I’m coming from the stance than ‘man ‘is an umbrella term that encompasses 2 types of men, cis men, and trans men. You saying that ‘men’ does not include trans men is where we disagree. Also, ‘alphabet mafia’? Come on.

It truly lets the side down. You can’t claim to fight sexism and prejudice by doing the exact same thing. I thought this sub was to fill the gaps which feminism overlooks, because we NEED to focus on both mens and women’s rights. Not sure this sub has that outlook currently, I’m out.

I’d hoped this place was progressive but this has really exposed this subs true colors. I’m now realising trans men would never be allowed to be a part of this conversation - evidently not a safe space. Why this resistance to modern ways of describing someone accurately? If you’re part of the ‘I’m just a dude crowd? don’t call me cis’, that would make you (knowingly or not) part of the trans men arent men and trans women aren’t women crowd, which is a viewpoint I cannot stand by or respect.

Never positive is not true at all. I’m friends with many people under the trans umbrella and they exclusively use the term ‘cis man’ as a purely factual statement same way they would ‘trans woman’ etc. It’s just a way to accurately and sensitively describe someones gender

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
