I also have a seven figure a year doctor wife. All these guys marrying zero income women and then letting them stay home doing nothing is amazing. Didn't anyone do any research before marrying these women?

This is wrong. This is what married filing separately is for.

You live in a bad state. In mine capital gains on premarital assets are not marital income. Why would they be?

"bout of infidelity by her with an ex while we were in college (no sex)" of course there was sex "told her there were 3 things she was doing that really hurt me" she couldn't care less about hurting you

How could she get you fired?
/r/Divorce_Men13/08/25 01:48 PM

Ok so your revised story makes it clear she didn't get "everything" as you originally said. What state was this in?
/r/Divorce_Men13/05/25 11:28 AM
1

your wife making six figures is irrelevant, what is relevant is the income ratio. Presumably you were making significantly more than her?
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/25 07:08 PM
0

Legally, she can't take it all, so your story makes no sense. Inheritances are separate property. But there is no way she took "everything", i.e. 100% of the marital assets. I'm not sure what "her funds" means, but if they were marital assets, you were likely entitled to half. Even if you were in an equitable division state, that typically ends up as equal.
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/25 07:06 PM
0

But you must have kept around 50%, no? The law doesn't allow the ex spouse to take "everything".

did the judge order the home sold or you agreed to it with your stbxw ?

None, this story is fake / OP is lying / misunderstanding what occurred.
/r/Divorce_Men09/04/25 11:42 AM

Your story is an incoherent nonsensical mess lacking any useful detail whatsoever.
/r/Divorce_Men01/04/25 06:51 PM
3

Please explain how you got "taken for everything", the law does not allow for that.
/r/Divorce_Men26/03/25 12:43 PM

This never happened
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/25 08:12 PM

these posters always deliberately leave out important details that expose the truth, although ironically in another post OP said "I am happier living on my own in an apartment while having my kids every other weekend.". So it seems it was his choice, then he's in here complaining about paying too much in child support ["is she just trying to fuck me over more"].
/r/Divorce_Men14/03/25 05:17 PM
1

Why couldn't you get 50/50 custody?
/r/Divorce_Men13/03/25 11:33 AM
1

Frankly you aren't rich enough to get divorced if you have no savings or retirement. You won't be able to afford separate housing, etc. You should try to both live in and share instead of selling the house. She might even try to get you fired. Figure out what she wants to stay together to avoid financial devastation.
/r/Divorce_Men12/03/25 11:41 AM
2

"The rest of us have 2-7 offsuited." Yes but you weren't dealt this hand randomly, you chose it.
/r/Divorce_Men12/03/25 11:37 AM
2

Yes OP is leaving out all the key details on purpose.
/r/Divorce_Men11/03/25 09:08 PM

well 5 kids require a fair bit of upkeep...
/r/Divorce_Men11/03/25 09:07 PM
1

She is bluffing about IVF. Another child makes your situation worse, not better.
/r/Divorce_Men07/03/25 05:54 PM
2

Why would you be screwed in getting your own place? You didn't include any relevant financial information whatsoever. Income, expenses, debts, etc. Also NJ has some of the lowest child support limits in the country. If she got the house, you must have gotten half the equity or other marital assets in compensation, no?
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/25 12:20 PM
1

Name and shame the judge and state
/r/Divorce_Men02/03/25 12:17 PM
1

what does it mean that you lost custody but still have the kids 50% of the time?
/r/Divorce_Men25/02/25 04:30 PM
1

They'd lose female voters, so no they won't be doing that.
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/25 02:40 PM
3

Yes, it is likely tax free - there are significant exemptions for profits from selling a house. Note that your ex transferring existing marital property to you (in other words, not necessarily profit) is even more unlikely to be taxable. A good lawyer would understand this.
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/25 06:46 PM

How is getting another loan going to help with him needing to pay off a loan? He didn't indicate how long he has to pay off the pool loan, or to give the STBX the 15k, so this might or might not make sense. And he'll incur significant new fees to get a new loan.
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/25 07:42 PM
1

Unfortunately it doesn't matter what you are "ok" with, you will be following the law. The law regards her "refusal to work" as irrelevant - your continuance of the marriage for 13 years is seen as acceptance of her not working.
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/25 04:18 PM
1

Can you sell it then? Sounds like you are paying interest on it, plus insurance, plus maintenance, maybe vehicle property taxes if you live in a state with those, so selling it at worst will create some additional cash flow to pay down the loan. You can in a few minutes get a purchase offer from an online car buyer to get a sense of the value. Carvana, CarMax, etc.
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/25 02:29 PM
1

Ok interesting thanks
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/25 02:23 PM
1

What is your current mortgage interest rate? It's probably better to avoid refinancing. What is your income ? "need to get this pool cleared off" How long do you have to pay this off? I wouldn't suggest selling a truck which you need to take care of your child. Can you sell the other vehicle? Do you need 2 vehicles?
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/25 05:28 PM
1

I'd like for you to elaborate on 'The divorce settlement left me €25,000 in debt, lost the car, lost the house". How did you lose everything, you must have gotten 50% of the marital assets, no?
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/25 05:26 PM
1

What is your net pay? How much is your car payment, how much is the car worth, what type of car? Make? Model? Year? Provide a breakdown of all income and expenses and we can see what can be improved.
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/25 02:43 PM
1

A house is an asset. Just because it requires maintenance doesn't make it a liability. You have no idea how much the house is worth or how much the business makes.

/r/Divorce_Men03/01/25 02:51 PM

Why would you be paying child support when she makes 4x what you make? That's the opposite of the formula. What are your incomes?
/r/Divorce_Men15/12/24 01:36 PM
1

Actually I agree with a lot of what you said here!
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/24 11:53 PM
2

No one is losing "all" their assets, 50% maybe. You willingly entered into a situation where half of the assets generated during the marriage would be taken from you by force. How did she con you? You must have had some reason to marry the girl.
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/24 11:37 PM
5

Most of this is irrelevant nonsense, you trying to justify why she deserves nothing but the law doesn't care about who generated the assets during the marriage. Why did you marry a girl like this?
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/24 12:52 AM
5

yeah this guy is an idiot, in a guaranteed 50/50 state he just handed her money for zero reason.
/r/Divorce_Men28/04/24 08:10 PM

Your children are innocent, you should avoid running away for their sake. Sounds like you should think about what makes you happy and do more of that. And less of what makes you unhappy. Just say no to things that make you unhappy. Keeping in mind of course some things need to be done even if they make you unhappy.
/r/Divorce_Men08/03/24 10:27 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
