Not what I said but ok. "Protect and serve" is the motto but not the expectation. Defunding a militarized police force is in every civilians best interest. They can protect the people without the need for anti light personal vehicles and equipment. They can keep the peace by ousting the bad guys in their ranks. They can do right by the community by becoming a part of the community rather than viewing the community they "serve" as if they were mangy dogs. All of this can be accomplished with refo…

Yeah, who do they think they are? The police?

Defunding the police and having the police do their jobs are not mutually exclusive. This and this are good articles to read that say they seek to reduce police budgets that have grown at the expense of the communities they are supposed to serve. I know I'll get down voted to hell but I thought I'd weigh in.

So you would be 1000% ok with your kind d date no one of their teachers immediately after graduating? This is a problem, this is like a therapist dating a patient.... Edit: if grooming for isn't stopped, it leads to a sexual relationship the victim isn't mentally prepared for. And I'm not saying those women in the articles are innocent, I'm showing that women also get called out for grooming. They only get caught after the fact because boys aren't taught that it is wrong if someone else says yes…

He was grooming her, there is no question. OPs title leads you to believe that the teacher only gave the student a hug which paints him as a victim. He is not a victim, he is a douche who was stopped from graduating into a sack of shit. Women also groom. Grooming isn't a gendered issue, it's an abuse of power and station issue.

Dude, end the relationship like an adult. That's all there is to it. I recommend you buy a box of chocolates and curl up on the couch and binge watch the office.

I think this guy saw justice, if I don't look at the cases involving female teachers. He abused his station and now his life is fucked as it should be. If you want equality, we need to all be equal. No gender or race being more/less valuable than the next.

Your title is extremely misleading. The teacher was gromming that kid. Private Facebook messaging and late night Walmart meetups show a lot more than hugs going into the works. He even asked her if she would date him after graduation. Your argument is pretty shitty for an important topic such as punative inequality. It seems like you didn't read past the headline of the article.
