A reasonable sentence and efforts to rehabilitate this offender would be better overall for everyone involved but not in our country. 3	Picture of a man being told he was innocent, after 40 years spent in prison I get what you're saying but in your hypothetical situation, it seems you are choosing to get locked up for the greater good. Obviously, the real world doesn't work that way. The system is designed to coerce confessions and get convictions, not necessarily to find the truth. You're getting downvoted because when innocent people go to prison, it is against their will and that's not something society should allow to happen.
