Don't really think I was cherry picking - I pointed out that it is good to reflect on how you conduct yourself around everyone, not only with women. In fact I think that is the best thing you can do here. It is possible that upon reflection of how you approach people of different genders (and sexual orientations), you will find that the sets of behaviors you present towards these different groups spurs similar sets of reactions from them. You said nothing about commenting on their appearance, or anything else that might enlighten us as to why women act "flighty" around you. It can go either way, entirely depending on how the compliment is delivered. No halfway mature person is going to have a bout of bitchiness over a harmless compliment from a friend. A compliment given in a suggestive manner, however, or overly excessive compliments from someone you wish to remain only friends with, will absolutely put a lot of people off. Basi…

To add to this - We are given very little information about the context in which these girls should apparently be providing this formal disclaimer. Did you express your interest in these women verbally? If not, then why should they be expected to announce this? Perhaps these confusing "bouts of flightiness" are their nonverbal responses to your nonverbal signals of attraction, and perhaps you should take a hint. You also seem to be saying that every straight woman you have befriended has exhibit…
