My husband and I are 36, soon to be 37, married 14 years with a 13 YO boy and 10 and 8 YO girls. My younger sister just had her first baby and while I am so incredibly happy for them, it is giving me baby fever. I always wanted a 4th but hubby was happy with 2 and caved in at the 3rd and we decided together 3 years ago for him to have a vasectomy. I've convinced him if we can save really hard for the next year that we can revisit the idea of a vasectomy reversal for a 4th child, saving to see if…

I like Oh She Glows recipe for quinoa salad. I make a batch and eat it for a few days. Also meat/cheese/cracker combos with turkey pepperoni. Hard boiled eggs. I try to think of any cold/room temp high veg/high protein lunches I can keep cold with an ice pack. Turkey slices for a few days after I make a turkey for dinner. Those little tins of lemon pepper tuna by Cloverleaf.

I hate doing the dishes too. Like previous posts, I listen to some music or an audiobook or watch Netflix. I'll also light a candle or put on the diffuser with some oils. I'll also finish it up by making sure the counters and the rest of the kitchen is tidy, nicely stranding the fruit bowl, etc. so I can feel good looking in there after. Then curl up in the (adjacent) living room with a book or my phone with a snack where I can see the results as a reward.

Hot yoga. Studying/working part time on my undergrad. Elaborate recipes for things I really want to make/try, not necessarily things my family wants to eat, haha! Getting my lashes done. I feel guilty but fabulous after every fill. At home mani/pedi with my daughters while watching chick flicks.

Ditto. I took a fitness-oriented pole class once that was lighthearted and a real confidence booster.

Ditto for charcuterie. I pick up some different meats and cheeses from our local Italian grocer, some breadsticks, dried fruit, bottled Italian sodas, he loves it.

I creeped their Instagram, and I like the idea behind Cook's illustrated. I wish I had the time for in-person cooking lessons. I'm not a bad cook, but there's a lot of skills I'd like to work on. I think Cook's Illustrated might be another worth subscribing to.

Thanks! I've been doing MUTU system to close my diastasis recti, which I've been doing twice daily and really enjoy and have been wanting to add on more. I've been researching this weekend another at-home workouts videos to do and will give the Pop Pilates a try, thanks!

Ditto to the above. I recommend reading one of Laura Doyle's or Dr. Laura's books, or listening to their audiobooks. I love to listen to these kinds of audiobooks while I'm making dinner, such a timesaver. If I could go back and give myself advice at the stage of life that you are in, I would say to always fill your own bucket first. It's hard to give of yourself when you're already depleted. Learning what actually makes you feel rested and refreshed, instead of just what you feel should make yo…

I'll ask permission if it's overnight like a girls trip, especially since it will cost money. If it's just to pop over to a friend's for coffee, it's more of just a mention to be courteous although worded as a question, like "do you mind if...". He always says sure, go. But if it's an expensive girls trip, it's usually more of a discussion. I've noticed an improvement in our marriage when I started taking the approach of asking versus informing. I think it makes him feel more confident and respo…

After waxing I use Dr. Andrew Weil for Original 'Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Treatment Lotion', which is really watery, like a soothing toner. I then follow with a body oil, whichever I'm buying at the moment, currently it's Elizabeth Arden 'Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil' but any body oil really. The last time I had professional waxing at a nice local salon I took note of the products they used and then went and bought myself the same line through Sally Beauty (Gigi brand warmer, …

They haven't pulled any of her teeth yet, she's only 7 and still has most of her baby teeth, but I'll give that book a read, thanks.

That was really interesting. My first baby was a preemie and one of my others has a very small jaw and narrow palate. Her pediatric dentist already mentioned once all her baby teeth are out he will have some work to do and same with the orthodontist. Thanks for sharing that podcast.

Thanks! I've never done Pilates but I read a post on here the other day of someone who says she does an online class which had me thinking of trying.

Yes, I've invested in a great ergonomic office chair with a separate lumbar support. I like my resistance bands but I've got a ways to go still with my foam roller, I find it so awkward. With more core strength it'll probably get easier I imagine.

Gosh, that all sounds so much like me, especially the slouching with my head forward! I also have ankylosing spondylitis (no fusion yet just inflammation), and my rheumatologist told me recently to start working on my posture so if my back freezes, at least I'll freeze upright, lol! When I saw my posture on the camera with my head forward, shoulders rounded, all slumped, the idea of looking like that forever scared me! 😳 Thanks, I'll look up those techniques.

Thanks, I think you're right. I'm going to have to research more on exactly what kind of weightlifting. My core strength had a long way to go. I have diastasis recti, which I've been using as an excuse. I know some exercises help and some make it worse. Time for me learn, lift, and fix that!
