Update: so, I went on the date. I made an excuse that I had to leave early because I was getting a weird vibe from him. Plus, he said he was dressing casual. I thought casual meant a nice pair of jeans, a nice shirt and nice shoes. He showed up in basketball shorts and flip flops. 🤦‍♀️

I have a first date with one on Thursday. I haven’t been on a date in almost 4 years. We live an hour away from each other. We are meeting at the casino near me for a early dinner. I use to work at the casino as a blackjack dealer. Maybe I’ll make my rounds at the table games so others can see me before I meet up with him. And when we leave, I will say bye to him out front and not at my car and wait for a few minutes before I leave. Just to be on the safe side.

What about prison guards? Any data on them? Or at they lumped in the same category as cops and military personnel?

Man. This hits home. I always said I would never have an only child because I’m an only and I know how hard it can be without a sibling... but after having a high-risk pregnancy that ended up with my son being born 5 weeks early via c-section and having a severe PPD that I fully believe lasted until he was about 4 or even 5, I won’t have another kid. My mental health was great while I was pregnant... but my body physically hated being pregnant (if that makes any sense).

I don’t see it happening now. She’s in a long-term relationship with marriage right around the corner.

My bestie and I always said that we were going to buy two tiny houses and put them on a plot of land. She will have chickens and cats and I will have dogs.

So, when is a woman suppose to tell a date she’s a single mom?

It’s not wasn’t ignorant for her to say it because it was true. Her comment to me wasn’t about having “warm bodies for a partner to have”. She wasn’t even talking about sex. She was talking about having another person who I could talk to when my emotions are running high. More of having someone else who I could go to and talk about things. Like I said in my original comment, I told her I couldn’t do something like that.

Because her remarks were true at the time. I’ve been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. At the time she said what she said, I hadn’t sought treatment for it. Yes, I was in therapy but I wasn’t in DBT (the recommend course of treatment for BPD). I didn’t know how to handle my emotions or how to handle any situation that caused me distress. We’ve known each other for 21 years. She knows me better than anyone. She’s seen how I can be a lot to handle. Thankfully, with the help of DBT, I…

No, I didn’t get mad at her. I understand where she was coming from. Also, from the ending of your comment makes it sound like she’s in a polyamorous relationship. I’m not sure how my post indicates that she is. I never said she was. I said she has friend who’s do it.

A few years ago my bestie asked me if I have ever thought about being in a polyamorous relationship. She went onto explain she has friends who are involved in polyamorous relationships but they don’t have sex with the second person. The second person is someone they can lean on if they need extra support. She said to me “let’s be honest, you can be a lot to handle at times and that can overwhelm people”. I told her that I knew I was a lot to handle at times but I couldn’t see myself being in a p…

I know this will be an unpopular opinion and will be downvoted, but I couldn’t judge a guy because his mattress is on the floor. Why? Because mine is currently on the floor. Where I’m currently staying, my boxspring did not fit up the stairs. It’s an old house. My bed frame is currently in storage. I wasn’t planning on staying as long as I have at my current place but I have. But I’m also currently not in the market to date. Even if I was wanting to date, I still wouldn’t judge a guy on if he ha…

When I left my sons dad, my family we lived with for awhile wanted me to go for full custody. My mom suggested I give full custody to my sons dad. I was going “are you fucking serious mom?!” She didn’t believe that my sons dad did what he did. Which she was correct on. He didn’t do what I thought he did. But that’s a whole different story! Anyways, back in the summer of 2019, my sons dad helped me move out of my old toxic apartment building by offering me a room to rent. I’m still currently rent…

So, in your opinion, if a parent isn’t able to take to take care of themselves because of their mental health, what are they suppose to do? Just suck it up and damage their kids because they aren’t able to take care of them?

Don’t forget the stigma that surrounds a mom who’s mental health went to shit to the point that she could barely take care of herself and can’t take care of her son. So, she decides to take a step out of her sons life (because he has a great dad and she knows he will be taken care of) in order to get the help she needs so she can be the mom her son needs. But doing that makes her a horrible horse shit mom!

The pandemic makes everything a bit harder. I know there are people who have started new relationships during it but it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.

I get what your saying. I’ll word it differently next time. I mainly dipped my toes into the water because of my recent yearly diagnostic assessment with my therapist. I’ve diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder) and I’ve been working extremely hard at overcoming it. During the assessment my therapist asked me how my fear of abandonment is (it’s one of the traits for those with BPD). I told her I honestly don’t know because it shows up if I’m in a relationship, dating or talking to …

I’m sorry that happened to you. That guy was shitty. I think I’m going to look up that website.

You know I had a woman once say to me “at least with small boobs you won’t have to worry about them getting saggy when your older!” That’s one thing I remind myself. I do need to learn to love them for what they are.

I totally get what you mean. It shouldn’t matter but it still does. I think a lot of it comes from society telling women that big breast are the way to go. It’s been recently I started speaking to my close friends about body image. They all understand. It’s nice to have friends who are understanding.

That’s true. Except I ended up not breastfeeding my son. I ended up with postpartum depression a week after he was born (not sure if it was actually PPD at that point but it ended up being PPD) and my milk dried. It was too much stress for me to try and breastfeed. Even pumping proved to much because of my mental state.

I was extremely flat chested in high school. I didn’t get sort of breast until after I had my son. Even nowadays I’m only a B cup. Anyways, freshmen year of high school, I had a guy tell me “She isn’t a girl because doesn’t have any tits!” I was struggling with my body image during my teens. Im 36, still struggle with my body image and that comment has always stuck with me. Even when I was at my heaviest weight, my breast never grew. They’ve always stay the same size since giving birth to my son…

Thanks! ☺️ The funny thing is I wasn’t planning on doing it. It just happened. I use to be one of those women who thought her self worth and validation came from men. I now know that isn’t the case. I recently told my therapist that I’m lonely and a bit jealous of my friend who recently met someone new. My therapist asked me if I have the time to put into finding someone and having a relationship. The honest is no, I don’t. I have more important things going on in my life then having a relations…

I haven’t been in a relationship in four years. I haven’t dated in three years. I haven’t had sex in two years. And I haven’t had an online dating profile in year. Why? Because I’m doing exactly what you said. I’m working on my own self worth and interest.

Every time I’ve tried to shave my pubic hair off, this always happens! Don’t get me wrong, I trim. But I’m at the age now that I don’t give two shits what a guy thinks about it.
