"It's not my problem you feel this way" yep 😂

Hold on, it does get easier. And don't forget to be kind to yourself. Like you can reevaluate your foolishness later on too.

I think this might not be the whole story. Psychopathology is very likely to have roots in a dysfunctional family... might also be a product of the parents' upbringing and what they passed on, even subconsciously.

These are words of wisdom!! Thank you.

It's when a person is put/comes in the middle of a relationship of two people. Usually used to describe processes in families - e.g. it's a triangulation when a mother uses "you are just like your father" to deal with disciplining her child, rather than saying "you cannot throw things around". Or a father gaslighting both the mother and the daughter so they turn against each other (that one I know personally lol)

Yeah, men in EE are different. They don't expect much from you except being rejected (lol, right?). And they pay for you no debate, even if you're not romantically involved.

Haha I love that little moment. If you wait a bit, they will always show themselves! Lol. Ladies look out for early signs of this nonsense so you can move on to better things immediately.

so when he said “you inspire me”, what he really meant was “I need to leech off of your experiences and pretend to know what it’s like to be human” THIS!!! Yep.

You have to go and try. Mutual sympathy is honestly so important. You should feel safe and valued in therapy. I know it's pricey but it's the best investment I have made (and trust me it was A LOT of sessions). I would go for someone older with more experience... try looking into systemic therapy, which deals with intergenerational issues. It's not for everyone but it was a perfect fit for me.

are you dating my ex? :D (I hope not, for your sake)

Yeah... they will remember they are in a relationship once a month at best while you do everything for them (lol, it's sad I know this)

Oh god, they're on my fyp all the time! I really didn't like the guy and didn't even know why

Simple and true. Some people enjoy their bs too much, why change when others can pity them instead?

I was just thinking about this today and half a year later, I still have an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. But what came to me was that it's okay to lose your way, it's the direction that's important. And u-turns are also needed sometimes. All's good.

Love that analogy. Our body is sure very smart.

Yes, it's so weird that it comes almost as a revelation and at one point you're like "actually, I don't have to do this"... I pray this realisation comes in the early moments to all of us next time

Oh my god, I am the same. I actually developed quite bad social anxiety over the course of the relationship... and now I'm single, it's like... gone?? Also I believe that not putting up with people that piss me off or leave me confused healed my acne... like I know how it sounds but it's true and I love it.

I don't agree, I think authenticity is way more important than trying too hard to look a certain way to please men. Of course, look after yourself but I wouldn't stress it.

That usually lasts like a week max., sometimes shorter, as soon as they have you back, they go back to their old bs :). You got this!

Ok I see your point. To be completely honest with you, there was other stuff, not just the ex, and it definitely was not the reason things ended. I just felt he's holding onto her in more than healthy way, her still getting updates on his life and him on hers, even though they were both in long-term relationships. Like there was something unresolved, and of course that made me wonder if he still loved her and if something inside him thinks they will at some point end up together. Regardless of h…

You are so right. I feel like it's the avoidance of true feelings, guilt included. Like if we're still friends, I didn't do anything that bad right?

Potential hookup - exactly!! How rude actually.

My ex used to keep contact with his exes and it drove me mad!! I would say if you're still hoping that one day something will happen... it's not good to bring that into a new relationship. And if you happen to meet someone, maybe you can both acknowledge that? Having that unpleasant experience, I also would never want to be that ex that is in touch. So she might also be understanding of that.

some people genuinely struggle to look at anything past themselves and their own needs, like they are truly not able to... (aka psychopaths) that doesn't stop them from using you as free affection when needed:)

I love Jeannie. I especially felt for her when she was going through the break up with Freddie (because he wanted children and she did not). Wish her the best.

Good sex comes when all the other boxes are checked. Also, sex does get better in a relationship with time, you learn about each other. Maybe focus on long-term predictors, not sexual satisfaction... it is the icing, not the whole cake

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
