't care about someone else stealing the concept and creating it in their own way. That's fair competition and I welcome it. Yes and Rockefeller was known for secrecy and so was Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. It's better to be exclusively secretive. But for a long time friend to do it, it makes the whole situation dirty. But once again you are all correct. I just wanted to clear my mind with some perspective and I am done.

I had always assumed the domain registry was not sufficient evidence. I whine about such things because it essentially means that I have to cut him out at a young age. He is a cool dude in other respects and it's just annoying that it has had to come to this.

Very good book, unfortunately I had only read it recently. I will consult from now but wanted to get some perspective from actual people before I went ahead with my execution.

Come on dude. You have a friend that you are close with, at the age of nineteen you have this trust for people as you have not yet fully experienced the world. My father warned me about working with people. Rockefeller's book warned me, but I am just a naive moron. I can promise everyone here, it will never happen again and I value everyone's advice. After this posting, the matter will be closed in my mind.

Going to pursue my original concept.

It is obvious, I feel like a retard for even 'trusting' people now. I always had this notion that people were inherently good, and they would only behave 'negative' towards me, If I gave them a reason to which I have not. I have thrown this truism out of the window. People are inherently animals. This is my belief now. They will screw you if you give them the opportunity. Thanks for the advice, seriously solid information and we tend to forget because people say one thing and do another and we w…

Totally agree. You have to understand that people have this perfect perception of entrepreneurs and their stoic attitude, but it just isn't reality. You doubt yourself on a consistent basis but follow through anyhow. You are right, I could have moved this much faster had I not concerned myself with this bullshit and must adapt a certain mentality otherwise it won't work ever.

At the time of his query and eventual favour I had been going through a health crisis. He caught me at my weakest position as a result and I thought I could trust him as we had been friends for a long time. It won't happen again. Thanks for the advice.

Read Felix Dennis - How to get rich. Sounds cliche. But possibly one of the best books I have ever read and I have read over one hundred books on business in the past year.

My reluctance of going ahead stems from the fact that he is executed a poor idea, not made a cent profit and now will state that I copied his execution and maybe even try sue me if my concept becomes a success. People are dirty animals when it comes to money.

He is gaslighting. He also uses the whole bullshit phrase that everyone in the startup community uses; 'ideas are worthless, execution is key.' Not when I give you the branding you dumb fuck. It's just an absolute joke.

Peter Drucker is wrong and right. Just because it was Peter Drucker that said it doesn't make him right. He is not a god. Most people always reference authoritative people that say this and it's not always right. The domain name represented the idea and the execution of the concept. As a result of his poor execution, it now adds more problems to my mind. The first problem, he might try state that I copied his house style, his logo type. Even though I am the one that discussed these things with h…

Be careful. Most people in the startup community state ideas are not important, only execution is important. That is to some degree correct but very wrong when observing the 'big picture'. You should not trust anybody. You begin and create the concept and make money and register the company and trademark your logo. Competition isn't the point of this post. Everyone must welcome competition but if someone close to you tries to steal your idea and uses a similar name and executes it in a similar w…

He executed the idea in a shitty way. I am now in a position to execute my notion the correct way and I have begun. The only person to make certain ideas work in most occasions is the person that breeds the idea in his mind. My reluctance comes from the fact that because he has created it, he may try come after me in the future and state that I copied his concept.. and this makes me not want to put all that money and effort into the creation and evident profit of the concept. So you are right, q…

Your reading comprehension is far off? Read the first statement I wrote. Everything is more difficult without good money. Nothing is absolute. You can go the other way round if you like, just stating universal facts. All the best.

That's not what I am saying. Money buys you freedom. Freedom gives you time to improve on a daily basis without hassle and create social circles.

People want something in return. What can you offer? Are you a money guy? Are you a tech guy? Can you program? Money essentially gets you to the inner circles. You essentially know what this guy does and how he got there don't you? I mean it's pretty simple. Step 1. Get money and I mean shit tons of money Step 2. Fix your haircut, clothes and teeth. Step 3. Put yourself out there and socialise and get rejected. Step 4. Eventually you have built a social network of constant fucking and partying. …

My name is not english. It's from a balkan country. I appreciate you trying to get down to the root of the issue and showing me how I have blown this out of proportion. The way I see it; I am going to be living here until I die, or possibly in the United States. I think a normal anglicised name would suit me better than a name beginning with Y.
/r/askTRP16/05/15 06:39 PM

Just first name. That would be over the top. Julian is an english name. I do understand you man and I'm truly not trying to be someone I am not and be pretentious, but why not pick a name I like rather than something like Bob or Bill. I simply just want to fit in. I just feel foreign otherwise. Chinese people usually have a normal anglicised first name and keep their original last name. The surname shows enough ancestry heritage and I don't mind keeping that.

Such bad advice.... What's the point? Establish comfort and be direct.. You're just trying too hard. You should probably be there too... just rings stupidity in my mind. You're being evasive and not allowing yourself to be rejected. You guys make it seem like it matters if a girl rejects you? Who the hell caressss. Just do whatever you were doing and proceed onto the next one.

Frame is essentially knowing who you are, and being one hundred percent okay with that. You should not get stifled in almost all situations and should maintain composure in any situation. You can cry at home, just not in public.

Yep they're already giving me shit. Lucky i'm about to change my whole social circle and cheers for the advice.

Congratulations dude. Least you don't give a fuck. Was that your legal name or simply a nickname that you changed? Yep, they have already told me that they don't see the point in changing my name and they will not call me my new name. They are less ambitious and don't even care, as they know they are going to have some boring shit life.

Yes it does and it equates to Lee. However I would prefer to go with Julian, Gabriel or Spencer. It's such a difficult decision. I thought it would be easy.

It's all well and good having a normal first name, but when both your first name and surname are foreign it gives off a weird perception. It's not generally what people expect when they see me. I have a feeling it will make it extremely difficult in interviews when attempting to find a job.

I want to get it out of the way and not have to worry about the continuous oh so that's not your real name etc.
/r/askTRP15/05/15 01:25 PM

It all comes down to perception. Your name is very important here in the UK when it comes to social conditioning, unlike the United States where everyone comes from everywhere and nobody really gives a fuck.

Just read through it, kind of similar in the money and jobs department but rather difficult as a result of the language barrier and hostile environment. Completely forgot about isolation and the later developed paranoia on part of my mother. I know this is moving away from the subject title, but what would you say is the best way to learn to write in a coherent and thorough manner. Everyone states 'read' but I am sure there must be a different way. Is there anything specific I should be reading?…

On my way. Heavily focused, day in and day out focus. Four hours distance in the UK would be difficult. Ideally London. Thanks ;).

Agreed. I guess it comes down to becoming old and being understanding of the changing environment. There's not much more any person can ask for in this world.

The preppy attitude is what I have began in the past year and they state that I have become 'full of myself'. This is not something I am doing to show them I am better, it's just what I have been held back from and my true self has finally begun to present itself. University played a major role in my growth both intellectually and socially. Thanks for the advice ;).

Agreed and I totally understand the reasoning. I should have put more detailed context in the question. The problem with scarcity is it should eventually dissolve the more comfortable and rich you become. They have effectively survived and thrived but yet hold on to frugality and scarcity.
