While I do believe you CAN have a healthy relationship with a man 10 years older than you if you’re cautious and sure that he’s an HVM, I meannnn if you’re 50 and 60 yeah, but I’m so tired of seeing the 20F and 30M posts where the guy controls her every move, knowing that a woman his age wouldn’t put up with that

The only HVM I’ve met or known of are dads. My dad, grandfather, and some dads of family friends. This to me shows that men aren’t capable of maturing and becoming adults until they are raising children, and even then still most don’t.

Your actions told you that you’re not as into him as you thought. That’s okay though, it’s nice to have a first relationship that sets specific expectations for how you should be treated in future relationships. Same thing happened to me, 2 years, not a match at all, but I’m so happy I dated him because now while I’m dating around I don’t expect anything less than how he treated me, and now I have such better standards.
