I hope this doesn't come across as super weird, but when you mentioned some of the issues you were having below the belt, my heart went out to you. My hormonal birth control sent my "feminine health" through a whirlwind of unfortunate events, and they have been so frustrating and embarrassing to deal with. Made me feel nasty and defective. I hope you're finding success in your recovery process.

I just wanted to say that I’m twenty and I have braces! I never had the money to take the plunge until now, and it really isn’t so bad. Perhaps you’d phrase this as a small issue that’s been on your mind, and invite him to help you find a solution that is time/cost effective. He may very well say, at this point that he’s open to eating more nutritious meals. Mind you, you don’t have to cut out meats or starches, but you could replace…

I admire your ability to recognize your parents’ shortcomings in marriage, OP. We naturally want to look to our parents for examples, and it can be tough to admit their faults because we’re naturally attached to them. My parents’ marriage isn't perfect, either. My mother’s chronic substance abuse has sort of pushed her to the extreme end of the personality spectrum, and its difficult therefore to decide which traits are distinctively hers rather than the alcohol's aggressive influence, but I thi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
