Routinely throwing up can reduce, or even eliminate the gag reflex. So she'll have that going for her.

If you still fear death, as I do, it can be a useful motivation. This one is from Castaneda: "The issue of our death is never pressed far enough. Death is the only wise adviser that we have. Whenever you feel, as you always do, that everything is going wrong and you're about to be annihilated, turn to your death and ask if that is so. Your death will tell you that you're wrong; that nothing really matters outside its touch. Your death will tell you, I haven't touched you yet."

...strike while the iron is hot. Crucial. I remember someone else describing this as having the "killer instinct". Uncertainty, hesitation, poor logistics, etc. When you are the top option, you have a brief window of free action.

Great stuff. Thanks for covering all the objections, in advance. I love calling girls out on their bad behavior, even or especially the most minor infractions. If you are her top option the response will be one way. If not, it will be the other way. Either way, you will know.

The scene where the boys (and Pinocchio) are turning into donkeys? My interpretation (and Peterson's) is that the slavers are encouraging them to explore their base instincts: drinking, cursing, gambling, talking tough, etc. Those behaviors coarsen them, which eventually results in their turning into donkeys (asses). The slavers then sell them off, making their condition permanent. They've descended to an animal level and live out their lives at that animal level, enslaved by other people. Pinoc…

This comment hits home. Having to talk your dad through a near-divorce is bad enough; not liking him or respecting him as a person, and having him know it, is even worse. All you can do, in the long run, is work on yourself and be an example. In the event of an emergency, put your own oxygen mask on first...

Started reading the article and noticed that the first few stories include a man claiming he was pressured into sex by a woman and a woman claiming she was pressured into sex by another woman. Should be interesting to see how the #metoo movement and the cooperative legal system handle those cases.

Good call. Showing is always more powerful than telling. Script writers always strive for this but usually fall short, often due to time pressure. In day-to-day life there is no such pressure: you have the luxury to demonstrate the right approach in real time.

Fearfully preserving what we have is distracting us from boldly developing future possibilities. South Korean plastic surgeons are not going to slow down the development of stem cell therapy because they're worried about messing with life. Chinese authorities will not be worried at all when self-driving car prototypes take out a few random citizens.

Bingo! The vetting (evaluation, filtering) process is a training (shaping, making, editing) process. The material you are working has an inherent potential and your efforts should be calibrated for best results. Push too hard or too soon and the material fails. Take too long or don't push hard enough and the material never becomes as good as it might have been. You are the alchemist, extracting gold from the stone.

Have dealt with this in a few cases, both plates and LTRs. Even "agree and amplify" becomes an effort if a woman is consistently "complaining and blaming", especially in an LTR. Starting to wonder if completely ignoring the complaining and blaming statements is the better approach. Will have to try that as an experiment and see how it turns out. If you have more thoughts on this it might be worth posting. I don't know if AWALT holds but it seems common enough that most men have run into it, one …

The phrase "I wish I could be like that" is a stone's throw away from, "I'll buy whatever he's selling." Well put. Also, "I want to know him, hang with him, etc." This approach also increases the chance for you to bump into someone you "know" almost everywhere you go. This is massive social proof when you're socializing, on a date, or meeting colleagues in public places. When someone else politely interrupts your conversation to say hello, people understand that you have friends and other people…

From my own experience (multiple LTRs that end when she wants marriage) this description makes perfect sense. Started to see a slight variation in this pattern develop with the later and most recent LTRs: Women wanting children even more than provisioning. They are willing to keep working or rely on their parents, which means the man they settle for can give them children without real financial or material support. These women still insist on marriage but that might only be a formality, a social…

Enjoy the nostalgia. Let it wash over you and through you. Give it a few hours, or days, and return to your rational self. Start thinking about your strategy. You have a good one in hand and (perhaps) a great one in the bush. What an opportunity! No matter how it plays out, this will be an experience. Every man should be so lucky.

He's giving you great advice. Don't reject it out of hand. Even better, don't react emotionally to it. Hold fast, pin that advice down and dissect it: What is he trying to tell us (not just you)? What lesson does his reply hold for us? Here is my attempt: We are, each of us, on our own. If we are not for ourselves, who will be for us? When things don't go our way it doesn't help for us to complain and expect the world to change to suit us. We need to be rational, assess what has gone wrong, and …

Or turn the tables. Schedule a bunch of women for the same time, or for closely overlapping times (every 15 minutes, say). If most flake you'll still have something to work with. If multiple women show up at the same time, even better. Invite them all to join in at once or take them in sequence. Either way, you're putting on a show and giving them something new to experience. If you can handle the situation well, you're demonstrating preselection.

All great responses. This one stuck out as great, but perhaps a bit too terse. Read more on here about covert contracts. Yes! Read more about cover contracts here, and other places as well. "No More Mr. Nice Guy", by Robert A. Glover, covers this idea in detail.

Exactly my experience. Anything you tell them will eventually be used against you. Another good reason not to argue with women: You won't force them to use personal information against you when they are losing on the merits.

Many men are also deeply masochistic. What could be more delicious than denying one's own selfhood? They revel in promoting a philosophy that is dead-set against them, that blames them for everything?

This. This is key. Going to edit it down a bit, in the hope that it will be easier to understand: "Women will use things against you." Do not, ever, give any women any information that can be used against you. I don't care who they are or how close they are to you. Keep that shit to yourself. Have made this mistake several times with the closest members of my family, and with my longest-running female friends. Just don't do it.

Accept that people will behave this way, both in the past and in the present. She did things she doesn't want to admit to you. Likely she senses that you will react badly, think less of her, if she tells the truth. If you accept her for what she is, she will have less need to lie about her past or about how she is operating now. You won't be upset about her behavior in either case. It's still a useful skill to check what people are saying, find the discrepancies, and think through how they will …

Sexual dimorphism seems connected to the mating strategy. See "Sex at Dawn" for comparisons between primates that are closely related to us.

"Sex Before Dawn" might have some ideas to aid your analysis. Three come to mind now: First, the primate species closest to us employ the different mating arrangements that we also use (monogamy, polygyny, etc). Second, some of these species are able to use different mating arrangements, depending on environmental factors. A monogamous pair that guards a specific territory might be the more successful approach when food is scarce (just as an example). Third, some species that require a genetic c…

I've seen psychologists explain people getting fatter as a defense mechanism -- an attempt to protect themselves from life by adding extra padding. Not sure if the idea is physical protection or becoming so unattractive that other people simply ignore you. Hadn't thought of it as a lack of self-regard or self-love. Seems like a good explanation. If you hate yourself then why take care of your body?

Hating yourself is just another form of self-importance. It allows you to think you're not motivated by focusing just on yourself, which is an advantage compared to thinking you are just peachy. Start by taking the long view, like some NASA scientist type: You are just one organism from one species wandering around the surface of one planet in a massive universe. Yes, she is either checking to see if you still care (monsieurhire2) or trying to make you jealous. If you don't care about her then you have nothing to lose. When she starts on this topic just get up and leave. Each time she starts on this topic, just end the interaction. Stay away for a little longer, each time it happens. She'll either get the message and stop bringing it up or you'll stop seeing her at all.

So many good points in this reply: How attracted she is depends on "the moment". The same woman will have wildly different levels of attraction to the same man, depending on the situation. If an action is viewed as a "duty" rather than a free choice it will be much less attractive to her. Duty sex is a bargaining chip. The prize is something else and the sex is the payment. You want the sex with you to be the prize. If she loses attraction to you it might be your fault. I say "might be" because …

Moving a man from "Sad because this one girl ignores/left/betrayed me." to "It feels like there has to be more to life than being able to get girls." is a big win, for any belief system. You're at least one big step up Maslow's Hierarchy. Might take other tools to get you up those other steps.

Lots of different techniques for handling procrastination. First one that comes to mind: Identify your goal, then narrow it down to the smallest possible step that you can take towards the goal. For example, your goal is to floss your teeth every day. It's a hassle, you are not good at it, it takes too long. Okay, decide to floss just one tooth, each time. Pick an easy one. If you can build the habit of flossing just one tooth each day, you'll be flossing your whole mouth in short order. Credit …

You did what you had to do. Whether you had more fun without her, or not, is irrelevant. I probably would let my intentions show, leading to the scene at the hotel front desk. Staying cool enough to pack and check out without tipping anyone off would be better. The slow realization that you hadn't come back with the beer, then noticing your backpack and other belonging were gone, etc. That sequence would have been more troubling to her in the long run, and perhaps more instructive.

For as long as I can remember it made sense to keep controversial ideas to myself, unless someone explicitly asked me about it. Over time I got even more conservative and looked for some proof that the person was actually ready to understand and possibly accept the idea. I didn't have a good formula for it but use a similar approach to evaluation interactions with plates. My goal was to prevent plates turning our meetings into dates, while still leaving them enough room to plausibly deny that our interactions were only for sex. I'll think of "DTF or not" next time this situation comes up.

Agree. Almost all animals can be trained and social animals are especially amenable. Men are easier to train than women. I think it's because they want to appear rational, and because they are more accountable to each other, but perhaps that's just my own prejudice and limitations talking. Realizing how trainable I am was a breakthrough. I can train myself to a new behavior (self improvement) or recognize when others are attempting to shape my behavior (persuasion, incentives). Not sure why this…

This is brilliant. I haven't felt that reaction in the past. Usually just feel a bit embarrassed that someone is losing control of their composure, especially when it happens in the workplace. Need to work on my own reaction and see if I can train myself to respond this way.

Guessing this comment was facetious. Even so, it's accurate. You might be surprised what a woman can be trained to do, and how much she will appreciate being trained and exercised accordingly. Society being what it is, she'll probably want it to be kept just between the two of you.

Experience is similar. She tries out various arguments, not caring too much when they're demolished. When her list is exhausted she goes for the emotional, "how could you", angle. If that fails to move you, she bursts into tears. "I'm a bad mother...", etc. So repetitive it feels instinctual. Like the digger wasp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNvi_j2z96w

Sure. But when we use "manipulation" with a bad connotation we generally mean inducing someone to do something that is against their own interests. I don't think that's the case here. The goal is for you and her to be happy with each other and the relationship. That's in her interest!
/r/TheRedPill23/12/17 01:04 AM

Yes, exactly. We don't like to think of people as "animals" unless we're being scientific about it. Likewise, we don't like to think of our interactions as "animal training", even though that's exactly what they are.
/r/TheRedPill23/12/17 01:01 AM
9

Well said. An animal trainer practices "withdrawing attention" in order to extinguish an existing behavior. This is sometimes necessary before a new behavior can be trained, especially if the cues for the existing behavior are the same as those for the new behavior (that you want to establish). Note that a trainer does not judge the morality of a behavior. He doesn't worry about a behavior being good or bad, only wether it is desired or not. Desired by the trainer, that is, not by the trainee. P…

People with low self-esteem make it hard for others to be kind to them: Anyone treating them well must think well of them. Anyone who thinks well of them is clearly a fool. It follows that the kind person should be avoided, or used, by the low self-esteem person. Crazy and low self-esteem girls can be great fun. Their behavior is unpredictable in the short-term and they will work hard to please people they see as "above them". Helping them to improve, or even just to feel better about themselves…

Great list. Koans can also be used this way. As an example, "What was your true face, before you were born?" Time spent repeating and thinking about a koan often leads to a deep examination of your assumptions. This one challenges the natural belief in your own continuity, first before being born, then after death, and finally in the successive moments during your life.
/r/TheRedPill24/11/17 10:24 PM
16

Good list. Would add: The simplest explanation is the right one, almost every time. If something is going wrong in her life she will have a long and involved story about why it's going wrong. Never mind all that: Your first guess as to the real cause is likely correct.

Exactly. Rules for Radicals: Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

Was expecting the "sunk cost fallacy" to make an appearance here. People don't want to leave a bad relationship because they think they are losing all the time, effort and money that they have put into it. Of course, those resources have already been spent, whether the relationship continues or not, so shouldn't factor into the decision to continue. Would also toss in that women themselves depreciate quickly, especially at certain ages. Finally, the social consequences of admitting to friends an…

Have had past girlfriends say this outright, "You are dangerous for me." Too young and inexperienced to really understand what they meant. At the time, took it to mean that they were not making decisions 100% in their own best interest. Seemed reasonable. That's what love is all about, right? Later modified to a stronger position: That they were not able to follow the life strategy that they knew they should be following, for maximum advantage (beta bucks, alpha fucks). Now appreciate that I lik…

This approach is so common that I think of it as the "boyfriend strategy". You no longer enjoy the relationship but don't want to take the necessary steps to end it (for whatever reason). Instead, you do something outrageous that forces the girl to break up with you, or you simply hang out and be boring until the girl gives up and breaks up with you. It's a completely passive approach. Fits perfectly with the "nice guy" persona. Done it a few times, myself.

Nicely put. Self awareness is always on the cusp of revelation. Sometimes you need to spend a decade or two in a remote monastery, sometimes you need a near-death experience, and sometimes someone just needs to say the right few words to you, at the right time and in the right way.

"Commerce" is our goal here at Tyrell. Rachel is an experiment. Nothing more.

Technology disruptions are supposed to happen when the existing vendors charge too much for products that do too much. The new product does just barely enough but it's much cheaper, and early adopters are willing to make that trade. The market entrants use the initial profits to improve their product and eventually win the mass market. In the early days, the new product isn't quite good enough and people refer to it as a "toy", not for serious use. But the new product keeps getting better until …

Not sure which Jordan Peterson lecture that was but he might be talking about "embodied cognition" or "embodied mind": The idea that a "mind" only develops inside a body that can interact with the world. Good descriptions on Wikipedia and several books on Amazon with similar titles.

Pragmatism: The usefulness of an idea is what determines it's merit. If an idea works, if it gets results, it is valuable. One should hold ideas that lead to successful outcomes.

Recent article in the Washington Examiner, "Emmanuel Macron and the barren elite of a changing continent". The elected leaders of several European countries are childless. Seems like a happy family used to be a requirement for elected officials in liberal democracies. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also has no children. British prime minister Theresa May has no children. Italian prime minister Paolo Gentiloni has no children. Holland’s Mark Rutte has no children. Sweden’s Stefan Löfven has no b…

Good point. If it goes that way, not sure they would even need to keep 20%.

Love the tapeworm analogy. A parasite can live well even if it kills the host. The parasite just needs to find a new host to sustain itself. A proactive parasite would always be on the lookout for a better host, even when it's current host is still healthy.

Many existing problems, in business and government, can be addressed by human-like robots. Those problems are themselves enough to fund development and push down the cost. The full realization of human-like robots might take longer than optimists currently expect but we should assume it is going to happen. Eventually, these robots will be good enough that you cannot tell the difference between them and ordinary people, cheap enough that anyone can afford one. This follows the same development pa…

Right. The wedding is the apex of the average female sexual strategy. It might not be the apex of female sexual strategies.

Or imagine such youthful beauty was commonplace. It would be devalued, and of no advantage to any individual woman.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
