Off topic, but it fucking terrifies me how normal he seems. This case really slapped me in the face and woke me up to just how many abusers could be around me. And I would never know. It's so chilling. I'm permanently staying away from men for my own safety.

Also Seungri’s case absolutely disgusted me. These idols aren’t as innocent as they look

Same here. Someone said it was a "female incel sub" and I was like how the hell is that possible? Checked it out and lo and behold, it was the exact antithesis of an incel sub

As a Pakistani woman, this is exactly why I refuse to date south asian men. When you’re born into a culture like this, there’s no way you can make it out without being a misogynistic monster

Screenshot it and send it to his employers or someone he is close with and let them know about this sexual harassment

I come from the same background! That’s why it’s so hard for me to read it haha. I don’t know why I’m putting myself through this, but I know I want to read it at some point. But yeah I can see myself in Mariam’s shoes here and there and I have to put the book down often and then come back to it

Just finished Kite Runner and started A Thousand Splendid Suns today. Khaled Hosseini is a splendid writer but right now it’s so hard getting through Mariam’s story. He does a phenomenal job of writing from a woman’s perspective though and delving into how women are constantly put down by so many different systems in place

If I showed up to a date and the dude spends the entire time trying to teach me something about his own interest, I would ask the gods above to just evaporate me

I'm angry too. So angry. And no laws will be passed. Nothing will be done to protect us. It's wearing on my mental health so damn much. I'm so tired of being a woman in a man's world.

So we are toxic for trying to protect ourselves from men? Who might I add shit on us physically, emotionally, and mentally constantly? Anyone see a pattern there

This is just a guide for how to manipulate and bring down women. The fact that some men genuinely follow this advice is worrisome

It actually makes me so happy to see them twist and turn and get all riled up by a woman’s success. Times are changing, and thank god for that

She’s so right. For the longest time I was confused as to how progressive men could tout feminist language and still act in sexist ways. It turns out that misogyny is so much more deeply ingrained into us than we thought. They quite literally don’t see us as people and only talk about feminism when they are talking about supporting sex workers. Other than that, they’ll stay silent about the plights women face. Their feminism is very surface level. It’s only enough so that women will praise them …

A lot of women never liked their husbands. They just didn’t have a choice because of societal pressure and financial constraints. Sadly these limitations still exist

I love that she’s using her platform to speak out about this! I’m seeing more people start to become aware of how harmful the porn industry is, hopefully things will change for the better in the coming years

We all grow at our own pace. Welcome! I too found this sub because of men shitting on it, and it's honestly the best sub I've ever found. It's just good vibes and lots of support in here :)

I genuinely love kids. They make me happier with their sweet innocence and I feel like I have a connection with them. But being realistic, it just doesn’t help me to have kids. I get no large benefit out of it, and it’ll just cost me time, energy, and money that I don’t have. At this rate, not having kids isn’t even a choice anymore but a necessity for us to survive. The economy is collapsing, climate change is getting worse, women’s rights aren’t getting anywhere, etc. so I think it would be se…

In general, I don't even trust men who claim to be allies to women. I look at their actions to determine that. I've known way too many men proudly exclaim that they are a feminist just to get with women and manipulate them by playing the nice guy act

I'm the same age as Billie and always idolized her for standing up to the media and speaking out against people sexualizing women. Seeing this happen and her recent 180 makes me feel sad and worried for her and other girls who see this as normal. The industry is run by pedophiles, and I hope she makes it out okay. What a sad world we live in

My blood pressure skyrocketed from reading this. Thank god I don't have a stupid man like this in my life, because I just know I would've ended up in jail. How insensitive of him to mock her during a painful experience. I can already see this ending in a divorce

It breaks my heart when so many women are clearly in need of the advice FDS gives and aren't able to see what is happening to them until it's too late. Women on TikTok, women on Reddit, everywhere. I can't help but think how their lives could be different had they found this sub before getting into a relationship. What you're going through is difficult, and it's not your fault this is happening. It's entirely his fault, and I really hope you find the peace and safety you need soon. Stay strong, …

Currently reading Caliban and the Witch, and it does a superb job of highlighting Europe’s transition to capitalism and it’s ties to devaluing women’s work for the sake of cheap labor (so essentially slavery). We got absolutely no compensation for the domestic labor we were required to do, including the work of reproducing and raising future laborers to fuel the economy

Holy shit. I’m baffled at how men don’t even try to hide what pieces of shit they are. I have heard so many stories of women dating men for multiple years and then one day they ghost them or start seeing other women. Like how?? You feel no connection to your significant other? No guilt?? You’re that brainwashed to see women as products? It’s insane and makes me feel so hopeless and sad for the state of the world

Never met an attractive man. When I get closer I see the scruffy body hair, the greasy hair, smell their body odor, see their grimy skin, and I can’t fathom ever touching him I’ve only ever been attracted to men who are celebrities and have to take care of themselves, but that’s literally it

This something I’ve noticed as well. I like dressing nice and presenting myself as beautiful because it’s easier to make friends and interact with the world, but I don’t want male’s to enjoy the sight of me. Dressing cottagecore and catering to soft feminine styles has really helped me with this!

I read one of his books, Kite Runner, over the summer and was blown away. I remember distinctly when he pointed out the double standards between men and women and how women are always scrutinized for their societal interactions but men aren’t. That never left me.
