I think that the portion you've quoted is less material to base of the argument presented in the article and more pointing out that the numbers that are tossed out there and are so hotly debated bog down the one fact that the trend is upward and only a retard could not get behind that not being a fact.

Oh, and it's like taking forever to get to court the poor SOB has been out on bail and can't go home because of CPS (4 younger kids at home) for over two years now. DA must be trying to "Bleed and Plead" him and he's been telling them to go to hell. The whole family has been Fvck'd over.
