Yep that was the only time I’ve ever been asked for it and the first time I was aware it existed. Apparently my older brother got a notice in the mail that he was registered for it, but I never did. For a short time I thought I slipped through the cracks of the draft lol.

I’m in my early 20s, when I turned 18 I didn’t do anything, never even thought about registering. A few months ago I applied for a government job and was asked for my selective service number, which I didn’t know of course. I ended up finding the selective service website and put in my information, and I did have a number, so I had been automatically registered. I’m guessing they do it automatically now when you get your drivers license.
