Look, I have no problem with people who volunteer their time for military service on a surface level, but don't start acting like I owe you something because you volunteered to "protect" me. Liberty is the most important thing to uphold, regardless of age. Choice is what defines a person, and to take that away from someone takes away their ability for self-determination and self-actualization, and that's abhorrent, especially during the age when self-actualization is the most important.

That's an even worse idea. It violates the single most important right a person has: the right to personal liberty. Being forced into military service is a revocation of your right to choice by the state, and choice is what defines us. Furthermore, I don't see how it would do anyone "a world of good." Boot camp exists to break people down and retrain them to kill other people. Does that sound like a great idea to you?
