Then you might as well say marriage is antiquated. If you can't even respect the man you're marrying, then why even bother. Taking the man's last name has nothing to do with respect. The tradition is a holdover from when women were considered the property of their husbands.

Women complain the same as you, and no less rightly or wrongly. Normally I might ask what is it about you that finds untrustworthy women attractive, but I'm not here to really challenge your apprehension over being treated unfairly. Married here. Have a good job. Wife (15 years in September) makes several times more than I do annually. Just got back from a week in Aruba, which my wife paid for.
