I'm sorry, there's nothing you can do for this person. Not only is it not your place to change them or fix them, it would be naive to think you could without a serious battle. It's very difficult to change people, even is they want to change, which your friend doesn't by the sounds of it. Best you can do it either cut them off or learn to put up boundaries between what you can and can't talk about.

I'm gonna come in here with a marketing perspective, since it's clearly a marketing ploy. The gourp they're targeting (catering to) is very very tiny. It's a very small subset of the population they will be pleasing by changing their logo, but mind you there's also a portion of the population they will be pissing off enough with this move to lose their business forever. Basically, rebranding is REALLY expensive. It's not just like "printing new packages" for a company of that size, it can cost u…

Dear god thank you for this comment. I'm not too out of my healthy body weight (10-15 lbs) and I have to say this was very motivating. I lost sight of why this is important so thank you! You really got to me on this one.

Just popped in to biefly talk about a mental trap I think you're falling into on this one. It's the "I'm not a terrible person, just someone in a terrible situation" This excuse is the basically the child of the parent thought "i am a nice person. I let people walk all over me and all the personality tests say I am empathetic so I can do no harm" FALSE. This is entirely incorrect and it's a really common mental trap to fall into. I have a friend who considers herself to be empathetic. In reality…

It's funny OP often comments on others' explainations being too simplistic when in reality their entire post is too simplistic. I guarantee the situation is far more complex than "ugly girls are upset so they go crazy on the feminism stuff" it's not so simple. I might be people that are lacking in some way, whether that be in self-confidence, personality, happiness, looks, etc. But you cant simply state that it's just ugly girls crying about being ugly, thats not true. As a 22 year old, I can ea…

Thank you for this reply! I think there's a fine line here between a man being unappreciative and a guy just speaking his love language. If OP's boyfriend did nothing else for her then I might jump on board the "leave him" train, but the fact is that we actually aren't given enough information to judge that here. Honestly my issue with advice on Reddit is that you get a snapshot perspective into someone s life narrated by them, god only knows what goes on in real life, whether or not they're bei…

Test for you: If you say no to someone for something and they get upset at you, they're using you. It's my like universal rule of life. If someone is asking a favour of me, I have every right to say no. If they get upset when I say no (within reason) then they aren't good for me anyways and I'll probably drop their friendship. It's hard both ways. I used to be a lot more of an intense person, in sure some people thought I was a bitch. I was just very assertive and intense, I also had a low toler…

It's funny in my life I've seen both ends of the spectrum, they're equally as bad. I have a friend with no backbone, she's really nice but she kind of sucks as a person. She lets people use her as a doormat, but resents them for doing it. So she's grown into a resentful person for allowing others to treat her the way they do. I like her enough, we used to be really close childhood friends but I can't really be friends with her anymore because she's kind of intelorable to even be around. All she …

Well it depends on how you define "bitchy" women. If you're talking about a truly nasty woman, like someone whos mind of crazy, I always presumed it was just weak men. Controlling and mean women are often with weak men who don't know how to think for themselves. They don't mind being bossed around because they don't know better, and they tolerate the psychotic behaviour because the alternative is to think for themselves, which is arguable harder than dealing with a crazy person. A woman who isn'…

They might've meant "he told me to order it as a gift from him". I can't count the number of times I've walked into a store and seen something I liked, looked at the price tag, and then away. But if my boyfriend likes it too he'll often pick it up for me, or tell me to go get it one day as "his treat". We don't need people to judge here. You had no reason to even presume she was insanely submissive yet you did. Guess we see what we want to see. Get off this sub. Now. And stop judging people. Edi…

Op give up the dramatic act and take responsibility for men not pursuing you. You've said that you ignore men you're interested in, you aren't friendly to men in public, you basically do nothing at all to help yourself and then you whine about not having any male pursuers of good quality and blame it on your city? With an attitude and mentality like that if I were a man I wouldn't be interested in you either. Take responsibility for yourself. Accept that no it's not your city to blame, you need …

I think you two are feeling quite sorry for yourselves when all things considered, your situations are not that bad. It wasn't too hard to figure out where both you and OP are from and provided I'm right, you both live in major cities in Canada. I find it utterly surprising that you have both vetted an entire huge city in Canada because you think things are better elsewhere... I'm from Winnipeg, I'll just put that out there, and let me tell you it does not get easier in a smaller city. Yes our c…

I understand both sides of it, and it's such a tough situation. On the one hand, she's totally right. She worked her butt off to get into med and deserves to do something interesting. On the other hand, there are sacrifices that must be made regardless. Something my mom told me awhile ago that stuck me was this "the sacrifices you make for your children and your family are never ending. It's why you can't think of them as sacrifices, and you can't always focus on what's fair or not. People are s…

Listen, I'm sorry but with surgery as the residency choice I honestly think you can't have it all unless you sacrifice career. It's just not happening. I love the story of the at-home gynecologist but it's not like you can perform surgeries at home. Love this comment because it sounds so wholesome! Op I like to use mine for what I learned is called "thought dumping". In "the power of positive thinking" by Peale he goes over just dumping your worries into a journal every day. Once you've done that your kind is now empty and free from negative thoughts and feelings, all you have to do now is just make sure you fill it with positive thoughts so there's no space for the negative spots to come in your mind anymore. I've been thought dumping 2x d…

I think the internet definitely makes the long-term relationship game way harder for women than it used to be. Hookups are a given now and men have come to expect them. If men can hookup with a bunch of women constantly, wouldn't it be quite a bit harder to actually get one in a relationship. I don't know why but I've also found that women tend to date down on the attractiveness scale, like a really hot woman will often be with a "meh" dude. My theory is that it has to do with the reassurance th…

Alright alright, I think people are going a bit crazy here saying she's definitely attracted to him. There's no telling that from this story, it could just be someone who is seriously socially incompetent or just wasn't thinking. I know sometimes I've said things kinda like that (not as bad though) in the past without even realizing. Big dick energy is actually a term, one which I think isn't necessarily insinuating anything sexual. At least, my understanding of it is that it's not saying "hey y…

I love this advice so much because it's crazy similar to how I am! I don't dislike myself and it's not like an outward problem with other people, I would actually just prefer to be more soft-spoken at this point in my life because being that like outgoing person can be exhausting and sometimes awkward... It would be nice if I could tone that part of me down so I can explore what other ends of conversations and group gatherings can feel like!

Though it's never been explicitly stated, there have been awkward moments in the past. I've mostly worked that stuff out but I would like to get better and being a bit more toned down, if you will. I think people will take me more seriously that way too, if that makes sense. A lot of people see me as a jokester and that's great, but sometimes I am being serious and I think people (friends, family) have a hard time seeing that part of me. Also since my personality is quite strong people often ass…

Hi fellow student 👋🏻 I found university so far to be the most confusing and lonely portion of my life. I find making friends can be kind of difficult and it's lead me to feel all alone. Some things I did to give myself structure and feel better about where I'm going: Wake up at the same time every day. Every. Day. No excuses. I didn't see the value in this but it made a world of difference. In high school you get up at the same time daily, but as an adult you're free to do whatever. I just find …

I honestly don't think this isnt the sub to ask this question... Why don't you try r/relationships? TRPW is all about commitment and loyalty, which you two have already broken. Nobody here is going to be able to help you because honestly this is an unanswerable question to me. When I give people advice, I often put myself in their shoes and imagine what I might do in this scenario, a thought experiment if you will. In your case, the experiment is way too far-fetched because I would just never le…

I mean, it's both a privilege and a curse IMO. I have a friend like this she grew up just gorgeous and she's always had pretty privilege. Thing is she's so pretty and young and sweet that a) everyone does everything for her, since she's always let them do that, she can do literally nothing for herself really. B) people shy away from telling her hard truths that might be painful so she's extra sensitive to honesty. She's a lovely person, don't get me wrong. But I'm thankful to a certain extent th…

Very helpful! Well he's definitely not doing it for bragging rights or to be self employed for the sake of it. His brother and him are both very entrepreneurial just in personality, they would have a tough time working a 9-5 type job. Meanwhile the other two of his siblings are into the more education realm. He hated university and high school, which is really what pushed him to want to go out in his own. I mean he's learning from scratch how certain ecommerce sites work. He has a specific field…

I'm sort of struggling with this right now. My current boyfriend is great in many aspects, but he's definitely the entrepreneur type. He's very ambitious and he definitely works hard, but it's yet to pay off. Luckily for us he's a few years older than me, so I still have time until this starts to become like a major problem for myself, but not having the security of whether or not one of his business plans will actually work is starting to make me nervous.. I'm lucky that he comes from a relativ…

Good thing I'm not looking for a 60 year old red pill guy to hold me at night I guess... Not passive aggressive. I'm not angry at him for expecting me to put them back, I just don't want all of these favours to feel expected. Maybe if I was his wife things would be different, but since he hasn't given up his full commitment I won't be doing everything (cooking, cleaning, laundry) for him quite yet.

Okay so my boyfriend is kind of similar with not caring so here's my latest trick. I'll say what do you want to do today, A or B (two plans we might be already sorted narrowed in on together, not just me making them) and he'll hit me with "I don't care" then I go "well which would you prefer?" Then I do something sweet like run my hands through his hair or stroke his arm or hold his hand or something. It puts him kind of in "boyfriend" mode if you will, which pushes him to make a decision for us…

Yeah for sure! Also I use hydrating products in the morning, like Aloe Vera or snail mucin essence. They're both very watery products and I find it gives me a very dewy look which I love :) I make sure not to use any mattifying products in the morning as well! I know you said naturally but there's a few makeup tricks that are great. For example I put a little bit of shimmery eyeshadow in the corner of my eyes, those add a natural glimmer to the eye which makes them pop. That plus mascara does wo…

Well a good skincare routine will go a long way... A great Way to make your skin glow is to incorporate vitamin C into your routine! The Ordinary has really great, cheap products that are good quality. I highly recommend visiting a skincare sub or the r/beauty sub, they're really nice there! :) I personally wear a bit of lip gloss that's not too shiny, which draws attention to the lips.

She wasn't just whining there was a genuine question there... La vie on Rose. I know I don't like the feeling of lace much, it bothers my skin. I tend to order super cute like grey underwear material kind of lingerie, or I order silk which doesn't bother me Or things that don't touch my skin much like mesh dresses? The question is what do you find uncomfortable.

What I'm God's green earth are you talking about. Maybe this was true in a time where men couldn't divorce women. But in this day and age, a woman that takes no responsibility for herself will suffer. If she doesnt carry any weight, she would end up alone. Plus I'm not entirely sure what your point about women needing to be protected is... Like the whole reason why women (in general, of course I'm working in blanket statements here) feel the need to be protected and provided for is because biolo…

So you just wrote an entire post about how this woman is just the worst, then someone agrees with you and you defend her? Seriously get it together. Stop making excuses for her. You contradicted yourself like three times already. First you said she never showed empathy, now she did. You sound like a woman. Stop arguing and start accepting it, she sucked. Move on.

Last, you should really start to examine why you keep attracting brainless, manipulative women. It's not normal to have a string of incredibly shitty women as girlfriends, if that's the case, you're doing something wrong. It sucks these women exist, but you certainly don't have to put up with them. Learn to read the red flags before you get invested.

Alright first, this woman you were with was a master manipulator. Your job is to weed out the crazies like that, she didn't love you. Manipulative women tend to be pretty incapable of truly loving someone, how can you love a person and still manipulate them and watch them suffer in front of you? Next, get a grip. There are women out there who will love you, just never unconditionally. That doesn't mean great LTR type women don't exist. It means you actually have to work hard to maintain the rela…

Really because from the research I've done it's an enhanced reward from the incentives provided. It doesn't state which incentives those are, in other words, incentive could be anything from incentives to make money, or incentive to drink.

This could also turn into someone who smokes weed all the time for more dopamine kicks, or drinks all the time instead of getting shit done, for dopamine kicks. Having high dopamine doesn't just "motivate" you to do the "right thing". It motivates you to get more dopamine highs, which can mean a number of things. Often very assertive men of incredibly high IQ end up wasting loads of time smoking/drinking if they don't take the time to contemplate where they came from. I've seen this happen quite…

This may be true for a majority of women, but not every single rule applies to all women. I think it's ridiculous to think that every single woman who sees $30,000 in a bank account would blow it mindlessly. I don't think there's any way to train someone out of that, and if you're ever looking for an LTR then you obviously can't be going for someone who can't even handle a mere 30 thousand. Fact is there are plenty of women who can manage finances perfectly fine and who won't pull a lot of this …

I think it's more than just women, I think that question is much broader than you may think. It's almost impossible to have any type of meaningful conversation with any group of people at a party. In fear of offending, people have been forced to talk about only "non-offensive" stuff, which is just anything plainly uninteresting. Women tend to fall for this more because they, on average, tend to be more agreeable than men, thus making it easier for them to accept such mundane conversations. They'…

I think you have to find one that's been through some shit, but pulled herself out of it. Those are the type of women that are incredibly empathic. Plus, empathy and sympathy aren't entirely the same, sympathy is feeling sorry for someone (but ultimately you could still do them harm, like cheat on them). Empathy is putting yourself in the other person's shoes. A truly empathic person would be fantastic LTR material, a sympathetic person has no trouble hurting someone else if it will benefit them…

Any type of nose strips should get rid of them pretty well (biore has good ones). You can also chemically dissolve them, Korean brand COSRX has cotton balls that dissolve them and clear pores.
