If you're ready to die anyway you might as well let it happen naturally doing exciting things. Climb mountains. Race motorcycles. Skydive. Scuba dive. Be a logger. Work on an oil rig. Fishing boat. Shit, who cares if some of those take money and will get you debt. You were going to be dead, what's debt? So either you die doing something awesome, you have a miserable time doing stuff people need/look up to, or maybe you improve yourself and have a good time. For me that feeling on a much reduced …

Okay so if you don't have a better plan do the schoolwork for now. Make yourself at least put in some time. Don't stress about the quality yet, just make yourself do work. Check out Pomodoro Technique. Make yourself spend 25min per subject per day. Then aim for 2 per subject per day. You get the idea. Sounds like you may need to tell the shrink you feel the sessions would be more productive one-on-one. This may not work out but you should at least try. Best of luck.

That sounds like "descending order" actually the way you described it.

If that's important to you, yes you should. A year isn't that big a deal in the long term. If not, you should get the GED like you said but you need to make your goal to ace that thing. And you should know what your next step is and what you're going to do with your time. Don't not do your schoolwork just for the benefit of not doing schoolwork. If you want to blow it off you need a solid reason that has a good chance (real not wishful) of success and that couldn't be done while also doing your …

Those sound like reasons you can't yet. You need to figure out what your goal is. Then you need to figure out a working plan to get that. Then you need to work your ass off at that plan. It's fine if the plan changes (for actual reasons, not flaking). But you need an operating model to structure your life around. Incidentally have you seen an actual psychiatrist for this depression?

Your schoolwork would be a good start on the intellectual side. Also, I've been pretty much rebuilding myself for a year and change after some shit that happened over the previous couple of years. I can tell you it's very slow going but I've finally started to see some payoff and I'm working to snowball that. If you're in a deep hole it will take a while to climb out, not going to sugar coat it for you. But it does pay off.

I haven't seen the explanation why "there's no way" to go to college if that's your goal.

I think as a homework assignment you should force yourself to approach at least 1 girl in each of: bar, club, gym. Do that before you let yourself consider paying for it. I hear a lot of reasons why not to try approaching which leads me to think if you pay once you'll get in the habit and not make yourself push the envelope. Do you really want to plateau where you are now, and blow all the cash you could use to DHV? Not to mention you say you're looking for a gf, not a lay. Try to fill an emotio…

Those are good but they're useful once you've already engaged them in conversation. I can't figure out how to get started. Groups of girls never seem to leave an opening neither verbally (back and forth conversation between all of them, no breaks) nor physically (in a circle all facing the center, no gaps).

Who cares what identity politics she identifies with? I still haven't heard anyone explain why she's supposed to be a good fit for that role. Articles about her time at Google said everyone hated her and all she's done at Yahoo is ban flexibility for everyone else (because measuring actual progress is hard) while setting up a private daycare for her kid alone, and push out an update to their email system that everyone hated.

Sidetrack, but I mean, they thought men were the only hunters for decades until someone did an analysis of cave paintings in france comparing the hand marks in the paintings to the hand sizes of the male and female bodies they found around those sites. The hand sizes were too small to be male, indicating women painted something like 75% of the cave paintings of hunting. Which is indicative of women engaging in hunting, but anthropologists who discovered the caves about a century ago assumed they…

This is key, and realizing something similar was key in my own growth. In my beta days I thought I deserved something (and in fairness I'm a pretty cool guy). I would wait for women to see the real me and hunt for the unicorn that wouldn't go for what all the other women did. It didn't help that I swallowed that bullshit about women being more caring and compassionate and men being demanding and unfair. Anyway I ended up realizing that a lot of what seemed cruel betrayal by women in my life was …

Looks like her CV is here Prof Rippon’s [sic] will be speaking at ScienceGrrls’s ‘Fighting the Neurotrash’ at Southbank Centre’s WOW – Women of the World Festival on Saturday. Is that the normal venue to announce scientific results? Anyway seems to me it may be fair to go on about "the drip, drip, drip of the gendered environment" but it's a bit unfair to do that while leaving out the drip, drip, drip of hormonal influences and the like.

Who's to say Yeah OP needs to read about Joseph and Potiphar's wife: Genesis 39 Sadly it doesn't seem that in modern times God always chooses to make falsely accused rapists prosperous. Sometimes they just have their lives ruined.

A lesson for us all buried in there. Right or wrong, this guy can't help himself, he's all over her. He can't really be accused of maintaining frame at all. But even though at least in her mind he obviously carries a torch for her, once she blew him off he went "whatever" and even if he's hopelessly in love with her, he's moved on and looking elsewhere. Just the simple ability to do that gets her wheels turning and now here she is, begging to have something with him. ... granted, he'll end up as…

Do it. Actions have consequences. Not to mention it sets an example for others and makes you someone to be feared. Not excessively feared but they may think twice before trying to ruin you. Not to mention you don't need her shit around while you're trying to teach, and the kids actually trying to learn in your class certainly don't.

That's sort of the big existential question isn't it? Really though it's all about relative SMV. If you maintain frame and she sees you're still a leg up for her she's not likely to jump ship. Regardless, the more focus you put on self-improvement the better off you are in her eyes and in overall SMV.

Women, admirably, want to excel — and usually do, academically. We earn, on average, higher grades than men in almost every subject. (Partly, presumably, because women seem to disproportionately take classes we know we’ll do well in.) Also not mentioning the increasing irrelevance of grades to real life as classes focus more and more on groupthink.

What we think is happening to men right now is the combination of female hypergamy and female advancement. Women earn money and make it hard for themselves to be impressed by any other man who is not above her in status. They more they advance themselves, the more they destroy their own chance to be in love. I've seen articles saying this is a huuuuge thing in SE Asia: Singapore and Hong Kong I think? You have beautiful successful young(-ish) women saying they're foreveralone and legions of men …
