100%, there is a time for ego and force and a time for detachment. Just have to know when to use each approach. A lot of people get stuck going too far in one direction or the other and wonder why things aren't working out they way they want to.

I’m sure you hear this all the time but you need to focus on becoming exceptional. Become a rockstar at your career or whatever you do. Become wildly successful. Then they will come to you. Some people just start out with a worse hand. Play your cards right you can still win.

You need to build confidence in other areas of your life other than just your looks. That means goals, hardship, etc. All while also approaching and talking to women...failing with them, eventually succeeding with them. It may take awhile and you may not master it until after college.

No judgment but you should try and get some relationship experience so that if/when you decide to settle down and start a family you don't get owned. Nothing worse than a high status and rich successful man with poor social skills getting owned in divorce due to lack of relationship experience. You put in the work to get success other areas of life, might as well shore up your vulnerabilities.

Ultimately, you have micro and macro factors you can control in a relationship. If you marry a woman that makes more than you she will always hold you in lower regard in the back of her mind because of the status differential, even if you are better looking, have a cooler career, etc. In the beginning they will always say it doesn't matter but the doubt creeps up over time.
