Except mansplaining is a verb and you're pointing adjectives. If I call someone an "upitty negro" I'm reducing their whole to just that. In the case of mansplaining you'd accuse the person of of mansplaining something in that specific moment.

To be honest, it does feel like y'all are acting very defensively in response to this poster. It seems that most people here agree that the behavior behind the concept of mansplaining is rude, but that it's discriminating that it's labelled in a way that singles out men. That's it? If so just don't be an asshole and no one will ever threaten you of mansplaining.

The only offensive thing is said is that people here were engaging in a circle jerk. Sorry for that. Replace it with group think.

So calling someone misandrist would be a bad thing? Because your comment history shows you like that word a lot

All I see in this thread is fragile masculinity

So yeah, your evidence is anecdotal. It may well be that you have experienced it from women more, and I can't refute that. I'm confident that the overall trend in society is the opposite of what you've experienced.

A lot of the people in this thread are making the same assertion: mansplaining isn't any different than a fallacious attack against credibility, interrupting people, and/or the use of a condescending / irritated / impatient tone in argument. The same people argue that there shouldn't be a gender-specific term for it and that calling it mansplaining is discriminatory against men because women do it too. Yes, women do it, too. Trans people do it, too. All people do this. Being an asshole is agnost…

Y'all are helpless. Enjoy your circlejerk while continuing to completely miss the point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
